Chapter 79 - Notes

He just stood there, watching her receding frame.

She had said it so casually, as though it had required no further thought from her…

What in the world did she even mean by that?

His feet were moving before he realized his intentions.

He caught up with her at the door.

She spun around sharply. His eyes fell to the fabric she had shoved into her bosom briefly before he looked her in the eyes.

"I'll get the pail of water for you." He blurted out.

Her eyes widened in unfiltered shock.

"But your sleeves…"

"Don't worry about it. Just find a towel." He said and brushed past her.

He picked up a pail from the washroom and filled it up with water, taking off his coat and rolling up the sleeves of his shirt before he did so.

When he had filled it half-way, he picked it up and took it back to the library. No one gave him any unusual stares because they were used to seeing him doing things by himself.

He had draped his coat over his shoulder.

When he arrived, she was already there.
