Chapter 90 - Chapter 90 – The Fall of the Helicarrier

Hum!

A breathtaking scene unfolded before everyone's eyes.

From the rooftop landing platform of the Triskelion, the agents watched the quiet lake below suddenly erupt with violent turbulence. The water churned and spiraled as something massive forced its way upward.

Then, with a thunderous explosion, a gigantic helicarrier burst through the surface.

No one had imagined that beneath the calm lake lay a hidden dock capable of housing an entire aerial warship.

Four enormous anti-gravity engines activated simultaneously, lifting the massive structure into the air. The carrier rose slowly at first, like a steel island breaking free from the earth, before gaining altitude under the tremendous power of its engines.

"Not good!"

Unlike the stunned S.H.I.E.L.D personnel watching the spectacle from the Triskelion's windows, Nick Fury felt cold sweat running down his back.

Panic gripped him.

A terrible sense of helplessness filled his chest.

Hydra had made their move first.

And somehow, they had already taken control of the helicarrier.

"Helicarrier One, respond immediately!" Fury shouted into his headset. "You are operating in violation of regulations. Cancel the launch right now!"

There was no response.

The massive warship continued rising.

Water cascaded down from its flight deck as the enormous vessel climbed higher into the sky, its silver hull gleaming under the sunlight.

"Helicarrier Two, cockpit crew respond!" Fury roared again.

Still nothing.

His voice echoed uselessly through the communication channel.

The realization hit him like a hammer.

Both helicarriers had been launched without authorization.

Hydra had seized them completely.

"No," Fury whispered, his face turning pale. "They can't be allowed to control those carriers."

A terrifying possibility raced through his mind.

Project Insight.

The program had been under development inside S.H.I.E.L.D for years. Its purpose was to monitor and analyze every individual on Earth, identifying potential threats before they could act.

Once a threat was detected, the helicarriers would eliminate it from the sky.

The system could wipe out thousands of targets in minutes.

If Hydra controlled the carriers and altered the targeting program, the results would be catastrophic.

They could simply mark every S.H.I.E.L.D agent as an enemy.

Or worse, they could designate entire populations.

The weapons aboard those carriers could rain destruction across the world.

"Ms. Danvers!" Fury said urgently as he turned to Carol. "Please, use your power and destroy that carrier immediately. If it activates the Insight system, the consequences will be unimaginable."

Before Carol could respond—

Click.

Mechanical sounds echoed from the underside of the rising carrier.

Rows of laser-guided weapon systems extended outward from the ship's belly. The dense arrangement of cannons pointed downward like a forest of steel.

The sight alone was enough to terrify anyone watching.

A wave of panic spread throughout the Triskelion.

"They're targeting us!"

"Oh my god!"

"Something's wrong—run!"

Employees and agents rushed away from the massive glass windows lining the building.

Some people were too stunned to move.

Through the reflection on the windows, they suddenly saw something extraordinary.

A streak of crimson light appeared in the sky.

The beam flashed downward like a divine sword.

Swish!

The red energy struck the center of the helicarrier.

The massive flight deck split apart instantly, sliced as easily as paper.

For a moment, no one understood what they were seeing.

Then the truth became clear.

The entire helicarrier had been cut in half.

Boom!

The two broken halves lost power immediately and plummeted back toward the lake.

They crashed into the water with tremendous force.

Shockwaves rippled across the surface as the destroyed vessel sank.

People across the building stared in disbelief.

"My God… what just happened?"

On the rooftop platform, the S.H.I.E.L.D agents had an even clearer view.

They stood only a few meters away from the man responsible.

"Did you see that beam?"

"That… that was him…"

"This man is terrifying."

Their voices trembled as they stared at Yun Chen.

Even Nick Fury was speechless.

He had known Kryptonians were powerful, but witnessing that kind of destructive precision firsthand was another matter entirely.

The crimson glow in Yun Chen's eyes slowly faded.

Using heat vision to slice through a steel warship had required almost no effort.

Carol glanced at the sky.

The second helicarrier was still rising.

"Can you stop the other one," she asked Yun Chen, "without destroying it?"

Yun Chen nodded casually.

"Of course. That's easy."

The moment he finished speaking, his body lifted into the air.

In an instant, he shot upward with incredible speed. Superflight carried him directly to the deck of Helicarrier Two.

Hum!

Yun Chen landed on the flight deck and calmly stepped forward.

Then he brought one foot down.

Boom!

The enormous vessel stopped rising instantly.

An invisible force pinned it in place.

The massive helicarrier trembled violently as if it had suddenly been burdened with the weight of an entire mountain.

Yun Chen pressed downward slightly.

The result was immediate.

The warship was forced back toward the lake at terrifying speed.

Boom!

Helicarrier Two crashed back into the water with a thunderous impact.

Back on the Triskelion rooftop, Carol crossed her arms.

"Well?" she said sharply. "Why are you still standing there?"

Her gaze swept across the stunned agents.

"Go arrest the remaining Hydra members."

The command snapped everyone out of their shock.

Nick Fury took a deep breath and began issuing rapid orders.

Black Widow, Agent Barton, and Captain America were immediately recalled. Teams were dispatched throughout the building to secure every department.

Their priority was the hidden Hydra base beneath the lake.

Yun Chen showed little interest in the cleanup operation.

Carol, however, was still furious.

She joined the operation personally.

The battle that followed was completely one-sided.

S.H.I.E.L.D agents finally witnessed the terrifying power of Captain Marvel with their own eyes.

Energy blasts that shredded armored vehicles.

Bullets and artillery that failed to harm her body.

Enemies thrown aside like toys.

For the remaining Hydra soldiers, it was a nightmare.

They had been moments away from launching Project Insight and eliminating every obstacle standing in Hydra's path.

Instead, they were crushed within minutes.

Inside a secured office, the final confrontation took place.

Carol stood across the desk from Alexander Pierce.

"So," she said coldly, "now you understand why I'm not someone you should have targeted."

Pierce smiled bitterly.

"You truly are extraordinary," he admitted quietly.

Then his expression hardened.

"But Hydra will still have its miracle."

His voice rose sharply.

"Cut off one head, and two more shall take its place."

"Hail Hydra!"

Bang!

Before anyone could react, Pierce pulled the trigger.

The gunshot echoed through the room as he chose to end his own life.
