Jade left without lingering, quickly boarding a starskiff departing the station.
And so, this meeting ended with Kiana and the IPC exchanging information.
Kiana pushed open the reception room door, with the ever-silent Phantylia following behind her.
The corridor was empty. Kiana walked ahead at an unhurried pace, and only after turning a corner did she suddenly stop.
"If you want to ask something, just ask."
Phantylia paused for a moment, then lowered her head. "My apologies, Miss. You saw through me."
"You wanted to speak several times back there," Kiana said, turning around with a half-smile. "Must've been hard holding it in, huh?"
Phantylia was silent for a moment before finally looking up.
"Miss... what you told Jade just now, about that Emanator of Trailblaze... was it true?"
Kiana tilted her head. "What do you think?"
Phantylia considered it seriously, then slowly shook her head.
"I don't know. But if you said it, then it should be true."
That answer made Kiana laugh out loud.
Looks like Phantylia herself didn't really believe it that much.
After all, Phantylia's origins were rather special. If one absolutely had to point to an Emanator who might truly count as a child of an Aeon, then among the known Emanators, she would probably be the closest fit.
Judging by how she was reacting now, she was probably just unwilling to embarrass Kiana, so she said she believed her on the surface.
And on that point, Kiana had guessed only half right.
Phantylia indeed did not really believe the whole "child of an Aeon" story. In her eyes, it was all part of Kiana's larger scheme.
Though she had no idea what her young mistress was truly planning, it had to be some kind of "gift" specially prepared for the IPC and for Trailblaze.
That was right—in Phantylia's eyes, Kiana, as the true inheritor of Destruction, had to be acting for Destruction's grand cause.
As for why Kiana's current actions didn't seem very related to Destruction?
Phantylia believed this simply meant her young mistress was lying low and biding her time.
Since Kiana herself had not chosen to explain, loyal Phantylia naturally would not pry any further.
"Your loyalty stat is a little too high, isn't it?" Kiana said with a laugh, waving her hand. "Come on, don't look so serious. I'm not going to eat you."
Phantylia's expression remained solemn. "I simply do not understand. Why would you reveal such information to the IPC? As far as I know, they are hardly benevolent."
Saying that, Phantylia seemed to have forgotten that she herself was hardly benevolent either.
After all, compared to the IPC, the reputation of Destruction in the galaxy was far worse—far, far worse.
"I know," Kiana said with a shrug. "And that's exactly why I should tell them."
She turned and resumed walking, with Phantylia following silently behind.
"Phantylia, what do you think is the most important thing in the galaxy?"
The question came so suddenly that Phantylia took a moment to answer. "Power. Only power is fundamental."
"Mm, that's not wrong," Kiana said, her voice echoing through the corridor.
After all, everything she had just said to Jade had been for the sake of reaching toward the power of Trailblaze.
Then Kiana smoothly shifted the topic.
"But actually, the information I just gave her wasn't fake."
"That Durandal really is my friend. And I truly do want to find her."
[Ding! Your lie has made Phantylia believe it to be true. The lie has become reality. Trailblaze Authority has increased, and you have gained 20,000 Chronicle Points.]
[Remaining Chronicle Points: 172,909]
As the system notification rang out, Kiana could not help feeling emotional.
Phantylia's loyalty to her had really reached one hundred percent.
Earlier, she had clearly not believed this information at all. Yet the moment Kiana said it seriously, she immediately changed her stance without hesitation.
"Miss, do you truly intend to let the IPC find that Preservation Emanator?" Phantylia asked again just then.
After all, from her point of view, that Preservation Emanator had once forced her mistress into slumber. That alone made the woman utterly unforgivable.
And on top of that, she came from the Asdana star system—the original homeland of Penacony.
Phantylia herself had quite a substantial connection to that place.
As for the IPC?
Those fanatics of Preservation were clearly cut from the same cloth as that so-called Saintess.
This time, however, Kiana did not answer right away. According to her plans, the Preservation identity still needed careful handling.
The two of them chatted as they walked, and before long they arrived outside Kiana's room.
But before Kiana could even push the door open, she sensed an unusual presence inside.
Looks like the station's security measures were still pitifully weak. Her room had been infiltrated again.
"There's someone inside."
Even as Kiana was still wondering who it might be, Phantylia had already stepped in front of her, a mass of Destruction energy instantly gathering in her palm.
"Wait a second." Kiana lightly pressed a hand to Phantylia's shoulder. "I think the person inside probably doesn't mean any harm."
Kiana suddenly remembered a previous deal she had made. Then she pushed open the door.
And she saw the massive silver figure standing before her window.
It was a suit of armor—Firefly's SAM.
Right. She had made a deal with Kafka before. She was supposed to help Firefly deal with Entropy Loss Syndrome.
Ahem. She had had a lot on her plate lately, and somehow she had almost forgotten about it.
"Hello. You're the Stellaron Hunter SAM, right?" Kiana asked first.
Phantylia, meanwhile, still had not relaxed in the slightest. She continued staring at the armored figure before them.
She could tell that the mechanical construct possessed no small amount of power.
But it didn't matter. If this intruder dared to cause trouble in her mistress's room, she swore she would make it regret ever coming into this world.
Then the head of the SAM armor slowly lifted, and a low voice sounded from within.
"Miss Kiana, I am SAM of the Stellaron Hunters. As agreed, I have brought the Stellaron and come here to honor our arrangement."
Kiana blinked, and for a moment, she actually felt a little too embarrassed to speak.
Back when she made that deal with Kafka, it had mostly been to bait Kafka over—and, incidentally, to level up her Abundance persona a bit.
But now the girl had come all the way here by herself.
Kiana felt a pang of guilt.
Because when she had bargained with Kafka back then, she had confidently declared that her mother would be able to solve Firefly's Entropy Loss Syndrome.
Damn it all... but her Abundance persona still wasn't maxed out yet!
