Lying on the sofa, Sol waited patiently.
He stared at the ceiling, thinking about what he should do next. It was already past midnight, and Muzan and his demons were waiting outside. But with Tatsumaki sleeping in the same room, there was no way he could meet them without her noticing.
About half an hour later, Sol finally came up with a plan. After listening carefully to the steady breathing coming from the bed, he quietly stood up. Tatsumaki was curled up on the mattress, fast asleep. Her green hair fell softly over her shoulders, making her look far smaller and calmer than usual.
Sol stepped closer and looked down at her sleeping face. In the moonlight, her eyelashes trembled slightly, as if she was not completely at ease. He hesitated for a moment, then decided to take the risk.
"I'm sorry, Tatsumaki," he whispered, gently placing his hand on her forehead.
A faint psychokinesis ripple spread from his palm. It was a technique he had developed himself while experimenting on Muzan and the other demons, a method that forced the target into a deeper sleep. Tatsumaki's brows relaxed slightly, and her breathing became slower and steadier.
After confirming she was fully asleep, Sol quickly changed into a black tracksuit he had bought earlier. He quietly opened the window, letting the cold night air brush against his face. He looked back once more at Tatsumaki curled up on the bed, then jumped out of the window without making a sound.
The moment he left, Tatsumaki slowly opened her eyes.
She floated toward the window and looked in the direction he had gone. A complicated expression flashed across her face.
"Stupid liar," she muttered softly, unconsciously gripping the hem of her pajamas.
How could someone like her, famous for her powerful psychokinesis, be fooled by such a clumsy technique?
"I'll see what you're secretly doing in the middle of the night," she murmured, biting her lower lip slightly before flying out after him.
Sol moved quickly through the silent city while giving orders to Muzan and his demons.
Go to the commercial street in District C of A City.
A few minutes later, he arrived at the busiest commercial street in A City. Even at night, pedestrians were still moving around, and the voices of street vendors filled the air. Under the bright neon lights, several figures were already waiting for him. Every demon was heavily dressed and wearing a mask.
They clearly thought looking strange was still better than being mistaken for monsters.
Sol raised an eyebrow when he saw them wrapped up from head to toe. "You don't need to dress like that. As long as you don't hurt anyone, nobody will care. Take those off."
Muzan and the others exchanged looks. Kokushibo was the first to remove his mask, revealing his six eyes. "Lord Ancestor, will the humans in this world not treat us as demons?"
Sol shook his head. "There are no demons here. Only monsters. Your appearance will still stand out, but as long as you don't cause trouble, nobody will bother you."
The others quickly removed their masks and heavy clothing, clearly relieved.
"Follow me," Sol said, then turned toward a nearby ice cream truck.
He stopped in front of it and spoke to the owner. "One super deluxe ice cream, take away."
The owner looked up and froze for a moment. Muzan's crimson eyes, Kokushibo's six eyes, Akaza's golden pupils, and Hantengu's nervous expression were definitely unusual. But in a city like A City, strange people were everywhere, so he did not think too much about it.
"Alright, just wait a moment," the owner replied while skillfully stacking several flavors of ice cream onto a large cone.
Sol turned to the demons. "For the next few days, you will help people here. When the time is right, I will have you join an organization."
He originally wanted them to join the Hero Association immediately, but recently he had started attracting suspicion. It was better to keep a low profile for now.
After calculating the time, Sol knew it should be about right. Tatsumaki was probably already on her way.
"That's all. You can leave now," he said calmly.
Muzan and the others did not question him. Even if they could communicate through telepathy, if the Lord Ancestor wanted them to come in person, they would come. Since he had called them out, they simply followed his instructions without hesitation.
After they left, Sol sat quietly in front of the ice cream truck and waited.
He already knew his little trick would never work on Tatsumaki. Now all he had to do was wait for her to appear and clear his name.
The owner finally handed him the oversized ice cream. Just as Sol turned around, a flash of green light dropped from the sky.
Tatsumaki floated right in front of him. Her green hair was flying wildly, and her small face was completely red with anger.
"New. Guy." She spoke each word slowly, her green eyes burning.
Sol pretended to be surprised. "Tatsumaki? What are you doing here? Weren't you asleep?"
"That is what I should be asking you!" Tatsumaki snatched the ice cream from his hand, and green energy instantly crushed it into powder. "You sneaked out in the middle of the night just to buy this?"
Sol was not angry. Instead, he calmly reached out and patted her head. "Didn't you say earlier that you wanted ice cream? I came out to buy some so I could put it in the fridge and surprise you tomorrow."
Tatsumaki froze for a moment, completely caught off guard. Her cheeks instantly turned red, but she did not push his hand away. Her hair flared slightly like an annoyed cat.
"Who told you to touch me!" she snapped.
She had not expected him to remember something she had said so casually earlier that day.
"Who wants you to remember something that useless!" she added, her ears already burning red.
Sol smiled slightly. "Then should we just buy some now instead?"
"Hmph." Tatsumaki turned her face away, pretending to look annoyed. "I'm not hungry. I'm just accompanying you."
But her body had already turned toward the ice cream truck, and her small hands were unconsciously tugging at the hem of her pajamas.
Sol pretended not to notice and turned back to the owner. "One more super deluxe ice cream, please."
The owner wiped the sweat from his forehead and carefully glanced at the girl floating in the air. "Alright."
"Aren't you eating?" Tatsumaki asked when she saw him only order one.
"I'm not eating. I don't really like it," Sol replied casually, waving his hand.
After becoming a demon, he could still taste human food, but it no longer interested him. What really tempted him now was something completely different.
And right now, Tatsumaki smelled far too good.
