Chapter 108 - Future Strategy

Shinobu Kocho spoke softly, her voice gentle. "Xia Feng-kun… my sister once wanted to achieve something like this too—turning Demons back into humans."

Xia Feng slipped an arm around her shoulders. "Then I'll finish what your sister couldn't. That way… you won't have to carry such a heavy burden."

Shinobu leaned her head lightly against his shoulder.

"That's nice… With you standing in front of me, I feel at ease."

Xia Feng smiled. "Anything you want to do, you can tell me. I'll help you accomplish it. After all… you're my woman."

Shinobu's smile bloomed brightly. "But not yet. We're close—but 'almost' still isn't the same as 'already.'"

Xia Feng chuckled helplessly.

He knew—

Her heart already belonged to him.

She was just too shy to say it outright.

A few days later—

Reports flooded in from across the country.

Large-scale Demon invasions of human cities.

The entire nation was shaken.

The Demon Slayer Corps was caught off guard.

Their numbers simply weren't enough to cover the entire country.

As a result—

The number of civilian casualties skyrocketed.

And worse—

These Demons weren't even killing to feed.

They were killing purely for slaughter.

That much was clear from the reports.

All the Hashira had gathered at headquarters.

Xia Feng sat beside Kagaya Ubuyashiki, calmly observing everyone present.

He had earned that position.

After all—

He was the only one who had killed an Upper Moon.

He was also a doctor at the Butterfly Estate.

And—

He had personally encountered Muzan Kibutsuji.

No one found his presence there inappropriate.

"The reports… you've all seen them," Kagaya said calmly. "I'd like to hear your opinions. Should we expand recruitment for the Demon Slayer Corps—or pursue another approach?"

His gaze swept across the Hashira—

But lingered slightly on Xia Feng.

In truth—

Much of the Corps' current strategy revolved around him.

He was the only one consistently capable of facing Upper Moons.

Even when others encountered them—

It was usually because Xia Feng was present.

And now—

Muzan's primary target was also Xia Feng.

"Expanding recruitment won't work," said Tengen Uzui, frowning. "If we bring in people who can't even pass the Final Selection, we're just sending them to their deaths."

"Then we kill them all," said Kyojuro Rengoku with a calm smile.

Meanwhile—

Mitsuri Kanroji was completely distracted.

"Xia Feng-kun looks so cool sitting there…"

Her eyes sparkled as she stared at him, utterly ignoring the discussion.

Xia Feng felt the intense gaze and awkwardly rubbed his nose.

Her enthusiasm was… a bit much.

But with everyone focused on serious matters—

He couldn't exactly leave.

After all the Hashira had voiced their opinions—

Kagaya turned to Xia Feng.

"Xia Feng-kun, do you have any suggestions?"

Xia Feng thought for a moment, then smiled faintly.

"Not really. If we send all the Hashira out to deal with these Demons, we'd just be playing into Muzan's hands. That's exactly what he wants—to distract us."

Kagaya nodded.

He understood.

But—

They couldn't just let the Demons rampage unchecked.

For a moment—

No one had a perfect solution.

Xia Feng scratched his head, then suddenly grinned.

"How about this—you handle the Demon outbreaks. I'll focus entirely on finding Muzan."

He leaned back slightly.

"After all… once Muzan dies, every Demon should disappear."

Kagaya nodded again. "That's true. As long as Muzan lives, he can continue creating more Demons."

He exhaled softly.

"I'll contact certain officials. If we inform them of the Demons' weaknesses, they should be able to hold out for some time."

It wasn't ideal—

But it was the best option available.

For the first time—

The Demon Slayer Corps would effectively become recognized by authorities.

Only then could they operate on a broader scale.

Kagaya also mentioned Tamayo's arrival—

And instructed the Hashira to collect Demon blood whenever possible, especially from stronger Demons.

After the meeting—

Xia Feng headed to Tamayo's laboratory.

There was something he had been wondering.

The limits of Muzan's power.

Could Muzan turn an unlimited number of humans into Demons?

If so—

He could transform the entire nation.

"There must be a limit…"

Xia Feng was certain of it.

And Tamayo—

Would know.

Inside the lab—

Tamayo was focused on analyzing Demon blood.

When Xia Feng arrived, she smiled at him—but didn't stop her work.

He took a seat nearby.

"Before coming back, I saw another city under Demon attack."

Tamayo lowered her gaze slightly but said nothing.

Xia Feng continued, "I want to know—does Muzan have limits? Can he turn as many people into Demons as he wants?"

Tamayo shook her head. "No. If the blood is too diluted, the transformation fails."

She spoke calmly.

"At best, the person may develop partial Demon traits… but their mind remains human. In most cases, they simply fall ill."

Xia Feng narrowed his eyes. "So you've tested this before?"

Tamayo replied, "I've seen Muzan conduct such experiments."

Xia Feng grew even more curious.

"I've heard that if a Demon speaks Muzan's name, they die instantly. But you and Yushiro are fine."

Tamayo smiled faintly. "That's because we've broken free from Muzan's curse. We're no longer bound like other Demons."

Xia Feng nodded slowly.

But what he really wanted to know—

Was something more precise.

"The threshold," he said. "At what level of blood concentration does the transformation fail?"

His gaze sharpened.

Because this—

Was critical information.

Knowing the enemy's limits—

Meant controlling the battlefield.
