Realizing words alone were no longer enough, Beta Felix immediately turned toward Maddison with a grim expression.
Understanding his intention instantly, Maddison shifted back into her human form despite the danger surrounding them. Her bare feet stepped carefully across the damaged ground as she slowly approached the massive black wolf standing amidst the destruction.
"Nathan... babe... please calm down, will you?" Maddison pleaded softly, her voice trembling as tears gathered in her eyes. "I'm here... could you let me come closer?"
Her voice cracked near the end, carrying a faint sob that revealed both fear and desperation.
Unfortunately, Nathan seemed completely incapable of hearing her anymore.
The enormous wolf suddenly lunged at another warrior attempting to restrain him. A savage snarl tore from his throat as his jaws clamped violently onto the warrior's leg.
"Aghhh!"
