Chapter 32 - “The Fall of Nalish”

"Maharani,

The prince of Tuluv Lok, Susim, is the master of the energy of Prakashpunj.

Only he has the ability to face demonic energy.

Guruji and I had thought that we would obtain demonic energy from you anyway, but before that, we should acquire the energy of Prakashpunj from the divine essence—the enemies of demons—so that no one could stand against us in the future.

We could not face Prakashpunj ourselves,

so we decided to assign this task to you. In exchange for restoring your memory, we sent you to Tuluv Lok and deceitfully summoned Prince Susim to Nalish Lok, intending to sacrifice him."

"Sacrifice!?

Did you sacrifice him!?" (she shouted)

"Answer me!"

"No.

Just as we were about to sacrifice him, someone suddenly made him disappear and took him away."

"Then where is Prince Susim now?"

"Forgive me, Maharani, but I have no knowledge about that."

Here in Subahu Lok, demon Nalish and the demon guru meet their friend Subahu.

Subahu welcomes them warmly and says—

"Friend Nalish,

the help you asked for—I have completed your task exactly as you wanted.

All of Sanjh's energy has now been transformed into demonic energy, and now she will obey whatever command you give her."

Nalish and the demon guru, pleased, say—

"This is extremely good news, my friend.

Where is Sanjh?

Let us meet her."

"Of course.

Come with me."

Subahu takes them to his ritual chamber deep beneath the earth, where a mysterious hexagonal symbol is drawn.

He makes them stand on that hexagon and suddenly starts laughing loudly.

"What happened, friend?

Why are you so happy?

And where is Sanjh?"

"Forget about Sanjh now, my friends."

Both of them look at him in shock.

"We don't understand.

What do you mean?"

"I mean that from now on, the king of demons is not you—but me, Subahu.

Because I possess the energy of the Demon God, which makes me the most powerful among all demons.

All this time, I lived under your command, agreeing to all your foolish decisions.

I was only waiting for the moment when I could defeat you and become the ruler of all demon realms—and make you my servant.

But every time I tried to defeat you by force, I failed.

So I realized that I could defeat you not by strength, but only through deception.

And fortunately for me, I didn't even have to do much.

You yourself handed over Sanjh to me and delivered your own end into my hands."

"Such a great betrayal!

I will not spare you, Subahu!"

As demon Nalish lunges toward Subahu, he suddenly gets thrown back and falls onto the hexagon.

Subahu laughs—

"Forgive me, my friend,

but now neither you nor your powers can harm me.

The circle you are standing in is actually a prison created by me using the energy of the Demon God.

No matter how much energy you use, you cannot step out of it.

From today, this is your world."

Saying this, Subahu leaves.

Princess Ratri returns from Nalish Lok to Subahu Lok and sits in her chamber, thinking about Prince Susim.

Subahu, after imprisoning Nalish and the demon guru, comes to her chamber.

"Maharani…"

"Greetings."

"Greetings, Maharaj."

"So, what happened in Nalish Lok?"

"Everything you told me was true.

Nalish stole my memory to obtain my energy, and through me, he tried to summon Prince Susim to Nalish Lok to sacrifice him."

"Who is this Prince Susim?"

"He is the prince of Tuluv Lok."

"Tuluv Lok!?

But that is one of the seven realms where gods are worshipped—our greatest enemies."

"Yes, I know.

Prince Susim is the master of Prakashpunj's energy, which can counter demonic power.

That is why he sent me…"

"What did he do with you, Maharani?"

"He sent me to Tuluv Lok to bring Prince Susim to Nalish Lok.

I don't know where Prince Susim is now…

or in what condition he is."

"Why are you worried about him, Maharani?"

"No, Maharaj…

I am not worried about him…

I was just wondering where he suddenly disappeared."

"You don't need to worry about that.

He is our enemy.

His misfortune is our good fortune."

"…Hmm."

"You should rest now.

Tomorrow I will show you Subahu Lok and introduce you to your entire family.

Everyone is eager to meet you.

They have been waiting for you for so long.

But seeing you in that condition would have caused them pain, so I thought it best to restore your memory first."

"I regret that I still cannot remember anything.

Forgive me, Maharaj.

I am trying very hard, but I fail.

I truly remember nothing."

"It's alright, Maharani.

I understand your pain.

I care for you.

You should rest."

"Yes."

Subahu leaves, but Princess Ratri feels deep guilt.

"I don't know where Prince Susim is…

and I can't remember anything.

The only thing I remember…

are the beautiful moments I spent with Prince Susim.

I don't know whether fate has deceived me…

or I am the one deceiving Maharaj.

Because of me, Prince Susim is now in danger…"
