Four people were sitting at the dining table and eating dinner.
Adrian finished eating the last bite of meat on his plate then put his fork to the side of the plate and let a polite smile appear on his face.
"Actually...My friends are holding a gathering tomorrow night. It's just a casual party." He smiled politely and his tone was smooth.
He turned toward Lucas, eyes steady and open. "If you'd like, you can come with me."
He looked at Lucas, his eyes were steady and a sweet smile on his face.
"If you are comfortable and free tomorrow, you can join us."
After hearing Lucas blinked and surprise flashing across his face.
"You are inviting me?" He asked while pointing his finger on himself.
Adrian nodded with confirmation.
"Of course."
"You've only recently joined this family, It would be good if more people got to know you," Adrian answered, as if the idea were perfectly natural.
Lucas fell quiet for a moment then gave a small sigh before his guarded expression softened and a tentative smile on his face. Then he says,"Sure."
But then he added, "But… I'd also like to invite Ryan and Jack. They're my first friends here." Said in a calm voice and sweet smile.
Adrian's smile did not falter; it folded easily back into place. "That sounds great. "The more friends mean more connections."
At the head of the table Zane Reed was setting and watching both of them talking.
He inclined his head, satisfaction plain in the set of his jaw.
"I feel that Lucas is going to have a problem adjusting here but seeing both of you have a communication like brothers, I feel relieved."
His eyes landed on Adrian with quiet gratitude. "Thank you for thinking about your brother."
Adrian's response was respectful, almost reverent. "It's nothing, Father."
Then he looked at Lucas with a sweet smile and cold eyes, he continued, "he came from the countryside and I just want Lucas to settle into university and the new life he is going to live."
Across from them, Lucas felt something warm and fragile stir behind his ribs—an unfamiliar softness at being accepted.
Then his survival instinct tells him that Adrian is planning something bad.
After eating dinner everyone returned to their rooms for sleep.
Adrian closed the door behind him.
The gentle smile on his face slowly disappeared after he entered his room. It's like an actor who got off stage.
He walked toward the window overlooking the mansion gardens where colorful flowers and moonlight fell into the water fountain.
His phone suddenly vibrates, he takes out an open chat app to see who sends the message.

Adrian read the message, waited for a few seconds and a smile appeared on his lips.
Then he typed a short reply.

Adrian: Okay, do as the plan and delete all chats between us.

He closed the chat and turned off the phone then placed it back into his pocket.
Looking out into the dark night, he whispered quietly to himself.
"Ryan Carter...he really impressed me by that move, I wonder what kind of capable you truly are."
A faint smile returned to his face.
Tomorrow night's gathering...

Lucas was lying on the bed and he typed a text message on group chat(only three people are in this chat box Ryan, Jack and Lucas.)

Ryan look at front how people are watching them with curiosity and some girls eyes become heart shape.
