Chapter 66 - Chapter 66 – Atomic Collapse and the Cat That Boosts Everything

The notification echoed clearly in Ethan Blake's mind.

"Successful Summoning: Summoning to obtain the inheritance of the ability 'Atomic Collapse.'"

Ethan froze for a moment, surprise flashing across his face. For a split second he wondered if he had misheard the system, but the flood of information that followed immediately confirmed it. This was absolutely real.

"Atomic Collapse: A Level 5 superpower originating from the Forbidden World. The ability allows the user to prevent electrons from transforming into particles or waves, maintaining them in a pure electronic state and releasing them directly. When the atom 'collapses,' it unleashes a special blue-white electron beam similar to lightning. The beam can tear through metal like paper, dissolve thick walls, and pierce shields and bodies simultaneously."

Ethan slowly exhaled, his eyes lighting up with excitement. Now this was a serious pull.

He was naturally familiar with Atomic Collapse. It was the signature power of the fourth-ranked Level 5 esper from that world, a woman whose destructive capability was infamous. Her ranking sat just below the famed Railgun user, but the difference wasn't about raw power. In terms of sheer destructive force, Atomic Collapse was actually stronger than the Super Electromagnetic Cannon.

The reason it ranked lower was simple: control.

The ability was notoriously difficult to manage. It couldn't easily produce wide fan-shaped attacks, and dealing with large-scale saturation assaults was a major weakness. Because of that instability, its user had always struggled to fully dominate battlefields the way the Railgun could.

But as Ethan considered the limitation, he couldn't help smiling.

For him, that drawback meant absolutely nothing.

Too powerful to control?

Why would he even need to control it?

This was the Marvel universe. Planet-busting monsters appeared as casually as stray dogs on the street. If he could fire a beam that punched a hole straight through the Earth with a single atomic collapse, Ethan would honestly consider that barely adequate.

As for the inability to launch wide fan attacks, he wasn't worried in the slightest. Atomic Collapse wasn't his only ability. If he needed large-scale coverage, his telekinesis could easily handle that job.

Satisfied, Ethan raised his right hand.

He flattened his palm, holding it steady in front of him. A faint blue-white glow formed a few centimeters above his skin, slowly condensing into a small sphere of light that pulsed with terrifying energy.

The air around it hummed.

In the next second, the sphere suddenly stretched into a blazing beam of blue-white lightning and shot forward.

The wall in front of him melted instantly. The beam didn't just punch through it—it dissolved the reinforced structure as if it were butter under a blowtorch. The streak of light then continued upward, slicing through the ceiling and vanishing into the sky before abruptly disappearing.

Ethan inhaled sharply.

That power was a little ridiculous.

Just moments earlier, he had deliberately placed a telekinetic barrier in front of the beam to test it. The result had been immediate and brutal. Atomic Collapse passed through the psychic barrier like it didn't even exist, piercing it without slowing down at all.

He couldn't help nodding to himself.

Not bad. Another excellent trump card.

"Let's keep going," he muttered with growing anticipation.

The system responded immediately.

"Successful Summoning: Summoned item obtained — 'Dragon-Turning Pot.'"

A beautifully carved cooking pot appeared in his hands, decorated with intricate dragon patterns. Ethan stared at it in confusion, turning it over and inspecting the details.

What exactly was this supposed to be?

A moment later, the system transmitted the explanation directly into his mind.

"Dragon-Turning Pot: A legendary kitchen utensil. Any ingredients placed inside will be cooked instantly."

Understanding dawned on him immediately.

So it came from that famous culinary world. It didn't increase his combat power at all, but Ethan still felt fairly satisfied with the pull.

After all, there was a saying he firmly believed in: nothing in life should be neglected more than good food and love.

Ethan had always cared about eating well. From that perspective alone, the Dragon-Turning Pot was incredibly appealing. The idea of tossing ingredients into a pot and instantly producing a finished dish was honestly amazing.

If he opened a restaurant in New York using this thing, the place would probably explode with popularity overnight.

Then Ethan paused mid-thought.

Wait.

Why would he open a restaurant?

He shook his head and chuckled at himself before storing the Dragon-Turning Pot inside his golden storage space.

"Next summon."

"Successful Summoning: Summoned item obtained — 'Monkey Charm.'"

A brown stone talisman appeared in his palm. Carved into its surface was the image of a stylized monkey.

