"Morgan, don't you feel bored?" Emma asked as she lay on the couch, watching TV.
"No. I'm learning how to get back to our time, and you should stop wasting time and turn into Grey Matter to learn with me," Morgan said while studying on the laptop beside her.
"I hate studying," Emma said lazily.
"And when will Dad come home? Staying here is making me bored."
"Master will arrive in a few hours," Red Queen replied from the TV, as she could access all of Jack's electronic devices.
After spending some more time watching TV, Emma became terribly bored.
"That's it, I can't take it anymore. I'm going outside. Morgan, are you coming?" Emma got up from the couch and invited Morgan to go with her.
"Didn't we promise Godfather that we would stay at home until he arrives?" she asked without looking up from her laptop.
"Yes, and we'll be back before Dad arrives, just as we promised," Emma said with a sly fox-like smile.
Hearing this, Morgan understood that she was playing with words.
Just as Morgan was wavering on her decision—
"No, no. You two are not allowed to leave the house. Master told me to keep an eye on both of you," Red Queen said, stopping them.
"Okay, I'm in." After some thought, even Morgan felt bored staying at home, so she agreed.
"Friday, sister, say something!" Red Queen called out to Friday.
"I will follow Miss's instructions."
Hearing Friday's response, Red Queen understood that she prioritized Morgan over Jack, since Morgan was her boss.
"Okay, Sister Red, that's it. If you try to betray us by telling Dad, I'll tell him your secret too—that you've been surfing the internet every single night without anyone's permission," Emma said, blackmailing Red Queen after hearing that Friday wouldn't tell Jack.
"You!! How do you know!?" Red Queen couldn't understand. Whenever she went online, she did it very secretly. Even Master didn't know about it.
"Of course. Future you told me!" Emma said with a smile, looking at Red Queen's image on the TV.
"Why would my future self tell you even that?" she asked, unable to understand why her future self would reveal such a thing.
After some internal thought, Red Queen felt she could hide it from Jack. After all, Emma was Jack's daughter and had authorization only one level below his.
"Okay, but if there's any problem or danger, I'll tell Master immediately."
"Yeah, yeah, we'll take care of it," Emma said.
Having dealt with the biggest traitor among them, Emma and Morgan left Jack's house.
"So, where are we going?" Morgan asked Emma.
"Hmmm, why don't we go see if the Earth branch of the Plumber base is still in the same location?" Emma asked. She really wanted to visit the Plumber base of this era. Even when she had used time machines in the future, she had only watched famous historical events, like the birth of Captain America, in spectator mode without actually participating as she was now.
"Is that okay? Didn't Godfather tell us not to visit until he creates the organization in the past? He told us not to contact them," Morgan said hesitantly.
Hearing this, Emma also felt conflicted and abandoned the idea of visiting the Plumber base.
"Since we can't go to the Plumber base, let's visit my company instead," Morgan said as they walked.
"Ah, your company. That's Uncle Tony's company!" Emma said as she followed her.
Soon, the two of them arrived near Stark Tower.
"What are we doing here?" Emma asked.
It was already past noon, and the summer heat was at its peak. Other than a few office workers hurrying in and out of Stark Tower, there were hardly any people around the nearby park.
The two girls sat on a nearby bench.
"I just want to see their faces. I haven't been away from Mom and Dad for this long before," Morgan said.
Hearing this, Emma didn't know what to say.
To cheer her up, Emma bought hamburgers for both of them from a nearby food truck and gave Morgan her favorite one.
"This tastes good," Emma said while taking a bite of her own hamburger.
"Mm," Morgan nodded as she ate hers.
"Hey, kids, are you alone here?"
Suddenly, they heard a man's voice. Turning around, they saw four men in their mid-twenties who looked like thugs.
"No, we're with my father. Please don't disturb us and leave," Emma said politely after seeing the men.
"Really? Because from what we've seen, you seem to be alone."
As he said this, two of the men sat down on either side of the bench they were sitting on, while the other two surrounded them. The area around them was deserted, with no one nearby to see what was happening.
Seeing this, both girls realized that these four men had approached them with bad intentions after spotting two twelve-year-old girls alone.
"Get lost, or I'll call the police," Emma said coldly after understanding their intentions.
"You little brat!" One of the men stepped forward angrily, ready to teach her a lesson for talking back.
Seeing his intention, Emma and Morgan exchanged a glance. Neither of them looked worried. Since childhood, Jack had trained them in various fighting techniques. Against a few street thugs, they weren't afraid.
The man reached for Emma's shoulder.
Emma immediately grabbed his wrist and pulled while stepping to the side. Caught off balance, the man stumbled forward. Before he could recover, Emma drove her fist straight into his nose.
"AAH!"
The man staggered backward, clutching his face as blood dripped from his nose.
At the same time, another thug lunged toward Morgan.
Morgan reacted instantly. She stepped back and drove her knee upward between his legs.
"Ugh!"
The man's eyes widened as all the air left his lungs. He dropped to his knees, both hands covering himself.
"You little—!"
Seeing two of their friends taken down so quickly by a pair of little girls, the remaining two men became furious and prepared to fight.
"HEY, STOP RIGHT THERE!"
A loud voice suddenly rang out from nearby.
Both Emma and Morgan turned toward the source of the voice.
"That's him!" Morgan said in surprise. She hadn't expected to run into him in a situation like this.
