Ariel rolled her eyes so hard it nearly hurt. "Are you here to help?" she said flatly. "If not, then you may take your leave. You have overstayed your welcome."
The woman stared at her stunned. Then the woman laughed. As though Ariel had said something far too amusing.
"You have spirit," she said, her lips curving as she rose slowly to her feet. "I do admire that."
She leaned closer again instead of leaving. "But no," she went on, her voice lowering slightly. "I am not here to help you." Her eyes flickered faintly. "I came to see you."
Ariel's frown returned. "To see me?" she repeated.
The woman nodded, her gaze lingering on her face.
"Mm," she hummed. "The Ordinary that managed to catch his interest."
Ariel's fingers tightened faintly against the sael-bond
"That alone makes you… worth looking at." she mocked.
"If I were you," the woman added, almost idly, "I would be careful what I ask for." Her gaze dropped once more to the seal-bond
