Chapter 47 - Vol. 2 - Epilogue

The weeks vanished so fast. 

Katarina couldn't account for where they went. One day she was sitting on the ravine with Vessa talking about forty-minute walks and spirit rails, and the next she was standing in the Talori shop watching Vessa fold a tunic into a travel bag, wondering where the time went.

For the first time in so long, her mind was silent. 

She picked up a shirt from the pile and folded it. Vessa took it, scoffed, refolded it differently, and put it in the bag. Katarina picked up the next one and folded it the same wrong way because she didn't know how Vessa liked her shirts folded, which felt like something she should have known by now. She felt like she should know everything about Vessa by now. 

"You fold like a merchant." 

"This is how you fold shirts."

"That's how you fold contracts. Shirts, babe, are allowed to be soft." She tucked the edges in. "See? Soft."

Katarina rolled her eyes. 

Neither of them said much after that.
