Magic.
No one in Asgard doubted their mastery over it. Among the Nine Realms, the Asgardians were famed not only for their strength but also for their profound command of magical arts.
Yun Chen knew that fact better than most.
He had experienced it personally.
Inside the great halls of Nidavellir's forge, the Asgardians had once demonstrated the magic they were so proud of. Their spells had been intricate, powerful, and backed by centuries of divine knowledge.
The result of that demonstration, however, had been tragically simple.
Magical immunity.
Yun Chen's body of steel had already compensated for the traditional weaknesses of Kryptonians. Neither kryptonite nor the supposed vulnerability to magic could truly threaten him anymore.
Now, standing on the battlefield, he watched calmly as powerful magic began gathering around the Asgardians.
The gods who held divine authority stepped forward to cast their spells.
Their hands moved through precise gestures while ancient incantations filled the air. Arcane energy surged outward as the surrounding atmosphere trembled with violent magical fluctuations.
The magic erupted.
Bang!
Frost surged forward like a blizzard. Flames exploded into dazzling fireworks of destruction. Violent storms howled across the field as blazing meteors crashed down from the sky.
Layer after layer of devastating magic descended upon Yun Chen's position.
Yet Yun Chen never moved.
He simply stood there with his hands relaxed at his sides, watching the spectacle unfold. A faint smile lingered on his face, as though he were watching a circus performance rather than a deadly magical assault.
When the roaring winds finally died down and the clouds of dust slowly cleared, a single figure stood in the center of the destruction.
Completely unharmed.
"This…"
"Impossible!"
"How can he still be standing?!"
The Asgardians stared in disbelief.
"Damn it! Those magical fluctuations had no effect at all!"
"But that makes no sense!" another warrior shouted in panic. "Isn't Superman supposed to be vulnerable to magic? Their bodies aren't supposed to resist magical damage!"
The warriors felt their entire understanding of the universe collapsing.
Even Odin's expression tightened slightly.
From his perspective, the barrage of magic had been like throwing stones into a lake. A few ripples had appeared, but nothing more.
Of course, that wasn't entirely accurate.
Hum.
A sleek black suit suddenly materialized over Yun Chen's body.
The Superman combat suit unfolded smoothly across his frame. Constructed from advanced Kryptonian fibers, the suit could compress into a simple crest emblem and reassemble instantly whenever needed.
While Yun Chen's body could easily endure magical attacks, ordinary clothing obviously could not.
Without the suit, the barrage of magic would have shredded his clothes into useless rags.
Yun Chen brushed some dust from his shoulder and looked at the stunned Asgardians.
"That expression," he said with a smile. "Your people in the Dwarf Realm had the exact same look on their faces."
The Asgardians clenched their teeth in rage.
"Bastard!"
"Everyone attack together!" Odin ordered.
The King of Asgard had completely abandoned the pride he once carried as ruler of the Nine Realms. Facing this Kryptonian Superman—who defied everything he thought he knew—he no longer dared to take any chances.
"Kill him!"
The Asgardian warriors surged forward again.
"Together?" a woman's voice suddenly echoed from the sky. "Even the great warriors of Asgard still care about saving face, don't they?"
The Asgardians looked up in shock.
A figure hovered in the air above them.
Before they could even react, a blazing red beam descended from the sky.
It was heat vision.
Szzzt!!
The ground split apart as the beam carved across the battlefield. Several Holy Guard soldiers who failed to dodge in time were sliced cleanly in half.
"Damn it!" one warrior shouted. "Watch out for that beam!"
The Asgardians were instantly on edge.
None of them had expected that the woman descending from the sky possessed such terrifying power.
Was this… another Superman?
It was Foola.
Yun Chen glanced up at her and nodded slightly.
"Not bad," he said. "You've truly become a Superwoman."
Foola hovered calmly in the air, her red-glowing eyes still blazing with power.
"That's thanks to Your Majesty's guidance," she replied respectfully.
Yun Chen blinked.
When exactly did I teach her anything?
He laughed quietly to himself. Apparently she had no problem flattering him.
Before he could say anything else, another gust of wind surged across the battlefield.
Carol Danvers charged forward without hesitation.
"A decorative vase?" one Asgardian sneered dismissively.
In the next moment—
Hum!
A golden cosmic beam erupted from Carol's slender fingertips.
The beam pierced straight through the warrior's head.
Thud.
His headless corpse collapsed onto the ground.
Carol lowered her hand slowly, her expression cold.
"Watch your mouth," she said.
She had originally returned to Earth simply to search for her family. Instead she had stumbled directly into this chaotic battle, and the frustration she had been suppressing finally found an outlet.
"Be careful!"
"That woman is dangerous!"
Hum!
Golden cosmic energy burst from Carol's body.
Brilliant streams of energy scattered like glowing feathers as she launched herself directly into the Asgardian formation.
Puff! Puff!
The attacks struck with devastating precision.
The Asgardians could hardly believe what they were seeing.
This woman looked more like a Hollywood actress than a battlefield warrior, yet she possessed strength that rivaled the gods themselves.
Tyr, the famed God of War, stepped forward with a cold snort.
He ignored the fact that his opponent was a woman and charged forward with brute force, intending to crush her with overwhelming strength.
Hum!
Gravity seemed to bend as Carol's slender arm erupted with explosive power.
Bang!!
Their fists collided violently.
Tyr staggered backward several steps.
"Where did this monster come from…" an Asgardian muttered in disbelief.
But before they could recover, another blazing red beam descended from the sky.
Foola's pupils burned crimson as her heat vision swept across the battlefield.
Slash!
Several Asgardians were cut apart instantly.
Blood sprayed through the air as their bodies split cleanly in two.
"Damn those witches!" someone roared.
No matter how hard the Asgardians tried to understand the situation, they could never have imagined being pushed into such a miserable position by two women.
"Enough!"
Odin raised the Spear of Eternity.
But before he could unleash its power, a violent wind slammed into him.
Yun Chen had already arrived.
Bang!
The collision forced Odin backward more than ten meters.
Such a result would have been unimaginable in the past.
"You're getting old," Yun Chen said calmly.
Odin frowned.
Not long ago, he had only recently awakened from a long restorative slumber. His strength had not yet fully returned to the level of his prime.
Hum!
The air exploded again as Yun Chen launched another punch.
Odin's arms trembled violently from the impact of the previous strike.
Just defending against that one punch had already pushed his body close to its limit.
Bang!!
The second strike landed.
Space itself seemed to distort from the force of the blow. The ground beneath Odin's feet shattered into powder as he was driven backward once more.
His arms were now flushed red.
Even divine power had its limits, and the stress on his body was approaching the breaking point.
Looking at the fractured space around him, it was clear just how terrifying Yun Chen's strength had become.
"Superman…" Odin muttered.
If he had been in his prime, things might have been different.
"But if you think you can underestimate me," Odin said slowly, drawing in a deep breath, "you're mistaken."
The momentum around him shifted.
His breathing stabilized. Even the injuries on his body seemed to fade as divine energy surged through him once again.
"Let me show you what a true god—"
Before he could finish speaking, Odin suddenly heard desperate cries echoing across the battlefield.
They were the voices of his own people.
When he turned his head, he realized that while he had been fighting Yun Chen, the two women had already slaughtered more than half of the Asgardian warriors.
