Casters point of view
I sit on the wagon looking out at the wilderness. Kai is at the front I'm at the back. I flip a coin, bored out of my mind. Mordret hasn't attacked even once. The awakened deal with most Nightmare Creatures. At the back nothing much comes up. I reach into my bag taking out some of jerky I had made just before this started. I start eating. I haven't had the time to think about it, but what happened to changing star? Why has she not appeared? We have heat seeker, and their echos are around. I hear a snort and I look over at the massive great, no supreme, tyrant, flame of the divine. I huff, heat seeker always fed it. Its so much bigger now, how, I don't know. Heat seeker is so very special like that aren't they? It turns its head to me, it stops walking for a few seconds. The wagon passes it. I look down at the jerky in my hands, and I toss some over to it. Flame of the divine catches it in its jaws with ease.
"You started as a demon. A fallen demon. Now look at you"
it snorts walking alongside the wagon
"I still can't help but remember what you used to be. So many ranks lower, classes lower."
I look up at the bright blue sky
"it makes me feel nostalgic"
there's a long silence, but wait
"if your a tyrant thendon'tt you have human like intelligence?" I
t freezes up, unlike last time its not out of shock.
"You do!"
I point at it standing up, almost falling, but I stay up.
"You've have human level intelligence, you can understand me!"
It speeds up passing the wagon. I jump off running along side it
"hey hey, stop!"
I almost fall but I catch myself
"if you can understand humans, why do you play at being stupid?"
It snorts, unable to speak. But I can make a guess
"is it to not be given harder tasks"
it speeds up again, trying to out run me without actually running.
"Hey stop!"
It takes me a while to finally to finally get the lizard to stop running. Took long enough for the refugees to finally take a small break. Thankfully I don't have to use my aspect but still.
"Ahah I can't believe it. Your not animal like at all."
I have to crane my head to look it in the eyes while it sits like a human. It turns its head away
"has nobody called you out?"
It shakes its head
"not a soul? How has nobody else else figured it out."
I start pacing, this is all insane. I thought i understood it. But I know now I didn't understand flame of the divine, at all. I finally take a seat on the ground next to it.
"I can't believe this. Out of all things, this? Somehow for some gods forsaken reason, this is the one thing i never expected!"
I start laughing, really hard too. This really is funny. I hear a huff from flame of divine, hes annoyed
"how about this, I'll keep your secret, for a price"
he leans down looking me in the eyes, at my level.
"Dont worry it won't be too much. But when the original comes back, you should tell them. Secrets always come out, it just hurts to hold them"
After a few hours we get to moving. I go back to my wagon. I would rather not ride on flame of the divine, he is quite the rough ride I must admit. How they ride on him all the time, I do not know. But from what I've overheard, their driving is just as bad, if not worse. Flame of the divine is over at the front. I go back to eating, a unexpected downside to my flaw is that I need to eat and all that more often, even more so after I use my aspect. Its thankfully not as bad as Athena, but its bad still. Im glad this charm can slowly reverse time on my body, or when active reverse it far far faster. I reach back back into my bag for more food, and I take it out. Looking at my now bloody hand i reach my other hand into it and I take out a mirror shard. The king of nothing, but how?
"Well well well look who it is! It's the lightning slayer himself!"
I don't look up. My chest feels heavy.
"I expected my darling rival to keep it, this is a little offensive. To give the mirror shard i gave them to you! I bet it was that seer they've got, seer of the infinite. Or maybe they thought me annoying, hope not that would be sad"
I keep my head down looking down at my bloody hand.
"Are you going to attack?"
My voice is a whisper. He laughs, loudly too
"not if you don't tell a soul, you can keep that to yourself can't you? Although the last big sec-"
i shove the mirror shard into my bag.
"What do you want?"
He makes a tisk sound, I can imagine him shaking his head
"oh you lower class legacies. Always so self focused, can I not joke around with you?"
He laughs yet again. There's a heat in my chest that won't go away even with the cold wind
"but to be frank, I just want to know a few things."
I take a deep breath and I wipe the blood off my hand
"that is?"
"Oh well you know, about the forgotten shores, about a certain someone"
his voice is very chipper
"I'm sure its easy to find just about everything on changing star"
he scoffs
"now why would I care about her! I know enough about her. About heat seeker. Information about their younger years is very very hard to find"
i look at my hand and I slowly nod
"nothing too personal."
Theres another laugh. That guy loves to laugh doesn't he?
