The Forgotten One (Part 1)
"You still haven't remembered who I am."
The mysterious figure's voice rolled across the Heart Chamber, calm and unhurried, yet every syllable carried enough weight to silence the universe itself.
No one answered.
The widening Rift pulsed behind him, swallowing and releasing waves of golden and black light.
Emily's breathing became uneven.
The stranger stood beyond the Graveyard of Worlds, his face hidden beneath a shifting veil of light. Every attempt to focus on his features failed. It was as though reality itself refused to let anyone remember him.
Only his eyes remained visible.
Ancient.
Gentle.
Filled with a sadness so deep that Emily felt it piercing straight through her heart.
Alexander instinctively stepped in front of her.
"Stay behind me."
Emily grabbed his arm.
"No."
Her voice was barely above a whisper.
"He isn't looking at anyone else."
She slowly lifted her head.
"He's looking at me."
The stranger smiled.
