Inside a dimly lit stone cave, Uchiha Madara sat on a rough stone stool, his expression dark.
"I didn't expect that brat Uchiha Tensei to actually revive all those who died in battle. What a foolish move."
His memories hadn't been erased—because the extraction had failed. When the strange force tried to reach into his mind, he resisted it using his Rinnegan. Only someone with the same level of power could oppose it.
A few days earlier, he had already sent White Zetsu to monitor Isamu's condition.
Turning his gaze slightly, Madara spoke, "Zetsu, how is that brat now?"
White Zetsu straightened up immediately. "Reporting to Lord Madara, Isamu burned through all his Chakra and severely damaged his foundation. Normally, he wouldn't survive… but I had ten clones attach to his body. They're barely keeping him alive."
Madara nodded slowly. That kind of power always came with a price. "Where is he now?"
"He's been taken back to Konoha. Senju Hashirama's granddaughter brought him to seek treatment from Uzumaki Mito."
"…Mito, huh."
Madara leaned back slightly.
"That woman should be able to preserve his life. But fully healing him? That's unlikely. Damage caused by the Rinnegan isn't so easily repaired."
After a pause, he added coldly, "If she fails, bring him back here immediately. Don't hesitate."
White Zetsu gave a casual salute. "Got it, Lord Madara."
Madara closed his eyes, choosing not to respond further.
Meanwhile, in Konoha…
Orochimaru, Jiraiya, and Tsunade finally arrived outside Uzumaki Mito's residence.
Without hesitation, Tsunade kicked the door open.
The loud crash drew Mito outside. The moment she saw them, her brows furrowed. "Tsunade? What is the meaning of this?"
"Grandmother!" Tsunade rushed forward, her voice urgent. "Please—save Isamu! He's dying!"
Mito's expression changed instantly. She stepped forward and examined him.
"Quickly—bring him inside!"
They hurried into the house and laid Isamu on the bed. Mito immediately began a detailed examination.
The room fell silent.
Tsunade, Jiraiya, and Orochimaru stood nearby, barely daring to breathe.
Then—
"Hey! Sis! Is that guy finally about to die?"
Nawaki's loud voice broke the tension as he walked in.
Jiraiya and Orochimaru froze.
Bad timing. Really bad timing.
A split second later—
BAM.
Tsunade sent Nawaki flying with a single kick.
"You brat! How dare you talk about your brother-in-law like that?!"
She stormed outside and gave him an even harsher beating. By the time she returned, Nawaki was already unconscious.
Jiraiya peeked outside and winced. "…He's finished."
Orochimaru nodded slightly. "Completely."
Back inside, Mito's expression kept shifting—confusion, curiosity, then deep focus.
Tsunade couldn't take it anymore. "Grandmother… how is he?"
Mito stood up slowly.
"To be honest, it's a miracle he's still alive."
Tsunade immediately spoke up, "That's because I used Katsuyu to stabilize him—"
"No," Mito interrupted.
"That's not the reason."
She shook her head calmly. "Katsuyu can preserve Chakra. But it cannot stop life force from fading."
Tsunade froze. "…What?"
She turned sharply. "Katsuyu—is that true?"
Katsuyu nodded gently. "Yes, Lady Tsunade. I can only maintain his Chakra. His life force… I cannot control."
Tsunade clenched her fists. "Then why didn't you tell me?!"
"I tried," Katsuyu replied softly. "But you were too focused at the time."
Then it continued:
"But… one day into the journey, another force appeared. Something else began healing him."
"And that force… was able to stop his life from fading."
Silence filled the room.
Tsunade frowned deeply. "Another force…? That's impossible. Neither Jiraiya nor Orochimaru—"
"Correct," Mito said quietly.
Then her eyes narrowed slightly as she looked at Isamu.
"If you want your answer…"
"You'll have to ask them yourself."
She paused.
"Because right now… they're inside his body."
