(Third Person POV)
[Several Months Later]
In the middle of a field on the countryside, several men were crawling on the ground while covered in blood. They were groaning in pain as they clutched their wounds, their faces distorted as they tried to make their way to the shade under the tree.
"W-Where did that woman come from?" one of them said, "W-Who the fuck is she?"
Then, the figure of Toji Zenin appeared from behind the tree, walking towards them while a worm-like curse was wrapped around her body. She held a katana in her hand while she made her way towards the men.
"Curse Users." She said as she reached the first men, "Nothing but scum, using your Jujutsu for your own gain."
In a swift motion, she stabbed the first one in the back, impaling him and killing him. The slight grunt that escaped his mouth unsettled the other men, who were panicking.
"W-What?!" one of them exclaimed, "What the fuck!"
Toji pulled the blade out of the man's body, "You're next." She told the one nearest to her, "You will die."
She walked over to him and slashed his neck, killing him instantly. Blood sprayed everywhere as she stood there, getting some of it on her face. She then slowly walked over to the others and finished them off, one by one.
After killing them without mercy, she simply stood there, watching their blood slowly form a puddle on the dirt. She then raised her blade, seeing how the blood was slowly dripping down from the point of the blade.
"Hm...." She said
Then, several curses began to appear coming from the earth. Despite not being able to see them, Toji was able to sense that there were nearly a dozen of them, rising up into the air. They were all distorted and grotesque creatures that bore no resemblance to anything.
Toji let out a sigh, "I guess I have to keep fighting, hm?" She said, flicking the blade to the side, "Cursed Spirits, Cursed Users, all of it doesn't end...."
She took a step forward but felt a shift in the air, something that told her to stop in her tracks.
The Curses all then began to tremble violently as they were shrouded in a shadow-like miasma, their eyes turning dark purple. They let out bone-chilling shrieks and within a few seconds, they all bulged up, popping like balloons.
Blood and guts sprayed everywhere as most of them were obliterated. The rest of the Curses were lying on the ground, writhing in pain as they were shrouded by the miasma.
Toji felt this happen and she turned to the side, seeing that Ryusei was walking towards her, "What?" She said, "What are you.....?"
Ryusei had his hands within his kimono's sleeves, "Toji-san." He said, "What are you doing?"
He was looking at the dead men on the ground, obviously deducing that Toji had killed them.
Toji looked to the side, where she could sense the dying Curses, "You did this?" She asked, "What kind of power do you have?"
Ryusei looked at the Curses, "I spread my Frenzy throughout the area, condensing it onto the Curses." He said, "Only you are immune to it, so you can't feel its effects. The Curses were overloaded with the virus, and most of them self-destructed. The others are slowly dying out, it won't take long."
"Hm...." Toji looked at him, "A virus....?"
Ryusei walked closer to her, "Why did you kill these men?" He asked her, "Who were they?"
"Curse users who were hired by a Yakuza." Toji said, "They were attracting curses to some villages and such. I had to get rid of them."
"Hm...." Ryusei said, standing right in front of her, "I see."
Toji scowled, "What do you want?" She asked, "Our wedding isn't until a few weeks, we don't have to see each other."
Ryusei looked at her with his eye, looking at the blood splatter on her face, "Let me get that for you." He said, wiping the blood off her cheek, "You ought to be more careful, getting blood on you."
Toji pulled away, "Don't touch me."
Ryusei smiled slightly, "How cold." He said, "I was actually tracking down the same Curse Users, seems you were ahead of me."
"Why would you care about this?" She asked
"I don't like when those with Jujutsu use their powers to prey on the weak." Ryusei said, "We were born for the sole purpose of keeping the balance. Without us, Sorcerers, the land would be overwhelmed with Curses, so we exist to exorcise them. To use our abilities for our own benefit, it is not right."
"Hm...." Toji stepped to the side
"That Curse you wear, it's a nice one." Ryusei said, "I'm doing all I can to not infect it."
Toji sighed and rolled her eyes, "I guess you are." She said, as she pulled the curse away, "Hm...."
The worm curse began to compress itself, swallowing its body whole and being reduced to a small ball. Toji took the curse and ingested it into her own mouth, storing within her.
"Nice trick." Ryusei said
"Mhm." She said, "Now what? You saw that these fuckers are dead, you can go now."
"We are to be married soon, Toji-san." Ryusei said, "We should get along."
"Oh yea?" Toji scowled, "Do you think I would actually want to get along with the boy I am being strong-armed to marry???"
"I'm already 16." Ryusei said, "I can tell the Clans that we can wait until I am 17, might as well. But in the meantime, we should get to know each other a bit better."
"Hmph..." Toji turned around and began to walk away, "Blow me."
Ryusei walked alongside her, "There's no need to be hostile." He said with a slight smile, "I look forward to the wedding, you know."
"Yea, of course you do." Toji said, "You're just a little horny brat who cannot wait to unleash his seed unto me, that's it."
"Not at all." Ryusei said, "I just want to be with you, that is all."
Toji stopped and looked at him, "What?" She said, "You want to be with me? Why?"
"What do you mean?" Ryusei asked
"Of all the women in this Jujutsu World, you chose me." Toji said, "An older woman who has no Cursed Energy. Why?"
"I told you, didn't I?" Ryusei said, "Because you're the only one immune to my powers."
"Tch, if I wasn't?" She asked, "Would you still choose me? Do you truly think that I would accept someone who chose me for a reason that could've been changed by fate?"
"I would still choose you." Ryusei said
"Oh yea?" Toji asked, "Enlighten me why."
"I don't know." Ryusei said, "I don't know why, I would just choose you."
"Tch...!" Toji scowled, "You stupid little boy....."
"It doesn't matter." Ryusei said, "I told you, we are fated to be together."
"Yea yea..." Toji crossed her arms and looked to the side, "Whatever.....what's up with your eye? It's been months, it hasn't healed yet?"
She was referring to Ryusei's bandaged eye.
Ryusei gently reached for it, "Oh, this?" He said, "Well....."
"What?" Toji looked at him
"It's hard to explain." Ryusei said, "But I think this eye is gone now."
"Huh?" Toji said, "Why?"
Ryusei chuckled, "Oh, don't worry about it." He said, "But no worries, just because you'll marry a cripple...."
"It doesn't mean I won't perform my duties."
