"Great Master, no matter what it is, I, Kyle, am willing to fight for you!" Kyle roared with unrestrained enthusiasm, his entire body trembling as he felt the surge of strength coursing through his veins. The power inside him felt endless, and the growing thirst for blood only made the sensation more intoxicating.
Immortality. Power. Everything he had ever dreamed of was now his, and the sheer joy of it made his gratitude overflow.
Who cared about a scratch? If that was the price for this kind of strength, he'd take it a hundred times over.
Watching Harley's increasingly obsessed expression, Locke maintained his composure on the surface, though inwardly he couldn't help but sigh.
Great… she's even worse now.
As for Kyle, Locke wasn't convinced that the man's fanaticism was entirely genuine. There was calculation behind his eyes, ambition layered beneath the excitement. However, the instinctive submission radiating from him was real, something that couldn't be faked.
As the one who had transformed them, Locke held a natural dominance over his blood descendants. It wasn't just psychological—it was something deeper, something tied to the very nature of their existence. Like traditional vampire hierarchies, the progenitor held absolute superiority.
Even if he couldn't directly control them like puppets, the pressure alone was enough. In his presence, their strength would be suppressed instinctively, cut down by at least half.
Raising his gloved hand, Locke tapped Kyle lightly.
"Test your strength and speed."
He needed data. He wanted to understand exactly what kind of creature he had created—what abilities they possessed, and where they stood in terms of power.
Boom!
Kyle's body shot forward, his movements explosive as he dashed across the ground. A nearby boulder cracked as he struck it, fragments scattering outward while his expression remained filled with exhilaration. He immediately pushed himself again, running at full speed, testing the limits of his new body.
Locke observed silently, analyzing every detail.
The speed… not quite on par with the elite vampires from certain bloodlines. But the strength—solid. Possibly even above average.
It seemed the integration of different vampire traits wasn't complete. He lacked the extreme speed of some variants, but his physical power compensated for it.
"You can try transforming others," Locke said calmly.
"Transform others?" Kyle's eyes widened, a spark of realization flashing through them. "You mean… grant others the same power? Turn them into vampires like us?"
Dozens of thoughts raced through his mind in an instant, possibilities branching out endlessly.
Seeing his expression, Locke realized he wouldn't get a clear answer anytime soon and decided not to press further.
There was something else he wanted to test.
In the next moment, his figure blurred, moving at high speed as he passed Harley and Kyle. The two of them reacted immediately, following behind him without hesitation as the three figures vanished into the depths of the forest.
An abandoned factory stood in silence, its broken windows rattling faintly in the cold wind.
Boom!
"Ah! Fuck! Fuck! You bastards—do you even know who I am?!" A white man hung suspended from a beam inside the factory, his body swaying slightly. Blood dripped steadily from his face, his upper body stripped bare and exposed to the biting cold air.
Around him stood three men in heavy leather jackets. At the center was a tall, bald man with a cruel grin stretched across his face.
"You're just the guy I'm about to beat," the bald man sneered.
He reached into his pocket and pulled out a pair of brass knuckles with jagged edges, slipping them over his fingers with deliberate slowness.
"No, no—wait! There's been a misunderstanding!" The bound man's face twisted with fear, his voice trembling as he tried to plead.
He didn't get the chance to finish.
The bald man's fist drove forward, smashing into his abdomen with brutal force.
Poof!
The blow landed with a sickening sound as the knuckles tore through flesh. Five bloody holes opened instantly across his stomach, blood spraying outward like a burst pipe.
"AAAAHHHH—!"
His screams echoed through the factory, sharp and desperate, but the bald man only laughed, joined by the two black men beside him.
"This guy… wasn't he acting all tough earlier?" one of them mocked, grinning.
"Kid, you shouldn't have shown off in front of us," another added with a sneer. "Don't worry, we'll take good care of your girlfriend. Hehehe…"
The cruel laughter that followed filled the air.
"Ah—you animals! My family won't let you get away with this!" the bound man cried, tears mixing with saliva as he struggled helplessly.
Poof!
"Wow, I'm terrified," one of the men said mockingly, clutching his chest in exaggerated fear. His twisted movements made the others laugh even harder.
But just as he opened his mouth to continue, his body jerked violently.
In the next instant, he was yanked upward, as if seized by an invisible force, vanishing toward the ceiling in a blur.
The sudden silence froze the other two men in place.
"…Bro?" one of them called out uncertainly.
They turned around, confusion quickly turning into unease. The man who had been standing there just moments ago had vanished completely.
Their eyes scanned the empty factory, but there was nothing—no trace, no sound, no sign that he had ever been there.
"…What the hell?"
"Fuck!"
One of them pulled out a pistol, his hands shaking slightly as he looked around in panic. The bound man, trembling, seemed to realize something and slowly lifted his head.
Above him—
A blood-soaked face hung upside down, suspended from the beam. The man's eyes were wide, his body twitching as something clung to him from above, gnawing at his flesh.
A shadow crouched there, feeding.
"Oh my God… shit!" the gunman shouted, raising his weapon without hesitation.
Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!
Gunfire erupted, bullets tearing through the air as he fired wildly—even at his own companion's body.
The other man dropped to the ground in terror, following his gaze upward just in time to see a dark shape dart across the beam before disappearing into the shadows.
A mangled corpse fell heavily to the ground, kicking up dust.
Neither of them cared.
Fear consumed them completely as they spun around, backs pressed together, scanning every corner of the factory.
"What the hell was that?!"
"Fuck, fuck—what is this?!"
Their voices trembled as they cursed, their eyes darting between the darkness.
"Hahaha… die… die together!" The bound man suddenly burst into laughter, his expression twisted with madness as he stared at the chewed-up corpse on the ground.
"Shut the hell up!" the gunman snapped, pulling the trigger again.
Bang!
The bullet struck the bound man in the chest, cutting off his rambling and replacing it with a pained groan.
But that moment of distraction cost him.
A figure dropped silently from the beam above, slamming into him and driving him to the ground.
His eyes widened in terror, catching only a glimpse of sharp fangs before his body went rigid. His limbs trembled uncontrollably as the creature on top of him sank its teeth into his neck.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Desperate gunfire rang out again as the last man emptied his magazine into the attacker. But the bullets barely did anything—only causing slight twitches in the creature's body.
The gun slipped from his hand.
Panic overwhelmed him as he scrambled toward the factory exit, crawling and stumbling over himself in a blind attempt to escape.
Too late.
A graceful figure lunged forward, slamming him to the ground with terrifying speed.
A choking, gurgling sound filled the air, thick with blood and broken breath, echoing through the factory.
