Kai stared at the Chancellor for a good moment.
Hearing those words come out of the Chancellor's mouth was surreal—and he was attempting to see whether he was hallucinating right now. But it was real. To his surprise, he had gotten the blessing from the Chancellor to become the Red Prince.
Not denied, but accepted.
Of course, Kai came with the intention to make sure that he would not be denied anymore.
But when he was really accepted, he was still stunned.
Frankly, considering their last encounter in this room, he expected a hard fight. Somehow, the Chancellor would make sure that he wasn't going to become this year's red prince. And even if he managed to convince the Chancellor, it would be a hard fight.
Yet that didn't happen.
In fact, it almost felt like the Chancellor wanted Kai to convince him to do this.
To allow Kai to become the red prince.
Kai became emotional inside, but he didn't break in front of the Chancellor.
