Ming Ye and Zi Han returned home together just as the afternoon light began to soften into evening. The moment they stepped into the quiet expanse of the mansion, the heavy burden of the last three days seemed to evaporate.
Ming Ye turned to Zi Han, pulling out his tie. "Would you llike me to prepare noodles, Sister?"
Zi Han paused, a faint smile touching her lips. "Yeah. I'd like that."
He didn't say anything else. Just gave a small satisfied hum and walked toward the kitchen.
Zi Han headed upstairs to her room. She closed the door, stripped out of her uniform, and stepped into the steaming spray of the shower. As the warm water cascaded over her, she began washing her hair, her movements slowing as her mind drifted.
