Kai opened his eyes and blinked the blurriness away.
His vision adjusted to the surroundings, and almost immediately, a smile curled on his lips.
"Finally…" He inhaled the stale, cold air as if it were fresh air. Ever since the Night Elevation, he hadn't been able to enter the House of Night, and he thought there was something wrong with the Deep Slumber. "But it seemed that's not the case. Either the chance of entering is now lowered, or simply me being unlucky."
Remembering what happened last time, Kai was immediately alerted.
He scanned the area, fearing that the Nightborns were going to rush him as they did.
But there is no Nightborn insight.
And nothing changed, too.
It was still the same House of Night, exactly as he remembered.
