"C-Caelus Kross..." Mark's voice came out as a broken whisper.
"Please!"
Without hesitation, he pressed his forehead against the ground.
"Please don't kill me! We're from the same hometown! We both came from the same world! Doesn't that mean anything to you?!"
He still had too many things he wanted to accomplish. Too many ambitions and dreams.
But if he died here, none of them would ever happen.
Caelus stared down at him with cold eyes.
"The same hometown?" Caelus repeated slowly. "That's your argument?"
Mark immediately looked up, desperate hope filling his eyes.
However, Caelus continued before he could say anything else.
"You caused a lot of suffering. You helped the demons slaughter innocent people. You stood by while cities burned."
His gaze remained completely cold.
"And now you want mercy because we're from the same place?"
"I-I was just following orders! I didn't have a choice!"
Caelus's expression didn't change.
"Everyone has a choice."
