Chapter 229 - 229: The One From the Moon

Tatsumaki knelt before the empty space where Sol had vanished, her green psychokinesis flickering wildly around her like an unstable storm, unable to grasp even the slightest trace of his existence.

Her slender fingers dug into the shattered ground, knuckles turning pale from the force. Tears streamed silently down her face, mixing with the dust coating her cheeks, while her emerald eyes stared blankly at the empty void he had left behind.

Bang stepped forward quickly, placing a hand on Tatsumaki's trembling shoulder. He tried to steady her with a gentle flow of energy, but his own expression had already lost all color. The old martial artist's eyes carried a weight he had never shown before.

"Child... pull yourself together," Bang said hoarsely, though even he could not believe his own words.

Black Sperm's countless clones had completely lost their usual noisy antics. They surged toward the spot where Sol disappeared, scattering and regrouping repeatedly while shrill, chaotic voices echoed everywhere at once.

"Master Sol!"

"He vanished?!"

"No way..."

"That thing..."

"It's terrifying..."

"Should we run?"

"The king is gone..."

Hellfire Flame's fire had completely died out, leaving behind only drifting smoke as he stood frozen in place. Gale Wind's airflow had stopped entirely, his pale face stiff with disbelief.

Gums let out uneasy gurgling noises. Overgrown Rover lowered itself to the ground with its tail tucked tightly beneath its body, releasing fearful whines. Ugly President slowly closed his massive mouth, genuine fear appearing on his face for the first time.

Far away inside the Monster Association's underground base, Psykos watched everything through Gyoro Gyoro. The moment Sol vanished, a violent headache struck her main body.

"So this... is the power of God?" she muttered weakly. "Humanity truly cannot escape extinction."

Gyoro Gyoro's massive pupils flickered through the darkness as Psykos's thoughts spiraled into chaos.

The prophecy about God destroying humanity overlapped with the scene of Sol being erased from existence. She should have felt reverence. She should have trembled before the fulfillment of the prophecy.

Instead, an unbearable sense of panic filled her chest.

"No... this isn't right..." she whispered into the empty cavern. "Even Sol couldn't resist it...?"

She abruptly severed most of her connection to the battlefield, leaving behind only basic surveillance. Her mind needed time to process everything.

The prophecy.

Sol's disappearance.

God's incomprehensible power.

And the cracks now spreading through the faith she once held so firmly.

The battlefield remained silent for only a moment longer.

On the moon, the withered figure stood motionless, its indifferent gaze piercing through space itself as it looked down upon Earth.

There was no mockery in those eyes.

No arrogance.

No hatred.

Only absolute disregard.

As though everything below existed no differently than dust.

And that indifference was more terrifying than rage.

"You bastard!!!"

Metal Bat's furious roar shattered the silence.

Veins bulged across his forehead as he slammed the remains of his bat against the ground and pointed toward the moon.

"What the hell did you do to Sol?! Give him back!"

His voice snapped everyone out of their shock.

"Bat, stop!" Tanktop Master grabbed him immediately, struggling to restrain him. "That thing isn't something we can fight!"

"So what?! We're just supposed to stand here and do nothing?!"

Metal Bat struggled violently, but Tanktop Master's grip refused to loosen.

Genos's mechanical eyes rotated rapidly before locking onto the figure on the moon. The cannons in his palms began glowing with overloaded energy.

"Analysis impossible. Target energy level immeasurable."

His voice sharpened.

"Protect Master. Avenge Sol-senpai."

The High Frequency Incineration Cannons fired at full power.

A massive beam of blazing energy tore through the sky and rushed toward the moon.

Yet before it could even approach the figure, the attack vanished silently, erased as though it had never existed.

No explosion.

No impact.

Not even a ripple.

The figure on the moon had not moved at all.

Genos stared upward in disbelief.

"My attack... disappeared?"

"It is useless," Drive Knight said in a rare tone of helplessness. "The space surrounding the target is completely distorted. Conventional attacks cannot reach it."

"Then I'll use something unconventional."

Tatsumaki's hoarse voice echoed through the battlefield.

Bang looked up sharply as Tatsumaki slowly rose into the air once more.

Her green hair whipped wildly around her, tears still visible on her face, but the despair inside her eyes had already transformed into furious determination.

She extended both hands.

An unprecedented surge of psychokinesis exploded outward.

But this time, her power did not target the moon directly.

Instead, it seized a massive section of land beneath them.

RUMBLE!

The entire earth groaned violently.

Under countless horrified gazes, a gigantic landmass spanning thousands of kilometers began tearing free from the planet itself.

Ruins, mountains, steel, and rock all rose into the sky under Tatsumaki's overwhelming power.

"Move!" Tatsumaki screamed through gritted teeth.

Blood spilled from the corner of her mouth as her body trembled from the strain.

Then she hurled the massive landmass toward the moon like a colossal meteor.

It tore through the atmosphere with catastrophic force, racing directly toward the withered figure.

This was everything she had.

For the first time, the figure on the moon moved slightly.

Its finger twitched.

That was all.

No sound followed.

No light appeared.

The gigantic landmass instantly disintegrated into cosmic dust before it could even approach the moon, scattering silently through space.

"Pfft!"

Tatsumaki coughed up blood violently.

Her psychokinesis collapsed immediately.

Her body fell helplessly from the sky before Bang caught her once again.

Her face had turned completely pale.

Disbelief filled her emerald eyes.

Along with crushing helplessness.

The difference between them was simply too great.
