Heat seeker, death Pov
I fly through the dark sky of the forgotten shores.
"Monarch"
i glance over at the king of ashes. His crown had turned into the pull body armor, with the dragon wings included, that he's using to fly.
"Yes?"
He let's out a tisk like hes trying to figure out what to say
"why exactly aren't we with the other two sovereigns?"
I sigh heavily
"those two were having a moment. Another thing, why have you been calling me monarch?"
"Oh the spider queen calls you that"
I turn my head with a very unentertained expression
"you know thats a reference to monarch butterflies?"
He thinks for a second
"so its a play on the wings and the fact your a supreme"
i laugh slightly.
"Yeah, a 'i got you in my web' joke."
He looks away now clearly embarrassed.
"I suppose im not very used to the way people talk in the war realm"
I flip over saying on my back, its not like it matters, the wings of fire don't really care in what way I'm flying.
"I would say maybe you should visit ravenheart, but its still not a very good idea your as tall as a house"
he looks away.
We don't talk for some time.
"What do you know about the tomb and the area around it?"
He thinks for a while
"the battle in the hell of Ariel happened earlier on in the war. From what I've heard shadow god took away shadows from both armies trapping them in a forever war. I personally lost someone i was... a little close to who was on the same side as me"
i hum quietly
"let's see.... from what else I know you can only get close to it at night. At the time i was focused on something else."
We don't talk for a while
"what...happened.... with the chimera?"
I hear a creek, he's clenching his hands
"that incident. I was 21 at the time. I was always so focused on the honor of my family"
I can believe that, from what i remember he had been so focused on it, to the point he put everyone around him in danger
"I went to hunt it, alone. I thought because of how young I awakened there was no chance I could die. Oh how wrong I was. It killed every servant, but one. A few years younger then I was"
the person who i was in the first nightmare most likely. I try not to react, its also winter beast most likely.
"And well. We traveled together for some time. Until we got to a ravine."
He takes a deep breath. Thats when i pushed him back in my first nightmare wasn't it?
"We went down, but the servant had no way to get up in time. So we went into a connected cave system."
He goes silent for some time. I can't blame him at all.
"We found the snow crown and the chimera found us."
His voice hitches. I lift my hand
"if you dont want to, you dont have to keep going"
he sighs heavily
"no no. Its fine. When it found us, I tried to hold it back but I was already injured. I was thrown into a wall breaking my leg. The servant, i... I don't even know their name, put on the crown as it attacked them, trying to turn them into one of its minions. I believe that to have broken the crown. It when haywire. The chimera was killed, I barely survived."
He takes a shaky breath
"I spent weeks wandering the cold wilderness. I actually found a frozen abandoned city. I stayed there for a bit. Before I found the snow castle"
I slowly turn my head to look at him. He found it, he found the snow castle? How?
"When I tried to go inside... a enchantment i think, was activated, i saw what really happened."
He laughs, its... sad sounding at best.
"My people always said it was their fault. That the snow kingdom tried to wipe us out and that it was a grand war that we won."
His voice gets slightly louder
"it was a one sided massacre. The snow kingdom didn't do anything wrong, it was the kingdom of war. They... they caused it"
he goes silent turning his head away. I allow him that, I'm not cruel enough to force him to say more. He told me what he wants to tell me.
It takes us, maybe hours maybe days to get to the edge of the forgotten shores and the edge of the Hell of Ariel Neph and sunny won't be here too soon so
"do you want to know the story of the forgotten shores?"
He almost wistfully stares out at the dunes that aren't too far away.
"Oh yes that would be acceptable"
I make a ice chair that I make float with snow storm, a neat trick honestly, and I summon my notebook, that i give to him
"I'll start from the very beginning."
It takes me a hour or two to finish the story. Hes sitting staring at me with a odd look. Or well I think so, that mask makes it hard to tell his face.
"Then I grabbed caster pulling him in with me. Finally escaping the forgotten shores! What i didn't know was nephis was left behind"
he leans forward
"is that so? She escaped"
I wave both arms in the air
"she beat the second nightmare alone!"
He blinks a few times, then he leans forward
"I heard that even the most skilled, strongest awakened could barely do that, and she did it alone as a sleeper"
I nod, I glance over noticing the chain breaker. I gesture to it as i get up.
We arrive at the chain breaker. He lands on the deck. I desummon my wings and I fall from the sky. Sunny barely moves in time to not get landed on
"hey!"
I snicker loudly
"■■■■ I swear, stop trying to jump on me you maniac!"
I grin slinging a arm around him
"karma, for scaring me so bad I used to put my hand through walls."
"I highly doubt thats proportional"
I frown for a few seconds before I slowly turn to look at him.
"Damnation don-"
i cat him off
"I wouldn't call you proportional"
we stare at each other for a few seconds before neph chimes in
"i must disagree"
he turns to neph seeming... is it offended? She has a cheeky look
"neph!"
"What, its a good thing"
seems i took their minds off of the situation, even for a little.
The day soon ends in the hell of Ariel. I stand next to sunny and I unleash my army as sunny does. The only one I didn't take with me is noctis. It's slow moving, with the weaker shades in front, while the stronger shades and my army behind it. My army shoots from the back mostly. While the awakened use shock strikes at major points. I stay away mostly using ice to freeze the more important parts. I am currently quite bored although the battle quite massive. I swing the two daggers slashing apart any deathless that get close. I start whistling a little, I think its the song in the Antarctica movie. I haven't seen it yet, but the song kept getting played when I was around. Apparently me and...
"oh my gods"
i chuckle a little. They accidently did selfsest, thanks to effie i learned that little term, plot line with the angel and devil of Antarctica. That's going into the party bag of things I'll tease sunny with. One has to wonder how in the hell that managed to happen
We keep moving to the tomb. It's slow moving and annoying. Frankly this all is the worst. I've never liked combat, and a long drawn out battle like this is the worst. I walk over to sunny and neph
"i am not imagining it, right? It's closer?"
I look over at the tomb.
"Seems to be. That's great right neph?"
I look over at neph whos very intensely staring at a...
"is that a tree?"
We all look at each other. I shrug and I start going to take a good look. Neph speeds up getting next to me
"Azarax should still be there."
That name... do I remember that name? Sunny walks up "so this is the tree he was stuck on" he was? Oh the skeleton sunny sometimes talks with. We finally get to the tree, its actually kinda pretty looking. That should be the ax... axe guy. Yeah axe. He looks at neph
"Coward! Traitor!"
I glance over at neph. The king of ashes finally lands from doing some minor scouting. The skeleton stays silent for a second before he somehow gets louder
"its you again, you damn brat! Dont think I forgot our last conversation magtin!"
The king of ashes freezes up like a child being scolded
"Azarax. It... it had been a while"
