Chapter 64 - Chapter 64 – The Guardian of the Rainbow Bridge

Everything reflected inside the glowing ring showed the entrance to the Rainbow Bridge in Asgard. The circular golden hall stood tall and majestic, its structure vast and solemn, while the dark-skinned warrior standing on the raised platform held a massive sword in silent vigilance. Every detail appeared incredibly clear, as if the scene were unfolding directly in front of them.

And in truth, that was exactly the case.

Ethan could see everything on the other side perfectly. From the polished floor of the hall to the towering pillars and the armored guardian standing watch, nothing escaped his sight.

However, the opposite side could not see him.

By using the Cosmic Cube to lock onto Asgard's spatial coordinates, Ethan had created something similar to a one-way mirror. A thin spatial barrier separated the two locations. He could observe Asgard freely, but those on the other side could not detect his presence.

At least, that was true for most people.

Heimdall was different.

The guardian stood silently on the platform, his eyes closed as always. Yet after a moment, his eyelids twitched slightly and his brow tightened.

Then his eyes slowly opened.

Within his pupils, faint starlight shimmered, forming patterns that resembled a rainbow galaxy. His gaze was deep and boundless, as though it could pierce through the very fabric of reality.

He looked upward.

His sight crossed layer after layer of space and time until it landed directly on Ethan.

Ethan noticed the moment Heimdall locked onto him.

Instead of being surprised, he simply smiled back.

Heimdall possessed the legendary Eyes of Heimdall, a vision said to perceive every corner of the universe. If Ethan's abilities could be described as a rule-breaking existence, then Heimdall's sight was something like the perspective of a god.

"Hello, Heimdall," Ethan said with a friendly smile.

His voice didn't echo through the laboratory behind him, nor did it travel through the portal as normal sound would. Instead, it carried across the spatial barrier directly to Heimdall alone.

The guardian heard it clearly.

"Who are you?" Heimdall asked in a deep voice.

"I'm from Earth," Ethan replied calmly. "My name is Ethan Cole. It's a pleasure to meet you."

His tone was polite and relaxed, almost as if he were greeting someone at a formal reception.

Heimdall's expression, however, remained serious.

"I sensed a disturbance in the Rainbow Bridge," he said slowly. "An external force is interfering with its spatial flow. Was that your doing?"

"Yes," Ethan answered without hesitation. "That was me."

He then extended a hand toward Jean.

Jean immediately understood his intention. She stepped forward and stood beside him, her posture calm and composed as always.

Without another word, the two of them stepped forward together.

They crossed the glowing circular portal.

The next moment, they emerged directly at the entrance of the Rainbow Bridge in Asgard.

Behind them, the portal still shimmered faintly. Inside its pale blue glow, the distant image of Ethan's underground laboratory could still be seen.

Ethan glanced upward.

Standing ahead of them on the platform was Heimdall.

The guardian's brows were tightly furrowed now. He had already risen to his feet, and the enormous sword that had been resting in the center of the platform was now firmly gripped in his hand.

"How did you do that?" Heimdall asked in a grave voice.

Ethan raised an eyebrow slightly.

"You mean how I got here?" he asked.

Behind him, the pale blue portal continued to ripple softly, revealing glimpses of the laboratory far away on Earth. Ethan simply smiled and gestured toward it.

"As you can see," he said casually, "I used a special method."

Heimdall's expression hardened immediately.

"Intruder," he said coldly. "No matter what method you used, you have violated the laws of Asgard. Prepare yourself to face punishment."

Ethan waved his hand lightly.

"No, no," he said with a faint smile. "There's no need to rush into a fight. I'm only here out of curiosity."

He tilted his head slightly while studying Heimdall.

"But if you insist on attacking," Ethan added calmly, "then you'll become my enemy."

"Are you sure you want that?"

Heimdall did not answer.

By this point he had already tightened his grip on the sword.

He was an Asgardian—one of the mythical gods of legend, the sworn guardian of Asgard itself. Known as the Watchman of the Rainbow Bridge, he possessed strength far beyond that of ordinary beings.

And when he moved, he moved like a storm.

The instant he stepped forward, a powerful gust of wind burst outward from his body.

If Captain America represented the physical peak of human potential, then Heimdall represented the peak of Asgardian strength. His already formidable physique was enhanced by powerful mystical energy that flowed constantly through his body.

His sword cut through the air in a blazing arc.

The blade ignited with fiery streaks of light as it swung forward. If that strike landed on steel, it could easily cleave it cleanly in half.

For ordinary opponents, the attack would have been unstoppable.

But Ethan and Jean were not ordinary opponents.

Ethan simply sighed quietly and shook his head.

Then he raised his hand.

With a casual flick of his fingers—

Heimdall's body froze.

The guardian remained suspended mid-strike, his sword raised high above his head. Golden armor gleamed across his powerful frame as the ground beneath his feet cracked from the force of his halted movement.

Spiderweb fractures spread across the stone floor.

The sword still burned with fiery energy, and powerful magic surged through Heimdall's body as he tried to force himself forward.

Yet none of it mattered.

To Ethan, stopping him required nothing more than a single thought.

It was as if an invisible spell had locked Heimdall in place. No matter how much strength he used, his body refused to move even an inch.

"I told you not to attack," Ethan said with mild exasperation. "I really don't have any bad intentions. I just came here because I was curious."

As he spoke, he gently pulled Jean forward.

The two of them walked past Heimdall as if passing an unmoving statue.

As they crossed the platform, Ethan added one more sentence.

"You can inform King Odin," he said calmly. "I'm actually looking forward to meeting him."

The next moment, Ethan and Jean disappeared from the platform.

For nearly two full minutes, Heimdall remained frozen in the exact same posture.

Then suddenly—

The invisible restraint vanished.

"Whoosh—!"

His body lurched forward several steps before he managed to stop himself. Heimdall immediately turned toward the distant city of Asgard, his expression grave and full of concern.

"My King," he said urgently.

"Asgard has been invaded. Two humans from Earth—a man and a woman—have appeared here. I am not their opponent."

Heimdall immediately contacted Odin.

As the eternal guardian of the Rainbow Bridge, he possessed a special connection that allowed him to communicate directly with the All-Father.

Moments later, a deep and ancient voice echoed through the air.

"I already know."
