Chapter 150 - Chapter 150: I Hope You Have a Pleasant Stay on Earth

Fury didn't deny it.

"Yes," he said.

"Last night, a massive energy surge was detected in New Mexico. We sent someone to the scene and found a... very unique pattern."

He looked at Mavuika.

"Is that a trace of the Bifrost Bridge?"

Mavuika nodded.

"Yes."

Fury was silent for a second.

Then he looked at Thor and Loki.

"So... the two princes arrived via the Bifrost Bridge last night?"

Thor grinned.

"Correct! Loki and I came to see our big sister!"

Mavuika said with a smile, "My two younger brothers missed me so much that they snuck away from Asgard to Earth. They accidentally caused a bit of a stir and gave you some trouble."

Fury nodded.

"Understood."

He paused, choosing his words carefully.

"Ms. Marvica, may I ask... is this visit by the two princes an official state visit or a private trip?"

Mavuika looked at him without speaking yet, so Fury thought for a moment and continued.

"If it's an official visit..." he said.

"We need to make certain preparations—welcoming ceremonies, security arrangements, itinerary planning, and so on. After all, Asgard is... a very significant power."

"If it's a private trip, then it's much simpler; we just need to keep a record."

Mavuika chuckled softly.

"Director Fury," she said, "you certainly think of everything."

Fury didn't deny it.

"It's my duty," he said.

Mavuika continued, "In that case, I'll have to trouble Director Fury with one thing."

"They just arrived on Earth and have no identification. They're essentially 'undocumented.' It'll inevitably cause trouble when they move about on Earth later."

"I'll have to trouble S.H.I.E.L.D. to help record their information to avoid any misunderstandings or trouble later on."

"It's good that you're here; otherwise, I was thinking about whether I should go find you or Howard."

Fury understood immediately.

"You want me to help them... get identification?"

"Yes." Mavuika nodded. "S.H.I.E.L.D. has that capability, right?"

Fury smiled.

"Of course," he said. "A minor matter."

"Ms. Marvica," he said, "S.H.I.E.L.D. can help the two princes with their identification. Also, if you need a guide, S.H.I.E.L.D. can assign someone to accompany you. After all, Earth... might be a bit unfamiliar to the two of them."

He paused.

"S.H.I.E.L.D. can cover all expenses."

Thor's eyes lit up even more.

"Really? Then can you arrange a team of dozens of people? Specifically to serve us?"

Mavuika glared at him.

Thor immediately shrank back.

"Just kidding..." he whispered. "Heh, just kidding..."

Loki chuckled softly to the side.

Mavuika turned back to Fury.

"Director Fury," she said, "thank you for the kind offer, but that won't be necessary. The three of us siblings will just wander around on our own."

Fury felt a slight pang of disappointment.

If possible, he really wanted to have someone follow these three.

Not to monitor them, but—

To increase the opportunities for contact.

Perhaps through casual conversation, he could learn more about Asgard.

About the Nine Realms.

About that much broader World that he knew absolutely nothing about.

But since Mavuika had refused,

He couldn't push it.

"Understood." Fury nodded and stood up.

"Then if you have any needs, feel free to contact S.H.I.E.L.D. at any time. We will help you resolve any issues."

Mavuika also stood up.

"Thank you."

She saw Fury and Coulson to the door.

Fury turned and gave Thor and Loki one last look.

"Princes," he said, "I hope you have a pleasant stay on Earth."

Thor waved his hand.

"Thanks, Mortal Director!"

Loki gave a slight nod in response.

Fury smiled slightly and turned to leave.

Coulson followed behind him.

The door closed behind them.

The two of them exited the Villa gates and returned to their car.

Coulson sat in the driver's seat and started the engine.

The car slowly drove away.

There was silence for a few seconds.

Then Coulson spoke up.

"Director," Coulson asked, "what's next?"

Fury thought for a moment.

"Observe closely," he said.

"But do not disturb them. As long as they don't cause trouble, we'll act as if we don't know anything."

Coulson nodded.

"Also..." Fury continued.

"Input their information into the system: Thor, Loki, Princes of Asgard. Clearance level... highest."

Coulson was stunned for a moment.

"Highest?"

"Yes," Fury said.

"That way, if they really do cause any trouble, the Agents on the ground will at least know what they're dealing with."

Coulson nodded.

The car continued forward, heading toward Washington.

...

Sunlight streamed through the gaps in the curtains, casting a golden band of light on the floor.

Thor was wearing the T-shirt from yesterday. It was originally quite loose, but on him, it was stretched almost out of shape, the hem barely managing to cover his navel.

The pants were the same casual ones from yesterday, but the legs were a bit too short, revealing his ankles.

Mavuika looked at his outfit and fell silent.

Loki's voice came from the balcony, carrying a hint of lazy amusement: "Big sister, doesn't he look like what the Midgardians call a 'refugee'?"

Mavuika turned to look.

Loki was sitting on a chair on the balcony, wearing a dark green shirt and black trousers. He was barefoot, holding a cup of tea in his hand.

The sunlight shone on him, making him look as elegant as a painting.

They were both her brothers.

How could the difference be so vast?

Mavuika retracted her gaze and looked at Thor.

"After breakfast, we're going to buy clothes."

Thor grinned. "Buy clothes? Great, great! I want to wear that shiny armor, just like in Asgard!"

Mavuika: "...No, you're wearing Earth clothes."

Thor's face fell.

Fifth Avenue in Manhattan was always crowded.

The windows of brand-name stores displayed the latest fashions. Well-dressed men and women bustled through the streets, while vendors on the sidewalk hawked hot dogs and pretzels. Double-decker tour buses crawled by, tourists on board aiming their cameras at the surrounding buildings.

Mavuika walked in front, with Thor and Loki following behind her.

Thor's eyes were completely overwhelmed.

"Big sister! Why isn't that person in the window moving?"

"That's a mannequin. It's fake."

"Fake? It looks just like a real person!"

They walked a few more steps.

"Big sister! Why did that door open by itself?"

"That's an automatic door. It has a sensor."

"A sensor? Midgardian magic?"

"It's not magic; it's technology."

Thor scratched his head. "What is technology?"

Mavuika thought for a moment. "It's... things created using brains and hands."

Thor nodded thoughtfully.

They walked a few more steps.

"Big sister! What is that moving staircase?"

Mavuika followed his gaze—it was a mall Escalator.

"An Escalator. You can go upstairs just by standing on it."

Thor's eyes widened.

He strode over and stood before the Escalator, watching the steps rise one by one, his face full of wonder.
