Chapter 3 - Doctor's visit

Marcilene shakes me softly awake. Calling for my new name, well the nickname:

"Lazi.. Lazi... wakey wakey. Dad called a doctor for you."

I feel the breeze on my body and just turn myself away from her, knowing that it's too damn cold.

Marcilene looks at me then pouts:

"Okay you brat..."

She ignores the fact that she's a kid too.

"...I'll just force you down stairs."

Marcilene goes around to the side I was faced to and pulls me closer to her, from the shirt and then, her aura begins to dance around and the swirl toward her arms, and travel to her legs, but it's hidden by the frame of the bed.

"I'm going to carry with dad's magic."

She then grabs me by my waist and holds me tightly next to her chest, her hand are surprisingly tight around my waist. The large clothes that Steel gave me to wear last night sticking close to my skin.

She picks me up then out then door we go, making our way to the stairs.

We continue taking steps through the hallway, until we are downstairs and back to the living room, the place more visible now with the sun coming in through the window and with no need for the fire in the fire place now.

Marcilene brings me deeper into the living room and we can see out the window into the front yard, Steel is outside with the giant gauntlets in hand.

I look around and see the armor rack there, with no giant metal gauntlets.

I turn back to see Steel swinging each fist with ease, the gauntlets let out a, CLANK, with every stop and swing of movement Steel makes.

Every step Steel makes is a deliberate and elegant movement to show his foot work, with swing can be heard through the window.

The colors of his red aura were jumping all around his body and some even covered the gauntlets as if a part of Steel's body.

Left, step right. Right, step back once, then back forward, an uppercut into the air in front of him. Two steps back and then a jab, three times.

Every move he makes the sweat drops off his body, but more cover his as the sun gets slowly higher and higher to it's peak.

"Dad has always followed that routine of waking up and "Keeping himself sharp", I don't really understand why he does it though."

Marcilene was watching with me for a while.

I look further beyond Steel and his physical practices. A wall about half the size of Steel which to me is still tall, but once I'm a teen that wall won't be tall enough to really keep me here.

Behind the wall has someone walking toward an opening in the wall, as they make their way to the opening the person becomes more closer as an older lady. Her hair greying out and the clothes she's wearing is a purple like dress with a large witches hat. The tip of the hat in a tilt to the left.

Her aura is a shade of light purple, a vibrant pretty purple, the dress just a slight darker color than her aura color.

She waves to Steel and says something that can't be heard through the glass.

"Guess that's your doctor."

'My doctor?'

"Coo?"

Marcilene nods:

"Yep, she's one of the few doctors that will come here anyway, so dad can only call for her in town."

'Why?'

She puts me down on the couch, and she point to her ears:

"It's because... I'm an elf."

Her aura, swirls to her ears, as if to hide the pointed ends of them.

She then begins to massage the ends of her ears, she lets out a gasp.

"If only I wasn't. Then Steel wouldn't have to leave his other kids and only see them once or twice a year."

'Steel has other kids? Wait, Elves?!'

"Coo?"

She smiles at me and then, her hand comes to my face caressing my cheek, her aura on her hand is soft.

"Yeah, Steel has other kids, they're all older than me too. And they are super nice... Well the one I met is super nice anyway."

She moves her hand away from my face and shrugs.

The door opens in the other room, more specifically the front door to the house is the door that opens.

Lazuli looks to the wall where he hears a feminine voice along with Steel's voice talking together.

"I called you here because a boy came here in the middle of the night with a different set of eyes and I don't really know if it is something bad or everything will be fine."

Steel comes around the corner before the witch lady and walks right past both Marcilene and I to put his gauntlets on the ground next to the armor stand.

THUD

The gauntlets drop with a giant slam against the ground, and the crimson color that was covering them slips away.

"Hello, little Marci."

The with lady waves at Marcilene and takes off her large hat to show her face to them. The lady is pretty old, her face wrinkled a bit, but it shows her experience in and wisdom.

Marcilene waves back, with a smile on her face.

"Hi, Doctor Tamara!"

They both laugh and wave to each other for a while, then Steel comes over to me.

"Here he is."

He reaches his hands out to grab me, but I can see the amount of sweat on his body, it's dampening his white shirt with sweat.

I move away from him, my body flopping on the comfort of the couch and begin crawling away.

"He can crawl?!"

Marcilene and Steel yell in unison.

'I could crawl?!'

I also yelled in unison, but mentally.

Marcilene then points and laughs at Steel:

"Dad, he learned to crawl out of no where because he didn't want you to carry him!"

She begins to die laughing.

She's not paying attention to the ever approaching Steel as he grabs Marcilene by the arms and pulls her into a hug, wiping all the sweat on her.

Marcilene tries to wrestle herself away from him and he doesn't let loose, that continues on in the background as Doctor Tamara comes to my face, full view.

"Now lets go see."

Doctor Tamara's face, looks at me with genuine surprise at it, the dual colored eye are a surprise, if not intriguing:

"You relly do have two eye colors, don't you kiddo?"