"Monkey Charm: Also known as the Transformation Charm. It possesses the power of change and represents transformation. The holder can turn any object into any animal and may freely transform themselves or others. These transformations alter body structure, reorganizing cells and molecules to change species attributes. However, it cannot grant life to inanimate objects and cannot transform non-living things such as money or vehicles."

Ethan immediately recognized it.

The Monkey Charm from the world of Jackie Chan Adventures.

He studied the talisman thoughtfully. It was a little unfortunate that it wasn't the Dog Charm, which granted immortality, but compared to charms like the Pig, Chicken, or Ox, the Monkey Charm was still extremely versatile.

Curious, Ethan activated it.

In the next instant, his appearance shifted rapidly.

Tony Stark.

Nick Fury.

Pietro.

Thor.

Wanda.

His face changed again and again as he experimented, effortlessly cycling through different forms. After playing around with the transformations for a while, Ethan finally returned to his normal appearance and tucked the charm away.

"Next summon."

"Successful Summoning: Summoned item obtained — 'Translation Konjac.'"

"Translation Konjac: A magical future item from the world of Doraemon. Consuming it allows the user to understand any language, including alien languages. The effect applies to both speech and written text, enabling full communication."

Ethan stared at the single piece of konjac in his hand with mild disappointment.

Compared to other Doraemon items he had drawn before, this one felt a bit underwhelming. The honesty pills had come in an entire bottle with dozens of capsules. This thing, on the other hand, was just a single serving.

Low quantity and nothing particularly flashy.

He shrugged and stored it away anyway.

"Continue summoning."

"Successful Summoning: Pet obtained — 'Magic Cat Yuumi.'"

"Magic Cat Yuumi: A magical cat from Bandle City. Formerly the companion spirit of a witch, Yuumi possesses powerful magical energy. The affectionate cat seeks friendly partners and protects them with abilities such as Flash Shield and Resolute Will. Yuumi enjoys fish and long naps."

A soft meow sounded in the room.

A small, light-blue cat suddenly popped out from a floating magical book and jumped straight onto Ethan's shoulder.

The kitten was only slightly larger than a human palm. It rubbed its head against Ethan's cheek with obvious affection, its fluffy tail swaying lazily behind it.

Even before considering its abilities, Ethan already felt like he had profited from this summon.

Because one universal truth existed in the world.

Cuteness was justice.

After carrying Yuumi on his shoulder for a while, Ethan decided to test her abilities.

"Yuumi, let's try it out," he said.

The cat gave a cheerful meow before leaping back toward the floating book. The magical book flipped open, and Yuumi suddenly dove straight into Ethan's body.

This was Yuumi's possession ability.

The moment the bond formed, Ethan felt a warm wave spread through his entire body.

He carefully sensed the changes and quickly discovered something surprising.

Every aspect of his power had increased.

His physical strength, magical energy, and mental capacity had all risen by roughly thirty percent compared to his normal state.

For someone with Ethan's already massive base power, a thirty-percent increase was absolutely terrifying.

Just imagine it.

His telekinesis could already exert about three thousand tons of force. With Yuumi's possession boosting him, that number jumped to nearly four thousand tons.

Even his shadow clone ability had changed.

Previously he could create a maximum of six clones. With Yuumi attached, the limit instantly increased to eight.

Ethan blinked in disbelief.

This cat was absurdly strong.

And the most incredible part was that possession was only one of Yuumi's four abilities. The remaining three skills would need testing later when the environment was more suitable.

For now, Ethan left Yuumi merged with him. The comfortable warmth was honestly hard to give up.

"Next summon."

"Successful Summoning: Inheritance obtained — 'Flowing Water Rock Shattering Fist.'"

"Flowing Water Rock Shattering Fist: A martial art that moves like flowing water yet strikes with the force of shattering stone. The technique allows the user to smoothly deflect enemy attacks, predict movements in advance, and exploit openings to counterattack."

Ethan nodded approvingly.

This was a very solid pull. It directly compensated for one of his current weaknesses—close combat skill.

If he combined this martial art with Observation Haki and Armament Haki in the future, the results would become even more terrifying.

He then glanced at the system interface.

The summoning energy bar had dropped dramatically. Only about 150% remained, meaning there was just enough energy left for one final summon.

Ethan took a slow breath and clasped his hands together in mock prayer.

"Yuanshi Tianzun, Buddha, all the gods in heaven," he muttered quietly. "I'm willing to sacrifice Pietro's lifetime luck with women. Just let this final summon give me something insanely good."
