"Jingliu-liu?"
Cecilia immediately noticed that something was off about the way Jingliu was looking at her.
At that moment, Jingliu's eyes were fixed on her, staring so intensely that it felt like a starving ghost had just spotted a feast.
Cecilia blinked, then instantly realized what was happening.
No way… was that blood-pack passive already kicking in? She'd only fed Jingliu once, hadn't she?
She quietly took half a step back and said in a rather delicate tone, "Um… Jingliu, your eyes look a little dangerous right now."
Jingliu snapped back to herself at once.
She turned her face aside. "…No, they don't."
"They definitely do."
"They don't."
"They do."
"...Believe whatever you want."
Before their exchange could go any further, March 7th came trotting over.
"Wow! Big sis, your moves were amazing! Are you a Cloud Knight from the Luofu?" She circled Jingliu twice, brimming with excitement.
Jingliu merely looked at the overly lively girl with a blank expression and said nothing.
March 7th didn't mind at all and turned toward Cecilia instead.
"And you, big sis? You didn't look worried at all just now, so you must be really strong too, right?"
Cecilia smiled faintly. "I'm just here to see patients."
"A doctor?" March 7th tilted her head.
"Mhm. Master Diviner Fu Xuan invited me here."
"Ohhh!" March 7th nodded as though she understood everything, then suddenly remembered something and spun around to shout, "Mr. Yang! Star! Come over here!"
Welt and Star were already walking toward them.
Welt's steps were steady, but his gaze remained fixed on Cecilia the entire time.
And Star's eyes… were also on Cecilia.
"Hello." Welt adjusted his glasses and spoke first.
"Thank you both for helping us. I'm Welt Yang. These two are March 7th and Star. We're Nameless from the Astral Express."
"The Astral Express?" Jingliu arched a brow slightly.
She had heard the name before—followers of the Path of Trailblaze, Nameless who traveled the stars. It was also an identity once admired by an old friend of hers.
Cecilia, on the other hand, appeared perfectly friendly. "My name is Cecilia. This is Jingliu."
March 7th and Star exchanged a glance.
Those were two names they had never heard before.
But Welt's expression became somewhat meaningful.
Jingliu.
Former Sword Champion of the Luofu. General Jing Yuan's teacher. A legendary swordswoman of old.
Because of Dan Heng, Welt had deliberately looked into the Luofu's history before, so he remembered that name.
Still, since the other party clearly had no desire to reveal her identity, there was no reason for him to point it out.
What concerned him more was Cecilia.
"Cecilia…" Welt murmured for a moment. "I feel like I've heard that name somewhere before."
Cecilia smiled. "Probably just someone with the same name. It's a pretty common one."
"Is that so?" Welt nodded, but inwardly he remained unconvinced.
Cecilia Schariac.
Schicksal's strongest warrior of a previous era.
The woman who had sacrificed herself in the Second Eruption and saved the world.
Though this was no longer the first time he had encountered someone in this world who looked and sounded like a person he once knew, Welt still couldn't help feeling momentarily dazed.
Still… if she really was a counterpart to that Cecilia, then she should be a good person, shouldn't she?
Out of lingering remembrance for an old comrade, Welt had already begun to extend a measure of trust.
Of course, if Cecilia herself knew what he was thinking, she would probably laugh at him.
Sure, because of Himeko, Welt had built up some resistance to the shock of seeing another familiar face.
But what if she pulled out Black Abyss White Flower in front of him? How exactly was he supposed to deal with that?
Besides, because of the information gap, Welt still knew nothing about Kiana or Theresa.
So Cecilia was actually a little curious—when he eventually learned all of that, what kind of expression would he make?
At that moment, March 7th cut in again. "Anyway, were you two trapped here by those monsters too? What exactly happened here? We just got off the train and immediately got swarmed…"
Cecilia shook her head. "We heard the commotion and came to take a look. As for those creatures…"
"They're probably the work of the Disciples of Sanctus Medicus."
"The Disciples of Sanctus Medicus?" March 7th looked completely lost.
Cecilia gave a brief explanation. "An organization on the Xianzhou. They worship Yaoshi and pursue immortality."
"Their methods are rather extreme, though, and they're constantly stirring up trouble."
"Ohhh…" March 7th nodded, half-understanding and half-not.
Just then, another voice suddenly rang out from above.
"Hey, hey! Honored saviors, have you all forgotten about little me?"
Everyone looked toward the source of the voice.
A Foxian girl was standing atop a tall cargo container, frantically waving both hands.
She was stunningly pretty—a vivid beauty with long, silky brown hair falling to her waist, soft fox ears twitching atop her head, and a fluffy tail swaying gently behind her.
There was an unmistakable seductive charm about her.
Seeing her, Cecilia gave the Foxian girl a careful look.
Tingyun. Of course she knew this fox.
The Sky-Faring Commission's envoy, outwardly a graceful and smooth-talking merchant, but in truth…
At this point, her identity had already been replaced by Phantylia.
Cecilia silently lit a candle for her in her heart.
Still, this wasn't the right moment to expose anything. After all, she was rather interested in what this Lord Ravager was planning.
And if she remembered correctly, what Phantylia wanted should be the Ambrosial Arbor of the Luofu.
That thing…
Cecilia thoughtfully glanced toward the deeper reaches of the Luofu.
If she, a Lord Ravager of Abundance, stepped in, then perhaps she might gain even more from it than Phantylia could.
Forget it. Better wait and see.
"Oh my, my honored saviors have finally noticed me!" Phantylia—still wearing Tingyun's face—continued calling from atop the container.
"Um… would one of you honored saviors please catch me? I really can't get down from here!"
Only then did everyone realize just how high up the container actually was.
Who knew how much effort this poor Foxian girl had gone through to climb up there and avoid those monsters?
Suddenly, "Tingyun" looked directly at Cecilia and spoke again.
"This honored savior, I can tell at a glance you're extraordinary. If I jump down from here, would you be willing to catch me?"
Cecilia looked up at her, the corners of her lips curving slightly.
Interesting. This Lord Ravager was specifically calling on her to catch her?
Given the other party's current state, she shouldn't be able to see through Cecilia's disguise.
Could it be that she had sensed Cecilia's peculiarity in some other way?
No… a second possibility suddenly occurred to Cecilia.
Maybe this Lord Ravager simply thought that, among everyone present, Cecilia looked the easiest to bully.
"All right."
Cecilia agreed without hesitation.
She stepped forward a couple paces and opened her arms, assuming the posture of someone ready to catch a falling person.
"Go ahead and jump."
"Huh?" March 7th and Star both froze.
"Wait, wait, wait! If she jumps from that high up, won't something happen?!"
Even "Tingyun" herself put on a pitiful, fragile expression. "That's right, honored savior. I'm just an ordinary Foxian girl—my body is terribly delicate."
"If I jump from here, I'm afraid I'll lose half my life!"
Watching Phantylia put on such a helpless, pitiful act, Cecilia's eyes filled with understanding.
Well, well.
So this one was a seasoned actress too.
