"Yo!" Saitama suddenly stood up, a hint of excitement flashing in his dull eyes. "You're finally back!"
A dark figure shot in from the distance, stretching across the rooftop under the setting sun. Sol landed lightly on the edge, his black combat outfit still marked with signs of battle.
"Yo, Saitama, Genos." Sol greeted with an easy smile. "Miss me?"
Genos immediately bowed at a right angle. "Welcome back, Sol-senpai. How is your physical condition? Do you require a nutritious meal?"
"No, I'm good." Sol waved him off, lifting the plastic bag in his hand. "Picked up some oden on the way. Want to eat?"
Saitama's eyes lit up instantly. "Oh, from that convenience store?"
He grabbed the bag and opened it without hesitation. "How did you know I wanted this today?"
Sol only smiled and walked over to the edge of the rooftop, taking a seat. The sunlight stretched their shadows across the ground as the city slowly faded into the coming night.
"So…" Saitama spoke with his mouth full, voice slightly muffled. "What kept you busy this time?"
Sol accepted the hot tea Genos handed him and blew on it gently. "It's a long story."
He hadn't expected Tatsumaki to drag him back like that, let alone for things between them to turn out the way they did.
Genos's eyes flickered with data. "Sol-senpai, I am detecting multiple injuries that have not fully healed."
"Nothing serious." Sol took a sip of tea, his wounds recovering almost instantly. "Don't worry about it."
There was no need to hide anything in front of these two. It made things easier.
"More importantly…" Sol set the cup aside and patted Saitama's shoulder. "Want to spar?"
As he spoke, his ability activated.
A three-dimensional projection of Saitama appeared in his view, followed by a selection panel.
"Please choose the ability to evolve: Absolute Strength, Invincible Defense, Super-Speed Movement, Infinite Stamina, Breakthrough Limiter, Combat Intuition."
Sol chose Invincible Defense without hesitation.
The logic was simple. With near-endless regeneration, defense came first. Once that was complete, he could move on to Absolute Strength. If the requirement involved enduring Saitama's serious punch, at least he would not risk being erased completely.
No point rushing when a steady path existed.
"Ability: Invincible Defense"
"Evolution Condition: Withstand Saitama's continuous attacks for ten minutes"
"Host has no limiter. Upon evolution, defense will grow continuously at an extreme rate without limit."
Sol's eyes sharpened slightly.
So it was true. No limiter.
If that was the case, stacking abilities like this might actually let him reach, or even surpass, Saitama someday.
Saitama nodded, finishing the oden in a few quick bites before standing up. "Alright, sounds good. Been a while since we trained."
Genos stepped back, clearing space. "I will observe and analyze."
Sol handed his teacup to Genos, took off his jacket, and draped it over the railing. The fading sunlight outlined his frame as he stepped forward.
They faced each other.
The wind swept across the rooftop, stirring dust into the air. Genos adjusted his focus repeatedly, unwilling to miss anything.
"Begin."
Sol moved first.
Smashing Fist flowed out smoothly, his strikes continuous and precise. Saitama did not dodge, letting the blows land against his chest.
A dull impact echoed.
Saitama did not move at all. Instead, he looked mildly disappointed. "Hey… are you trying to tickle me?"
Sol said nothing.
His technique shifted instantly. Exploding Heart Release Fist erupted at close range, its power bursting outward. Saitama's cape fluttered from the force, but his stance remained unchanged.
"Now that's better." Saitama grinned and threw a simple straight punch.
Sol's eyes narrowed. He crossed his arms to block.
The impact sent him flying backward, crashing into the metal railing. It twisted under the force, groaning loudly.
"Sol-senpai!" Genos called out.
Sol shook his arm, feeling the numbness fade as he gave a small, amused smile. "Still ridiculous."
Saitama scratched his head. "Should I tone it down?"
"No." Sol straightened, his gaze sharpening. "Keep going."
He stepped away from the bent railing and rolled his shoulders.
"Again."
Saitama tilted his head slightly. "You sure? That wasn't light."
"I recover fast." Sol smiled faintly. "Besides… this is fun."
Genos watched closely, tracking every movement. Sol's breathing had stabilized, his injuries visibly repairing themselves.
"Alright." Saitama shifted his stance. "I'll step it up a bit."
He vanished.
Sol reacted on instinct, dodging sideways as a punch cut through the air beside his face. The wind alone stung his skin.
"So fast!" Genos exclaimed.
Sol moved with the momentum, driving an elbow toward Saitama's ribs. Saitama took it head-on.
Another dull impact rang out.
Saitama didn't budge. Instead, he looked more interested. "You've gotten stronger."
Sol continued without pause.
Smashing Fist blended seamlessly with Exploding Heart Release Fist, soft flow and explosive force working together. His strikes landed in rapid succession, targeting precise points across Saitama's body.
Impact after impact echoed across the rooftop.
Saitama was pushed back slightly under the barrage, though he remained completely unharmed. A spark of excitement flickered in his eyes.
Sol still could not damage him.
