Chapter 1 - chapter 1: The Awakening

"Sigh~ ... Man, life sucks."

Varun was at his home.

He had just graduated from school last month and had nothing to do. He has a good frame of 5'6 and is 18 years old, black hair, brownish-black eyes, and fairly whitish-brown skin.

Handsome, but still average because of being a middle-class man.

No experience in romantic life. He lives with his parents and big brother.

For Varun to think that his life sucks was because his parents never let him go out by himself and never even let him use vehicles, kind of like young prince treatment because he's the youngest in the family and has a physical issue that makes him vulnerable to physical strains.

"Only if I didn't have this hernia, I would've trained my body and looked jacked enough."

Note: an inguinal hernia, which occurs when part of the intestine or other abdominal tissue bulges through a weak spot in the lower abdominal wall into the groin area.

"I want this to be cured. Tch– .. Dad thinks surgery will cure anything... Sigh, I am already 18... And surgery will block my way to train for almost 4 to 5 months. I don't know if I can grow taller anymore."

His dad and brother both were 5'9, while he himself was just 5'6.

Suddenly his mom called him:

"Varun! Go to the convenience store and get the dish soap."

He groaned.

"Sigh, give the money!"

He went to the convenience store, scrolling on his phone reading Korean comic, that's where he starts to think.

Making stories in his mind.

"If I had a system like this, would it cure my hernia? Even if it would, it should force me to grow just like him (webtoon character), make me grow limitless and force me to become stronger than anyone or anything ever was."

He got his head hit on the pole suddenly.

"IGH! Tch– my head!"

He touched his head where he got hurt, then the pole.

"My life really is hell, sigh~ I can't believe I got hurt in this way... I really am stupid."

Suddenly the weather started to get weird, like really weird.

Gray sky with storm-like winds coming up. Varun wasn't surprised or shocked.

He was dreaming again, dreaming to die and reincarnate into another world, or his past self from years ago.

Yeah, he doesn't have any specific dream on where he wants to live after reincarnation.

He just has this thought because of watching too much anime.

"It's been years since I have been asking for death... I don't think God even exists.. If he does... Strike the great thunder on me and give me death for a new life."

He scoffed, thinking that it'll just be another day of bullshit thoughts of his daydreaming, but...

Suddenly the lightning fell on him.

"Huh?"

That's it... That's all he managed to say when that happened. His body roasted, dead, gone. What was left was just a soul, which was floating in an endless quantum-like place—like a sea but no fish, like space but no stars, black but not dark, like a place filled with clouds.

"Where... Am I?... I can't... Feel my body... But it hurts... Somewhere... In my chest... A–Am I– ... Am I dead?"

It wasn't a visible soul like in anime or movies.

It was just a white irregular-shaped body which was neither human nor anything distinguishable.

"I... I can't be dead... I can't... But wait–... Wasn't this what I always asked for... Death... So why don't I want to die now?... M.. Mom... Dad... Brother~... No.. No no no no! I can't die... I have my family!"

He was conflicted.

He didn't know why he didn't want to die anymore.

He just wanted to go back... Wanted to live the very life he had, continue it from the way he left.

"I.. I can't die... NOT... YET!"

He started to move... The irregular-shaped soul started to take a human shape, swimming through the impossible sea of nothingness and clouds.

"I.... LET ME GO BAAAAAAACK!!"

BAAAM!

Something exploded somewhere near?... No, it was he himself... His soul exploded.

Silence. For a long time there was no movement, until 10 minutes later a system window popped up.

[Congratulations, player. You have met the conditions to use the system, initiating respawn]

He woke up.

Not where he died.

But in the past.

Not too far back in time like he daydreamed about, just 5 years back.

Back in 2020, the time when the coronavirus pandemic was around the world.

"EH!?.. Haa.. Haa.. Haa... W– What?.. Where... Where am I?.. Wait? ... Wasn't this the government quarter we were living in corona time?"

His brother "Priyansh" smacked him on the head.

"What are gawking around for?... Get your ass up from the bed and come for breakfast."

He was shocked and thought in his mind:

"Wait what?.. Brother?... But he was in college... He still had a year before coming back... And... How is he like a teenager suddenly?"

"Uh, .. Y–yeah... Coming... Just a minute, I'll come after getting fresh."

Priyansh eyed him suspiciously because of the way he was acting.

"Okay then do it fast, or you'll get your ass whooped by mom."

Varun was having chaos in his mind about what's going on and how he ended up here.

"Calm down, calm down. This has to be some sick joke."

pinches cheek

"Ow ow ow~... No it's not.. It's not."

"I really got back in 2020... what might have happened after I died there?... Am I even in the same world? Or is this a parallel universe where time hasn't moved forward yet?... Whatever it is... I want to know what happened after that... I want to!"

Few minutes ago, when his soul was exploded, there were constellations from 5 universes who got freed because of the extreme emotions that were exerted by Varun.

First came out the "constellation of wolf" from universe 10 with a guttural howl.

Second came out the "constellation of skeleton" from universe 6 with a non-human scream.

Third came out the "constellation of shadows" from universe 57, coming out like a shadow and creating a dominant presence.

Then came the "constellation of chaos" from universe 0 with a maniacal laugh that echoed through the omniverse.

And finally came a figure covered in the darkness of space. The "constellation of everything" from universe 0, with a simple amused scoff and a red glowing eye over his darkness-covered smile.

"Heh... Finally, the game has begun once again after 47 eras of the omniverse."

It was a deep voice, deep and ominous.
