The zone.
In this state of extreme focus, all unnecessary thoughts disappear and the athlete becomes absorbed in his play.
It is the ultimate domain, open only to a chosen few.
Throughout humanity's history, there was one supreme differentiator between a normal man and one who freely surpassed his own limits. Talent.
Everyone who knew Arthur was aware he was talented yet failed to truly grasp what his talent truly was. Until now, Arthur had only been using one outlet of his talent.
His true talent, his purpose, and the only object his soul truly resonated with had finally made itself known.
The sword.
THUMP
THUMP
THUMP
Arthur simultaneously burned pewter and tin.
His very first thought since entering the flow emerged.
Move.
And that he did.
With an almost inhuman grace, Arthur sprinted towards Kirishima with Excalibur in hand.
Kirishima, to his credit, pushed his quirk to his current maximum.
He had known from the start Arthur was far faster than he was, so tanking the blow and countering was his only true option.
COME ON ARTHUR. LET'S SEE WHO BREAKS FIRST. YOUR SWORD OR ME!
A simple horizontal slash straight to the obliques.
For the first time, Kirishima stumbled sideways.
The blow had carried the weight of Arthur's entire body and his sword.
A tongue stuck out from Arthur's mouth.
Arthur's feet moved to where Kirishima attempted to regain his footing. He tumbled further.
Next.
Arthur didn't pursue Kirishima further, instead running straight towards Ojiro.
Kirishima recovered and was fast on Arthur's heels, yet the speed difference was too much to overcome.
Arthur threw Excalibur forward.
Ojiro's eyes widened in panic as he saw the incoming pointy projectile.
He bent down.
Iron Pull
The sword returned to Arthur's hand.
In the split second, it took for Ojiro to fully reach his lowest, Arthur was already on him.
A hilt struck his head.
Ojiro's eyes rolled back.
Arthur continued his charge until he reached the bomb.
With an indifferent, almost casual motion, he placed his palm on it.
The zone dissipated.
Arthur blinked.
What?
"THE HERO TEAM WINS!" All Might's voice rang out from the speakers.
Arthur blinked again.
"What?"
Almost immediately, Arthur's body forced him to bend over.
His heart had finally calmed but his body wasn't even close to fine.
It was burning.
If Arthur were to step foot in a pool at this very moment, steam would fill the air.
Arthur's sight was covered in spots, yet the boy refused to fall over.
Thrusting Excalibur to the ground, the boy forced himself upright.
Then, in true Arthur fashion, he brushed his hair and smirked.
"The Knight King once again fulfills his promise."
