"Ash, have some dessert while waiting. Here, try this," Gage said gently, deliberately drawing her attention back to him after noticing that the moment Gideon served her tea, Ashley's focus had unconsciously drifted toward Gideon once again.
But Gideon, fully aware of what Gage was trying to do, did not give him the opportunity to pull Ashley's attention away for long. Calmly, he reached for the ordering tablet the manager had left on the table before turning slightly toward her and offering it over.
"Miss Ashley, why don't you help me order the food?" Gideon said smoothly.
As he spoke, his deep, unreadable gaze settled on her face once more. It was the kind of gaze that carried an unsettling intensity without appearing aggressive, heavy enough to make someone feel trapped beneath it.
