The next morning started with a message waiting in Elena's inbox.
No subject line.
No explanation.
Only a legal notice attached as a PDF.
She opened it while standing beside the coffee machine.
The first page carried the name of a law firm she had never seen before.
The second page carried something she recognized immediately.
Meridian Corridor Holdings.
She stopped reading.
Then started again from the top.
The name did not change.
Neither did the ownership percentage.
Eighteen percent.
The same eighteen percent buried inside the documents from the archive basement.
The same eighteen percent hidden by the trust for years.
She walked directly to her office.
Alexander was already there.
Three monitors active.
Reports open.
Audit requests still moving through the system.
She dropped the printed notice on his desk.
He looked at it.
Read the first page.
Then the second.
Then the third.
"They found us first," Elena said.
Alexander kept reading.
