Chapter 165 - 165: Public Reckoning

Bang stroked his beard, a complicated look in his eyes.

"Sol… this kid still ended up walking this path."

Child Emperor adjusted his glasses, his young face filled with thought.

"Sol's identity needs to be reassessed."

KING stood frozen, his Emperor Engine rumbling loudly. He stared at the collapsing spaceship, his legs trembling slightly.

"Mr. KING is really something," Tanktop Master said, giving a firm thumbs up.

"To stay composed in a situation like this."

"I… I just…" KING's voice shook faintly.

"As expected of the Strongest Man on Earth," Pig God said while stuffing snacks into his mouth, his words muffled.

"He does not even react to something like this."

In the shadows, Muzan and the other demons gathered quietly.

"Our Ancestor has won…" Kokushibou's six eyes shone with admiration.

Daki tugged on Gyuutarou's sleeve.

"Brother, should we go help?"

"Don't be stupid," Gyuutarou replied, shaking his head.

"We would only get in the way."

Akaza clenched his fists, the markings on his face standing out sharply.

"This power… this is the ultimate martial art I've been searching for."

Gyokko hid behind rubble, the pot in his hands continuously pouring out clear water.

"Truly… remarkable…"

Hantengu's four bodies moved busily, helping injured civilians to safety.

Above it all, at the top of the spaceship, Tatsumaki gently ran her fingers through Sol's hair. Her green curls glowed faintly under the setting sun.

"Hey… are you really okay?" Her voice softened without her noticing.

Sol slowly opened his eyes, a faint smile forming.

"Yeah… just a little tired…"

"Idiot…" Tatsumaki turned her face away, the tips of her ears turning slightly red.

"Who told you to show off like that…"

"I'm sorry… for hiding things from you this whole time…" Sol said quietly.

Something flickered in Tatsumaki's eyes.

"When you recover… I'm throwing you from the sky ten thousand times."

"Alright…" Sol closed his eyes again, smiling.

"I won't resist."

Below them, the wreckage of the spaceship finally slammed into the ground with a thunderous crash, dust rising everywhere. Heroes rushed to protect nearby buildings, doing what they could to minimize the damage.

"Seriously…" Metal Bat stood on his toes, squinting upward.

"How long are they planning to stay up there?"

"Youth really is beautiful," Puri-Puri Prisoner said, clasping his face with delight.

Bang let out a quiet breath, a small smile appearing.

"Seems like things turned out better than expected."

Genos activated his thrusters.

"Sensei, should we go…"

Saitama scratched his head.

"Let them be. We should go check if there are discounted groceries around here. City A might have some good deals."

Amid the ruins, heroes and demons worked side by side, while above them, the setting sun stretched the shadows of two figures standing close together.

Tatsumaki looked down at Sol resting in her arms. A strand of her hair fell across his face, and she instinctively brushed it aside. For a moment, her lips curved slightly.

Then she froze, realizing what she had just done. Her expression hardened instantly, but her fingers lingered a second longer than they should have.

"Idiot…" she muttered softly.

From afar, Metal Bat's loud voice broke the moment.

"Hey! Are you two planning to live up there? The Association sent a helicopter!"

Tatsumaki's expression snapped, her power flaring instantly.

"So annoying!"

A chunk of wreckage shot toward him.

"Woah!" Metal Bat jumped aside.

"You trying to kill me, brat?!"

The noise stirred Sol. His eyes slowly opened as he pushed himself up. His armor had been completely destroyed, leaving only torn black combat gear. His body, covered in scars, was fully exposed.

"Morning already?" he muttered, rubbing his temples.

His body had recovered significantly thanks to his evolved Invincible Defense, but the mental exhaustion still lingered.

Tatsumaki immediately floated a short distance away, crossing her arms.

"If you're awake, get up already. Those old men from the Association are waiting to interrogate you."

Sol stretched his shoulders with a faint smile. In the distance, helicopters marked with the Hero Association insignia approached, their blades scattering dust across the ruins.

"Looks like the real trouble starts now," he said quietly.

Tatsumaki hesitated for a moment.

"If you want… you could disappear for a while."

Sol shook his head.

"Running would just make it worse. I'll deal with it."

Below, Bang and Genos helped carry the injured. Zombieman watched from a distance, cigarette in hand. KING stood stiffly among the rubble. Atomic Samurai and Flashy Flash counted casualties. Darkshine lifted debris with ease.

The demons had already vanished, slipping away during the chaos. Through their mental link, Sol could tell they were moving underground, continuing their plan of assisting civilians from the shadows.

A helicopter landed nearby. Zenil stepped out, flanked by heavily armed guards. His expression was cold and severe.

"Mr. Sol," Zenil said, his tone filled with authority.

"Due to your concealment of identity, the Association has decided to suspend your S-Class status temporarily. You are to cooperate with our investigation."

Tatsumaki's power flared instantly.

"On what grounds? If it wasn't for him, City A would have been wiped out!"

"Miss Tatsumaki!" Sitch cut in sharply.

"This is an official decision. Do not interfere."

"You seem to be misunderstanding something."

Before anyone could react, Sol moved.

One moment he stood still, the next Zenil was lifted off the ground, his neck firmly in Sol's grip.

Everything went silent. Every hero stopped what they were doing.

"W-What are you doing?!" Zenil choked, his face turning red as his legs flailed.

"I am a sponsor of the Association! A high-ranking official!"

Sol's gaze turned cold.

"A sponsor? You think throwing money around lets you do whatever you want?"

"Sol, stop!" Sitch shouted.

"Do you understand the consequences of this?"

Metal Bat tightened his grip on his bat.

"Hey, easy there, rookie. Don't lose your head."

Tatsumaki's hair fluttered violently, but she said nothing. No matter what Sol chose to do, she had already made up her mind to stand with him.

"I understand perfectly," Sol said calmly.

"This man planted spies inside the Association, embezzled funds, and sold hero intelligence to underground organizations."

"That's nonsense!" Zenil shouted desperately.

"You're making false accusations!"