I nod my head.

She pauses for a second and then laughs at the fact that I acknowledged her.

"Smart little boy ain't you?"

She pats my head.

"Now, let's see about that eye of yours."

Her hand comes up to my face slowly, to not scare me, but it's not going to scare me all that much if she moved it faster anyway.

When her hand comes up to my face, it begins to have her pruple aura covering her hand, in a swirling way.

"Okay, let's check each eye one at a time, so that way, it'll be esier for us to figure out if anything is wrong with you. Okay?"

I nod.

She smiles.

"We'll start with the black eye."

She covers my left eye with her other hand, and the purple aura that I see is only on the hand blocking my eye. The rest of her body looks completely regular, her hand begins to wave in front of me.

"Okay... Guys, What's his name?"

Steel and Marcilene stop with their playful wrestling for a second and look at both Doctor Tamara and I.

"His name..."

Marcilene frees herself from Steel and wipes herself, before she continues finishing her sentence:

"..his name is Lazuli, but you can call him Lazi... Like Lazy, but not."

She smiles and then walks away from Steel, over to both Doctor Tamara and I.

She holds her hand up in front of my eye from a second and takes a deep breathe, then she let's it out.

"Lazi it's seems good so far..."

Doctor Tamara, then picks up her finger in front of my free eye.

"..okay Lazi... Follow my finger if you can please."

I push my lips together:

"O..kay."

She smiles, so does, Marcilene and Steel from behind both girls in front of him.

She then slowly moves her finger in front of my face, from left to right, from right to the middle, then up and down. And repeat, I didn't have any trouble but, it felt weird to not see her aura because, I'm used to seeing it on people's body.

"Okay Lazi. It seems this eye is okay."

She moves her hand from my other eye and the aura colors from their bodies fill them again.

"Now, let's move on to this eye."

She moves to block the previous eye with her hand and as soon as she brings her hand to my eye, she stops.

Her hand was covered in her purple aura, swirling in a circle around her hand.

"Something is weird with this eye?"

Steel then takes steps closer to us, his face twisted in concern:

"What's wrong? Is he hurt or something a disease? Will he die?"

Marcilene also begins to freak out a little her aura spiking with every question that Steel asked.

Tamara turned to correct herself:

"No, He'll be fine and he'll live, but this eye in a sense is Inherited Soul Magic."

Steel looks at me and then to Tamara.

Marcilene just ends up staring at me, or more specifically my eye.

"How does Lazuli have Inherited Soul Magic?"

I tilt my head.

'What's Inherited Soul Magic?'

I think to myself to try and ask.

I open my mouth, but words that are bigger than one syllables are pretty difficult, let alone one full sentence.

Steel asked her, both Steel and, now Marcilene looked at the olden woman kneeling in front of me. Steel towering over the knelt woman.

"I'm not fully sure on why, but if I had to guess the eye was most likely from a parent of the child, from the mother or you."

Tamara points to Steel.

He shakes his head:

"I'm not his father, I just took the title because he was left at our front door last night."

Tamara, tilts her head.

"Okay, Then from his mother or his father. That's all I can tell."

Marcilene, taps Tamara. Tamara looks at Marcilene, as she then looks at me.

"Do you know what his Inherited Soul Magic does?"

Tamara looks at her with a smile:

"Sorry Marci, but my magical detection can only go so far with figuring out Soul Magic."

Tamara, then turns to Steel:

"You'll have to wait for him to get old enough to understand how to speak and tell you all about what he can do, or unless you can figure it out before then."

Tamara gets back to a kneel in front of me.

"Should I also figure out his age and if he has any other diseases, or is that all?"

Steel sighs in disappointment of the unknowing ability that I have.

"Please, finish the check up on him."

She nods and continues with my check up.

Her hand being enveloped in a purple aura the same that is always just flowing around her body.

Steel and Marcilene stand just beside and behind her as they wait for her to finish with my diagnosis.

After a few minutes she moves her hands away from my body:

"He's about a year old, and he doesn't have any illnesses as far as I'm concerned, but please continue to check up with his allergist in any town, that can help you with him a tad bit better."

"Yes. Thank you, Tamara."

Steel says with appreciation in his voice.

Tamara stands and takes a step back to balance herself as she stands up.

"No worries, But remember what I said..."

Doctor Tamara walked around Steel and toward the front door exit:

"Make him see a well equipped allergist."

She says that as she goes out the door, it slams and she's gone.

Steel and Marcilene look at me for a while, before Steel walks up closer and looks into my eye. Harder than before.

"What do you think His Inherited Soul Magic will be Marci?"

Marcilene looks around the room, then looks at Steel for a few seconds, then she looks at me. Her ears no longer being hidden by her aura and is now idle.

"He'll Probably shoot water streams out of his eye."

I squint my eyes in surprise of such a dumb idea.

'That's stupid.'

Steel chime in:

"That's stupid."
