Chapter 47 - chapter forty

Love is such an over defined word yet no one really knows how to really explain it well enough. I don't, I haven't known for a while though I know I love him, I love my family, I love my friends. How to break it down is a task I don't want to get into.

"Maybe because they didn't know how to do so."

Even though they didn't know how to, they should have showed the least care. They got him a nanny who overtime begun behaving like her bosses. Though she showed up once in a while, it really wasn't enough. And sometimes, there's that someone you want showing up.

"I am tired B."

He smiled at me, a tiny one that seemed forced. The next second something was falling from his hands and he was going down with it. I rushed forward holding him, looked towards the people around then turned and left. Him in my arms in a princess carry.

"Boss!"

"Get us to the hospital."

I told Turbo who was opening the back door for me. I don't know what Quint remained saying to them and I didn't care about it. They'd stood still, not even moving a muscle when he fell. What redeeming qualities did those two have?

"Picked your gun?"

"I...you...it's yours. I got it from your house."

"I don't mind going to jail for him but that means all our prints are on that one."

"I know it's hard to believe but I don't know how he got it from me."

I want to, I really do but it was better not to get there. Favorbility points were in the negative at the moment but I didn't want him murdering them. I would make sure he doesn't go to jail but that's a stain he sure doesn't want to carry on him. A stain that could keep him up at night. One some people hadn't learnt to move past.

"Want to tell me what's going on?"

"Once we're home. It'd be best if he said it himself."

A few check-ups later and I learned the three were okay. He was fatigued and that was the reason he was still asleep. I'd been worried, had thought something had gone on that the others hadn't seen and was ready to go face that dead man.

"You still think it's okay to let him be?"

"I don't know anymore."

He didn't but I did. Every time he was hurting Quint and pretending to not know a thing, I wanted to inflict double the pain.

"I thought it was a simple meet and greet."

I looked at the man standing some paces from us and frowned.

"Did you take care of things there?"

"Yeah! Ruptured vessels, spleens, broken bones and someone's internal organs are in trouble."

"Found someone to blame?"

"The first born son, already in custody."

He's letting his son fall? I think I need to really look through that file. Maybe it'll tell me more on what is going on with that old guy.

"Am I meeting your missus today?"

"It's a mister and no."

"These two haven't given their statements."

"They aren't to be involved, wasn't that what we were talking about?"

"We have a full video as evidence then him carrying that kid away. I'd thought he was female, the hair and side profile."

Hospitals can be chaos when they want to be. We quickly found the room where Paula was admitted. At the time she was okay, the baby was healthy and ready to leave.

Them having a daughter was a plus, my mom has a good number of sons that somehow it felt illegal.

"Hello baby, I'm uncle Riley!"

"He was late."

"Hey, don't start man."

I am just happy dad and mom aren't in to begin their lectures... That is if they even decide to.

"She has someone's nose."

"She looks okay now."

I smiled at Blane's statement. He'd sent me a photo of a gloomy shrimp baby the day they arrived and true, this kid now looks more appealing.

"This is my baby we're on about."

"I got something for her, from the temple."

"Thank you! That means a lot, my brothers rushed over forgetting the most important things."

I tied the thread around her wrist then the baby's before getting the beads out. I'd been told toddlers gobble these things so it was better to get them for the parents.

"May you live a long, fulfilling and prosperous life with lots of love and care from people all around you."

I moved aside only to notice my brother's weird looks. Okay, maybe out there paople don't think I could be religious, but I think I am. I pray, give tithe, help the needy... the likes. I also believed there was a Lord in heaven who watches over us that I ask for forgiveness for my sins everyday.

"A minute!"

"It's a happy occasion Arachner."

"No, it's fine."

I might need him to help me when it comes to being locked down. I still have an event to take care of though I don't want to make our parents worried.

The hall was silent, thank VIP sections. One of Paula's brothers was at the furthest end on a phone call that was taking ages.

"Who ambushed them?"

"Carlos!"

"How bad was it, to disable, to kill, how bad was it?"

"I don't think they gave them time to ask or even organize themselves."

"You put Blane in danger, have you talked to his parents?"

"Yeah, we were there yesterday, don't worry about it."

"I know you might be a thug, but you're bringing someone else with you. He is just a kid..."

"You say that like Riley isn't also a kid. He might be a year or two older but he just broke out of the teen years. This time round it wasn't even his fault, it was because of me."

"Will it kill you to shut up?"

"About what? That you weren't even around when it happened but rushed forward to take care of things? Sure, I'll shut it. Maybe everyone should also know purity is a myth."

Was it because I'd told him once I wanted Blane to remain as pure as I possibly could? Then that would mean that Kristoff told him the A to Z that he thinks is the picture of what took place.

"Just, atleast mind your tongue when we're in public."

What if he says something incriminating for him or me? I still have a family to take care of and you can't do that shut in jail.

"I am sorry I didn't come immediately, I might have been a little busy but that's no excuse, I can't change it but I'll do better."

"You promise?"

"No, I said I'll try, baby steps. Where's Jenny, haven't seen her in a good while."

"She won the bet on you not coming..."

So this is why he was fuming? Because he'd lost on a bet with Jenny, the same person who wouldn't allow herself to be taken advantage of.

But thinking back, I'd have still not come with them had I known the events coming up. It was the best case scenario on the issue, though I'd have looked at the loopholes and avoided losing money on those hired thugs.

I love him, I really do, it's the reason I'm happy he got his memory back. Forgetting doesn't mean shit, there were people who remembered and even though you forgot, they'll still judge you by what they recall.

But why had it been so easy to remember when he'd had numerous of those sessions with psychologists?
