Chapter 36 - chapter 29: The system is deeper than I expected.

The three Yunoasauras lunged at Vash, their front feet slamming into the ground.

Vash spun his blade, using the momentum of his turn to launch himself upward, clearing the charge just as the middle one lowered its horn.

Mid-air, he twisted his hip to spin back and drove his blade into the creature's rigid horn, using it as an anchor.

The impact stopped his fall for a split second—enough for him to shift his weight and land on top of the Yunoasauras.

The Yunoasauras staggered for a split second as the blade dug into its horn.

Then it snapped back into motion.

It thrashed violently, shaking its head and body like a raging beast trying to throw off an unseen weight. The ground cracked under its stomps as it began to buck and surge, its movements turning wild and uncontrollable.

Vash tightened his grip on the blade's hilt, holding himself steady atop the beast.

He raised his left-hand short sword and drove it into the Yunoasauras' scaled throat.

The blade struck with a heavy resistance— its scales far harder than expected.

A sharp counterforce jolted through his arm, throwing off his balance for a moment. He held onto the gap between its cervical scales and kept himself from falling as the surge force threw him up into the air.

He pulled himself forward using his left hand and wrapped his right hand around its neck.

He then used his other hand's fingertips to break into its scales and grip tightly.

The blood splashed out the moment his fingers dug into the scales of its throat and made a wide, fist-like grip and tore out the scale from that part. The Yunoasauras roared out in agony and slammed its head into the other Yunoasauras besides it, making Vash fly forward.

The other kin's horn got stuck in Vash's calf, making him wince slightly, but before he could fall, he grabbed the blade's hilt that was stuck onto the first one's horn and used it to pivot his hand and throw his legs up into the air.

The wound on his calf regenerated in a few moments as he spun his body and wrenched the blade out of its horn.

He stumbled on his feet after landing but caught himself in time and made a good distance between them. He winced and crouched down to the ground, holding his calf.

Vash: "F_ck–... It hurts more after regen.... Tch, yeah, i can't expect the muscle and nerve regen to be painless."

He stumbled back on his feet as the first creature charged at him again from the front.

He stomped his foot onto the Yunoasauras's horn and pinned it to the ground using his foot, but suddenly its kins lunged from both sides together, so he used his feet that was on the horn of the fallen Yunoasauras and pushed himself back.

both the kins crashed into each other, their horns broken as the result of collision.

He came to a stop, wiping the dust off his shoulder and started to rotate his right arm until it cracked, then cracked his neck as well.

He was thrown back to a distance when the Yunoasauras he was stepping on threw him off guard.

But, instead of stumbling, he used that force to land on a boulder horizontally. He used his legs like springs to charge back at them with all the speed, excluding his strength and putting all the stamina with precision, speed and agility.

He materialized his coat little by little into many short swords and stabbed them into the gaps of each of their scales... Using all his stamina and speed, he kept stabbing them to death with no sign of stopping.

All three of the beasts stumbled and weren't able to save themselves as Vash kept stabbing the blades one after another into their vital gaps until they were all dead. He kept doing it for another 2 minutes due to the daze from using all his stamina.

He slowly stopped but kept trying to do it again and again, even though there was no force on it. His body barely standing due to adrenaline rush. His eyes were as dull as a drugged person who's high.

His vision started to get blurry and wavy, barely leaving him awake.

His body collapsed on the ground, unconscious due to exhaustion.

The time passed slowly as the sun went down and came up once more, his body laid sleeping the whole time.

He woke up after a good rest and looked at the system screen that was shining warmly on his face with its light with tired eyes.

[guardians of waystone "the pack of Yunoasauras" has been eliminated]

[Level: 400]

Vash kept staring and didn't say anything, he just stared at one screen even though there were more around him, looking at the level of those monsters he just fought.

He sat up and wiped his eyes to see clearly and thought—

Vash: "I sometimes really wonder..... If you're trying to save me or kill me?... I am at level 264."

"In what game is a player forced to go against a enemy twice their level?.. Tch, sometimes it feels like I was better without a system....this have so many glitches."

He paused for a moment and sighed.

"Haa~... Well, I asked for this myself after all.... I really am a idiot, 'he' was right, I guess.... Anyway, It's not like I am not growing stronger."

(He: talking about sudhanshu)

"But, this taught me one thing, there is no limit to my growth, neither is there a protective code like most of the game systems.... The only thing it cares about is me getting stronger,.... but why?"

"Who am i telling this anyway?... Urgh~, i really need to stop talking to myself.... I might have to see a psychiatrist when i go back to ear—"

He froze, his mind drifted back to the memories of his family, his best friend, and everything else he had left behind. Memories he hadn't continued ever since the job change quest began—since the moment he became trapped inside this tower of hell.

He kept sitting in silence, the sun setting behind him as his eyes stared at nothing.

He took a deep breath and thought.

"Maa and papa might be worried,... I don't even remember how long I've been here now... Tsk-"

Slowly, he stood up and ruffled his own hair. The dust and sweat scattered around him.

He looked down at his clothes,.. The coat was gone, the leggings were torn and scratched, his sleeves were also torn up on the forearms, the gloves were scratched and damaged from holding blades.

He stretched for a moment and said—

"I am really worried about maa... She falls sick even when i am just half an hour late from the school.... I can't even imagine what she might be going through right now."

He brought one hand to his face and covered his eyes and groaned. He said—

"... Argh!... Why the hell did i have to remember them near the end?!... It took me 3 years to distract myself from my worries... F_ck!... My mine is f_cking trash!"

"Damn it,.. Damn it all.... It was going so smoothly until I remember them again?!"

"No, wait... Deep breath, calm down, calm down. Let's complete this quest and go back home... I am finally near end after all... Haa~,yeah, Let's. Keep. Moving."

"No more worries, these thoughts should be motivation to go back, not a distraction to break down about."

He took another deep breath and gestured the system to open shop window.

He scrolled through the casual outfits on the screen but couldn't find anything good enough until he saw another screen pop up witht the name: "crafting".

There were three sections with rank: " Common, rare, legendary". Typical game style, but what caught his eyes was the forth section named: "material based crafting table" On the other half of the screen.

It looked normal and easy to use crafting table mechanics on the surface, but there was recipe book icon.

He clicks on the icon and another tab pops up with recipe on stuffs, armour, weapons, mana enforced artifacts and common day to day life stuff.

From ancient time to modern time, everything was on the recipe book and he could craft it all, from shields, enchanting table, food and boats of ancient times to the cars, tasers, guns, and even electronics that people use in daily life.

The only need is of the material he would need to make that stuff.

He stood there frozen with wide eyes, not just shocked.

His face, even though covered by the mask, showed a subtle curve of his lips under its softened fibres.

He was smirking in shock and joy together.
