Cameos in The Big Bang Theory

Season 1 - Episode 6 - Part 1

Penny woke up slowly on Thursday morning, sunlight slipping through the blinds and warming her face. She groaned softly, stretching her arms overhead, the sheets tangling around her bare legs. Her body felt heavy in that pleasant, lazy way after sleeping in. She reached for her phone on the nightstand and squinted at the screen. October 30th. Halloween was tomorrow night.

A little smile crept across her face as the idea that had been floating around in her head for the past week finally solidified.

A Halloween party. Right here in her apartment. Nothing huge or fancy—just drinks, snacks, music, and people in costumes having a good time. It would be the perfect way to blow off steam after yet another string of disappointing auditions and endless long shifts at the Cheesecake Factory.

She thought back to the past couple of weeks with a sigh. Monday's audition for a toothpaste commercial had gone nowhere—the director kept telling her to "smile with more enthusiasm" while barely looking up from his phone. Tuesday was even worse: a one-line role in a low-budget horror short where the casting director had cut her off mid-scene to take a call. Wednesday's callback for a car insurance ad had ended with them saying she was "too pretty" for the "relatable mom" role. Too pretty. As if that was somehow a bad thing in this town. Every rejection stung a little more than the last, chipping away at the optimism she'd arrived in LA with.

Penny rubbed her eyes and sat up, swinging her legs over the side of the bed. The rejections were starting to feel heavier lately. She'd moved here chasing big dreams, but lately it felt like she was just spinning her wheels—serving cheesecake by day and getting polite "we'll call you"s by night. A party would be good. Something fun, light, and completely unrelated to acting. A chance to laugh, dance, and forget about all the closed doors for one night.

She got out of bed, still wearing just a thin tank top and panties, and padded barefoot to the bathroom. The shower felt amazing as she turned it on full blast and stepped under the hot spray. Water cascaded over her shoulders, easing the tension in her back from carrying heavy trays the day before. She lathered up with her vanilla body wash, hands running over her skin as the steam filled the small space. Her mind was already racing with plans.

Who to invite?

The guys across the hall for sure. Leonard would probably stress for days over finding the perfect nerdy costume and then show up looking adorable and awkward. Sheldon would turn whatever he wore into some weirdly educational lecture. Howard would flirt shamelessly with every girl there, and Raj would be adorably silent but sweet. They were strange, but they had become her friends. She liked having them around.

And Wilt… definitely Wilt.

The thought of him showing up made her grin as she rinsed her hair. Tall, confident, with that smile and those strong hands. Just imagining him in a costume made her stomach flutter in a good way.

After drying off, she threw on yoga pants and a loose tee, made coffee, and started a list on her phone: decorations, snacks, cups, punch ingredients, candy. She had the whole day free until her shift swap at the Cheesecake Factory in the afternoon. Perfect.

She headed out around ten, hitting the big party store first. The aisles were packed with orange and black everything. Penny loaded her cart with fake spiderwebs, pumpkin lights, paper lanterns, a plastic skeleton, and a couple bags of cheap candy. She grabbed a big bowl for punch, paper plates, and napkins with little ghosts on them. At the grocery store next door she picked up chips, dip, pretzels, soda, and a few bottles of vodka and juice to mix a strong punch. By the time she got home her arms were full and she was smiling.

Decorating took the rest of the morning and early afternoon. She hung spiderwebs across the ceiling corners, strung pumpkin lights along the walls, and set up the skeleton in a funny pose near the door. She arranged snacks on the counter and mixed the punch in a big bowl, tasting it and adding a little more vodka "just to be safe." The apartment looked festive and fun by the time she stepped back to admire her work. Not perfect, but good enough for a last-minute party.

She changed into her waitress uniform for the shift swap, still buzzing with excitement. The lunch rush at the Cheesecake Factory was steady but manageable. As she refilled drinks and took orders, her mind kept drifting back to the party. The guys across the hall would definitely come if she asked nicely. And Wilt… she should invite him too.

By mid-afternoon her feet were aching, but the shift ended earlier than usual thanks to the swap. On her way home she stopped by apartment 3B, still in her tight black waitress shorts and white tank top, and knocked on the door.

The door opened, but it wasn't Wilt.

A tall man—easily 6'5"—stood there, dark skin, neatly trimmed short beard, wearing a fitted button-down and slacks like he'd just come from a meeting. He looked a lot like Wilt, but a little older, sharper around the edges.

"Hey," he said, voice deep and smooth with a friendly smile. "You must be Penny. Wilt mentioned the hot neighbor upstairs. I'm Bill, his older brother. In town for a tech exhibit. Staying with him for a few days."

Penny smiled, tilting her head as she looked him up and down. She hadn't expected another tall, good-looking Berhanu brother. "Bill, huh? Nice to meet you. I didn't know Wilt had family visiting. Wilt around?"

"He's in the shower right now. Come on in." Bill stepped aside, holding the door open politely. The apartment smelled like fresh coffee and some kind of spicy takeout warming on the stove.

Penny walked inside, hips swaying naturally in her tight waitress shorts. Bill's eyes followed her for a brief second before he caught himself and closed the door.

