Chapter 49 – Glutton and the Mythical Zoans

Everyone soon started waking up.

Neptune walked towards Ron's room and opened the doors.

Ron was stretching at his 3-meter height.

"So you finally decided to wake up?" Neptune asked, clearly irritated.

That Haki had practically knocked out the entire Fishman Island. Soon, the people who woke up would go into full panic. Just imagining everything gave him headaches.

"Yoo, Neptune! Give me foooooood!" Ron shouted.

As if waiting for it, his stomach growled loudly.

Neptune's mouth twitched, but remembering that Ron had been asleep for nearly six years, he nodded in understanding.

Though he didn't know how Ron had survived this long without food.

After finding no explanation, he decided to give the credit to his Devil Fruit.

"Wait a little. The food will be ready soon. By the way, what Devil Fruit did you eat?" Neptune asked, his eyes practically sparkling.

The image of that flame-covered giant emerging from the magma was still clear in his mind.

At that moment, Neptune had only felt destruction.

Absolute destruction.

He had felt like his life was coming to an end.

Ron paused.

"My Devil Fruit?"

A grin appeared on his face.

"Yotun no Mi, Model: Surtr. The Giant-Giant Fruit, Model: Surtr. A world-ending, God-Slayer Giant."

Orange-red flames flickered on his hand as dark ash floated around the fire.

Neptune was stunned.

His body shook from disbelief.

"The giant who brings Ragnarok?"

His face turned pale.

Ron blinked in surprise.

"You know about this fruit?"

Neptune nodded.

"My friend is King Harald of the giants. He often tells stories recorded in the libraries of the giants. Stories about the War God of Elbaf and the Sun God."

Ron was completely stunned.

Neptune continued.

"It's said that the God of War of Elbaf was the user of the Ryu Ryu no Mi, Mythical Zoan, Model: Nidhogg, the biggest Dragon-type Devil Fruit user."

"There are also some stories that have no evidence. Like Nidhogg. Like the God-Slayer Wolf who breaks the chains and devours gods."

Ron immediately knew that one.

"The Fenrir?"

Neptune raised his eyebrows in surprise and nodded.

"Yes."

"But there are no legends of this Devil Fruit. And the giant who brings the end of the world—the one you ate—must be the Giant of Flame and Destruction."

"The one who will burn the world."

"A giant wielding flames that no one can control. The primordial flames which burn everything and nothing."

Ron was too stunned.

'Damn, this world is more mysterious than I know,' he muttered inwardly.

But after thinking for a while, he understood.

Mythical Zoans chose their own users.

Just like Nika.

That fruit had escaped the World Government for eight hundred years and only revealed itself when Luffy ended up eating it.

If Nidhogg and Ratatoskr could exist, then why not others?

The question made Ron's eyes sparkle.

But he soon returned to reality.

Even if those Devil Fruits existed, they hadn't revealed themselves yet.

Finding them would be incredibly difficult.

Neptune, seeing Ron deep in thought, shrugged and went to prepare food for him.

"Hmm, I should also inform them," he muttered as he took out a Den Den Mushi.

"Oii, Neptune. Where are Shakky and Gloriosa?"

Ron came out.

His Observation Haki wasn't detecting their auras.

Neptune nodded.

"They are in the New World, searching for someone."

"I don't know who it is, but they've been searching for him ever since you fell asleep."

Ron nodded.

Just then, the Den Den Mushi in Neptune's hand changed its appearance.

"Moshi Moshi. What is it, King Neptune?"

Gloriosa's voice came through.

Ron immediately forgot about everything as a mischievous grin appeared on his face.

Neptune caught that grin.

"Ahem. It's me. I just wanted to check when you guys will be back to check on Ron."

The Den Den Mushi mirrored Gloriosa's confused expression.

"We'll be back at the same time we always do."

"By the way, have you not read the newspaper yet?" Neptune asked.

Gloriosa answered instantly.

"Nope."

"And stop talking nonsense. If you don't have anything urgent to say, cut the damn call. We're busy."

She was clearly irritated by Neptune's pointless questions.

Neptune scratched his head.

"Ahem, okay—"

Before he could finish, Gloriosa hung up.

Ron giggled.

"Bwhahahaha! Seems like they're really busy."

Neptune nodded and went to bring food.

---

On a deserted island—

Gloriosa cut the call and flew into the sky.

Her Observation Haki spread across the heavens.

"Tsk... still no signs of that damned bastard."

A few hours later, a bolt of lightning appeared as Shakky's figure formed in front of Gloriosa.

"Did you find that bastard?"

Shakky shook her head in irritation.

"That bastard is good at hiding."

Lightning flickered around her violently.

Gloriosa sighed.

"Let's go and check on Ron."

Shakky's anger disappeared instantly.

She nodded while pouting.

"Damn him too. How long is he planning to sleep?"

---

Back on Fishman Island—

Ron sat before an enormous table.

His hands moved at lightning speed as he devoured everything in front of him.

Mountains of food vanished from the plates as more continued arriving.

"So what are you going to do next?" Neptune asked.

Ron swallowed a mountain of food and started thinking.

"Hmm."

"Well, I will be going to a place and conquering it."

"After that, ask Gloriosa to move Ship of promise Noah and Fishman Island there."

"So the Fishmen can live under the sun."

"This—"

Neptune was completely stunned.

He had only asked casually.

He wasn't expecting this answer.

Ron grinned.

"Well, that will have to wait until you become king."

"And convince the merfolk to move to the surface."

"After that, I'll be going to find those hidden Mythical Zoans."

He was now genuinely curious.

What other Mythical Zoans existed that hadn't revealed themselves yet?

Neptune's eyes became moist as he bowed.

"I don't have words to explain my—"

Ron immediately cut him off.

"Show your gratitude by bringing more foooooood!"

Neptune's mouth twitched.

"Damn it! You'll starve my nation before I even become king!"

He shouted before sighing helplessly.

Ron grinned as more food continued appearing.

Then he suddenly remembered something.

"Ohhh! How did I forget that?"

He snapped his fingers.

Instantly, multiple dishes of different foods appeared before him.

It was the stockpile of food he had saved inside his Inventory.

He had completely forgotten about it.

Neptune was utterly stunned.

"I still don't understand how you store things and bring them out of nowhere."

"And you could do that even before you ate the Devil Fruit."

Ron waved casually.

He was far too busy eating to care.

His Life Return and hybrid physique digested everything at an absurd speed.

His body absorbed all the energy like a sponge.

Plate after plate disappeared.

Mountains of food turned into empty dishes.

Neptune could only watch in disbelief.

The amount of food Ron had already eaten could have fed entire villages.

Yet the giant was still hungry.

"Are you sure you're not eating Fishman Island itself next?" Neptune asked with a deadpan expression.

Ron paused.

He looked around thoughtfully.

Neptune immediately regretted speaking.

"Bwhahahaha!"

Ron burst into laughter.

"Don't worry. Fishman Island doesn't look tasty."

Neptune's face darkened.

"That wasn't reassuring at all."

Ron ignored him and continued eating.

For the first time in six years—

The Chaos Emperor had finally awakened.

And the sea had no idea what kind of trouble was about to begin.
