Chapter 76 - The Choice Between Love and Reality

The wind howled around them.

The rooftop trembled beneath their feet.

The sky above—

Cracked.

Like reality itself was breaking apart.

Mira couldn't move.

Her mind stuck on one sentence.

"Everything will end."

She looked around.

The bench flickered.

The railing distorted.

The air bent unnaturally.

This wasn't just a warning.

It was already happening.

Her breath became uneven.

"This is real…" she whispered.

He stood beside her.

Still holding her hand.

Still not letting go.

"Yes," he said.

His voice calm.

Too calm.

Mira turned to him.

"How are you so calm right now?" she asked.

Her voice trembling.

"Everything is collapsing…"

He looked at her.

Softly.

"Because I already know the answer."

Her heart skipped.

"The answer…?" she repeated.

He nodded.

"Yes."

A pause.

Then—

"We don't go back."

Mira froze.

Her chest tightened.

"What?" she whispered.

The wind roared louder.

The figure in front of them stood still.

Watching.

Waiting.

He tightened his grip on her hand.

"We've already lived that ending," he said.

"Again and again."

Mira's heart ached.

"Yes…" she whispered.

"And it always hurt."

He nodded.

"Exactly."

Another step closer.

Closer than ever before.

"So why would we choose it again?"

Mira's breath caught.

Because he was right.

Every time—

They separated.

Every time—

They forgot.

Every time—

They lost each other.

Her eyes filled with tears.

"But if we don't…" she said.

Her voice shaking.

"Everything ends…"

He looked up at the sky.

The cracks spreading wider now.

Light breaking through like shattered glass.

Then he looked back at her.

"And if we do…" he said softly.

"We lose each other anyway."

Silence.

Heavy.

Unavoidable.

Because this wasn't a simple choice.

It was loss—

Either way.

Mira's hands trembled.

"I don't want either…" she whispered.

Her voice breaking.

"I don't want to lose you…"

He stepped closer.

So close that their foreheads almost touched.

"You won't," he said.

A pause.

"Not if we choose differently."

Mira frowned slightly.

"Differently?"

Her heart skipped.

Because—

That sounded like something else.

Something beyond the two choices.

She looked at him.

"What do you mean?"

The wind slowed for a second.

As if even reality paused to hear his answer.

He took a breath.

Then said—

"What if we don't choose between love and reality?"

Mira's eyes widened.

"What if we change reality itself?"

Silence.

Because that wasn't just bold—

It was impossible.

Or at least—

It should have been.

The figure finally reacted.

Its presence shifted.

Stronger.

"You cannot do that," it said.

Its voice sharper now.

More urgent.

Because for the first time—

They were stepping outside the system.

Mira's heart pounded.

"Why not?" she asked.

Her voice no longer trembling.

"Because everything you know exists within this structure," the figure replied.

"If you break it completely—"

A pause.

"Nothing will remain."

Mira swallowed.

Nothing.

No memories.

No rooftop.

No world.

No them.

She looked at him again.

Fear in her eyes.

"What if we disappear too?" she whispered.

He didn't hesitate.

"Then at least we chose it."

Her breath caught.

Because that answer—

It wasn't safe.

It wasn't logical.

But it was real.

More real than anything else.

Her eyes filled again.

"You're really willing to risk everything…" she said.

He nodded.

"Yes."

A pause.

"For you."

Mira's heart broke—

And healed at the same time.

Because this—

This was the one thing that had never changed.

No matter how many times they lived this.

No matter how many times they forgot.

That feeling—

Stayed.

Her grip on his hand tightened.

Her fear still there.

But something else growing stronger.

Courage.

Hope.

Choice.

She took a deep breath.

Then said—

"Then I choose that too."

The moment the words left her lips—

Everything reacted.

The wind exploded around them.

The cracks in the sky spread instantly.

The rooftop shook violently.

The figure stepped back—

For the first time.

"No—" it said.

But it was too late.

Because they had already decided.

Mira held onto him tightly.

"I'm scared…" she admitted.

Her voice trembling.

He pulled her closer.

"I know."

A pause.

"But don't let go."

She shook her head.

"I won't."

The world around them began to collapse.

The rooftop disappeared piece by piece.

The sky shattered completely.

Light swallowed everything.

And in that moment—

There was nothing left.

No place.

No time.

No past.

No future.

Only them.

Holding onto each other—

As everything else faded away.