"So… what brings you by?" Bill asked, leaning casually against the kitchen counter, arms crossed.

"I'm throwing a Halloween party upstairs at my place tomorrow night," Penny replied, turning to face him with an easy smile. "Nothing crazy. Just drinks, music, costumes, good vibes. I was coming to invite Wilt, but since you're here too, you should come. The more the merrier."

Bill's small grin widened, clearly interested. "Costumes, huh? I might have something I can throw together. What are you going as?"

Penny laughed, leaning on the counter opposite him, her tank top stretching across her chest. "Not sure yet. Something slutty and fun, probably. What about you? Software engineer, right? Maybe a sexy keyboard or circuit board costume?"

Bill chuckled, low and warm, eyes sparkling with amusement. "I was thinking Mario. Wilt can be Luigi. We've done the brother duo thing before at conventions. Classic."

The bathroom door opened and Wilt stepped out, towel wrapped low around his waist, water still glistening on his broad chest and shoulders. His eyes lit up when he saw Penny.

"Penny? Hey, beautiful." He walked over and kissed her cheek, one hand resting casually on her lower back.

Bill watched the easy affection with an amused look, staying quiet for a moment.

"Bill was just telling me about your Mario and Luigi plans," Penny said, her eyes flicking playfully between the two tall brothers. "You two would look really good in overalls. Tall, handsome plumbers coming to fix my pipes."

Wilt grinned, pulling her a little closer. "Only if you promise to sit on our laps and tell us exactly what you want for Christmas, princess."

Penny bit her lip, the flirty energy in the room thickening instantly. "Careful. I might take you up on that. Both of you."

Bill raised an eyebrow, his grin turning a shade more interested. "Bold. I like it."

The three of them chatted easily for the next few minutes, conversation light but charged with teasing. Penny felt the heat between all three of them—the way both brothers looked at her, the casual touches from Wilt, Bill's calm, confident smile. It made her stomach flutter in a good way.

Eventually she straightened up, checking the time on her phone. "Alright, I gotta get ready upstairs. Party starts at eight tomorrow. Don't be late, boys. I expect to see those overalls."

Wilt grinned, still in just his towel. "We'll be there. Mario and Luigi don't miss a good party."

Bill leaned against the counter, arms crossed, that calm, confident smile still on his face. "Looking forward to it, Penny. Should be interesting seeing what kind of trouble you get into in a costume."

Penny laughed, feeling the warmth of their combined attention. "Oh, there will definitely be trouble. The fun kind." She stepped closer to Wilt, rose up on her toes, and gave him a quick but warm kiss on the lips, her hand resting briefly on his bare chest. "See you tomorrow, handsome."

She pulled back and shot Bill a playful wink. "And you too, Mario. Don't forget the hat."

Bill chuckled. "Wouldn't dream of it."

Penny headed out the door, feeling both pairs of eyes on her as she walked down the hallway, hips swaying naturally in her tight waitress shorts. She could practically feel the heat of their gazes following her until she turned the corner toward the stairs. A little thrill ran through her. Tomorrow night was going to be fun.

Back in her apartment, she spent another hour tweaking the decorations, adjusting the lights, and making sure the snack table looked inviting. By the time she was satisfied, it was getting late in the afternoon. She changed out of her waitress uniform into something more comfortable and decided it was time to invite the guys across the hall properly.

She walked over and knocked on the door of 4A.

Leonard opened it a few seconds later, looking a little surprised but happy to see her. Inside, the familiar sounds of nerdy debate filled the apartment—Sheldon's precise voice cutting through Howard and Raj's commentary.

"Hey guys!" Penny said brightly, stepping inside when Leonard held the door open. "I'm throwing a Halloween party upstairs tomorrow night. Costumes, music, cheap beer, the works. You in?"

The room went quiet for a beat. Sheldon, who had been standing at his whiteboard with a marker in hand, immediately shook his head.

"I do not dance," he stated flatly. "Nor do I consume cheap beer. The probability of me deriving any meaningful enjoyment from such an event is near zero. In fact, I would calculate it at approximately 0.037 percent, factoring in the inevitable sensory overload from loud music, poor lighting, and the statistical likelihood of someone spilling something on my clothing."

Howard, lounging on the couch in a graphic tee, raised an eyebrow. "Yeah, I'm with Sheldon on this one. Halloween parties are just excuses for people to wear skimpy outfits and get drunk. Not really my scene unless there's a high probability of making out with a girl dressed as Slave Leia."

Raj just nodded silently from his spot in the armchair, cheeks already turning pink at the mention of costumes and girls. He typed something quickly on his phone and held it up: Too many people. Too loud.

Penny put on her best pleading face, stepping further into the room. "Come on, guys. It'll be fun. I promise. And costumes are required—that's the best part! You guys love dressing up as nerd stuff. Think of it as an excuse to go all out."

Leonard hesitated, rubbing the back of his neck. "I don't know, Penny… I'm not exactly great at parties. Last time I tried to dance I looked like a broken robot."

Penny grinned, pointing at him. "Frodo! You'd make a cute hobbit. Little cloak, hairy feet slippers, the whole thing. You'd pull it off perfectly."
