Chapter 17 - THE HUNT COUNTINUES

Leo stared at Lana's floating phone, his brain still trying to process what he was seeing.

"…How are you flying?" he asked.

Chibi Lana tilted her head politely.

"Master, first — this is not flying. This is called *levitation*."

Leo blinked.

"…That's just flying with extra steps."

Chibi Lana continued calmly.

"This is the result of Miss Lana's second ability."

Leo immediately turned toward her.

"You have another ability?!"

Lana looked just as confused.

"I… didn't know either," she admitted. "When I was coming here, Chibi suddenly received a file in the same folder where my ability was stored."

Leo narrowed his eyes.

"…Same folder as *Heart Replication*?"

"Yes."

Lana nodded.

"I didn't understand most of the options. They were complicated… so I chose the only one I could understand."

Chibi Lana raised a hand proudly.

"Levitation. This ability allows Miss Lana to lift herself and certain objects."

Leo crossed his arms.

"So basically… telekinesis."

"You may interpret it that way," Chibi Lana replied, "but her mechanism differs slightly."

Lana looked curious.

"How?"

Leo waved his hand dismissively.

"Leave that. More importantly—"

He pointed at her phone.

"How are *you* feeling right now?"

"…What?"

"You didn't notice?" Leo said. "Your phone is still floating."

Lana turned her head.

Her eyes widened.

"…Oh."

The phone suddenly dropped—

—but before it could hit the ground, it stopped mid-air again and gently floated.

Lana stared at it.

"I… don't know."

Leo sighed.

"…We'll figure it out later."

Before they could continue—

Leo's phone lit up.

Chibi Leo appeared.

This time, his expression was serious.

"There are more important matters right now."

Leo raised an eyebrow.

"…Like?"

Chibi Leo stared directly at him.

"If you forgot, you currently have a hole in your chest."

Leo froze.

"…Right."

He slowly looked down.

The hole was still there.

Air passed through it slightly.

"…Why don't I feel pain there?" he asked.

Chibi Leo answered immediately.

"Pain overload."

Leo blinked.

"…What?"

"You are already experiencing extreme pain," Chibi Leo explained. "Your brain cannot process additional pain signals."

Leo's voice trembled slightly.

"…Is that bad?"

Chibi Leo didn't hesitate.

"Yes."

Leo's face paled.

"…So I'm—"

"Don't become a crybaby," Chibi Leo interrupted coldly. "Accept your fate."

Silence.

Lana looked at Leo carefully.

"…What are you thinking?"

Leo quickly looked away.

"Nothing important," he said. "Don't worry about it."

He clapped his hands once.

"More importantly — why are you hunting that rabbit?"

Lana answered simply.

"Because the king asked us to."

Leo nodded.

"…Fair."

Then she added, smiling slightly,

"If we succeed, he will give us as much money as we want."

"…Ah."

Leo smirked.

"So that's what you're excited about."

"Hehehe."

Leo turned toward his floating phone.

"Hey, Chibi. Where is that rabbit now?"

Chibi Leo yawned slightly.

"I knew its location earlier… but thanks to your excellent time-wasting skills, it has moved."

Leo frowned.

"…You're useless."

Before Chibi Leo could respond—

Chibi Lana appeared cheerfully.

"Do not worry, Master. We can track it from its last known location."

Leo looked at her.

"Where?"

"Castle garden."

Leo nodded immediately.

"Alright. Let's go."

He turned toward Lana.

"Grab your gun."

Lana hesitated.

"…Leo."

He paused.

"Are you sure about this?" she asked. "You still have a hole in your chest."

Leo shrugged casually.

"If people see it, they'll talk for a bit and forget. I don't care."

Lana looked unsure—but didn't argue further.

"…Okay."

### Walking Through the Kingdom

They stepped out onto the streets.

People noticed immediately.

Whispers spread.

"Is that… a hole in his chest?"

"…How is he even alive?"

"Is this some kind of magic?"

Lana glanced nervously at the crowd.

"…They're staring."

Leo walked forward without stopping.

"Let them," he said calmly. "If we care about what people say, we'll never finish our mission."

Lana stayed close beside him.

Slowly, the whispers faded behind them.

### Castle Garden

The garden was quiet.

Too quiet.

Tall trees surrounded the area, their leaves barely moving in the wind. Flowers bloomed in perfect arrangement, yet something felt… off.

Leo stepped forward carefully.

"…So this is the last location."

He placed his hand on a nearby tree.

"…If I were a murderous rabbit…"

He slowly looked upward.

His eyes widened slightly.

"…Found you."

On a branch above—

The rabbit sat.

Its red eyes glowed faintly.

Its body was calm.

Too calm.

Lana raised her gun instantly.

"There!"

The rabbit didn't move.

It simply stared at them.

Then—

Flames began to form again.

Leo exhaled slowly.

"…Round two."

The air grew tense.

The hunt had resumed.

And this time—

They were ready.
