Harry went home after his meeting with the professor. He arrived around 4 PM, took a short nap, and woke up at 7 PM. After talking with his family about the classes starting the next day, he went out for a walk. He returned, had dinner, and went to sleep.
On Monday morning, he woke up at 8 AM, got ready, and reached school by 9:30 AM. Entering the main hall, he asked a teacher about the Basic Fighting Class. The teacher guided him to a smaller hall. As Harry entered, he noticed various types of weapons displayed around the room. A few students were already present. The class was set to begin at 10 AM, so he had some time. He looked around curiously, examining the weapons, until he spotted a familiar face—Ethan Vale.
Ethan was inspecting a set of daggers. Hearing footsteps, he turned and saw Harry approaching. He smiled and walked toward him.
"Good morning, Harry. Good to see you here."
Harry nodded. "Good morning. Same here. I thought you wouldn't attend this class since you've already chosen daggers as your weapon."
Ethan chuckled. "That's true, but basics are the most important thing. They build the foundation. The better we understand them, the more we can improve."
Harry nodded in agreement. "Very true. By the way, how many days do we have to attend this class?"
"I asked my brother about that," Ethan replied. "It usually lasts around three days. But after the first day, you can choose your weapon, and they'll connect you with a specialized instructor. If you're unsure, you get two more days to decide—and you can discuss it with the teachers here."
Hearing this, Harry felt satisfied with the system. It gave students enough freedom to think carefully.
Ethan continued, "So, are you going for gauntlets? You were insane with those."
Harry laughed lightly. "I'm thinking about it, but most gauntlet users are Aetherbound tanks. I don't have that kind of ability. I'm not sure how I'll learn or compete."
Ethan smiled. "Don't worry. Technology is advanced nowadays. If you're willing, you'll find a way. Just commit to it."
"I hope so too," Harry replied.
They both sat down and took out their notebooks as the clock struck 10 AM. A tall, muscular man with a beard entered the hall. He stood at the center, observing the students. Then he placed several wooden weapons on a table in a neat line.
"Good morning, students. My name is Professor Darrel Finn. I will be taking your Basic Weapon Class."
He picked up a sword and continued, "This is a standard one-handed sword. It's sharp, fast, and versatile. It can attack, defend, and even deflect ranged strikes. It's the perfect weapon for an all-rounder—but it has one flaw. It's a master of none. While it can do everything, it doesn't excel in any one area."
Harry and the other students quickly noted this down.
Next, the professor picked up a dagger. "Daggers are often used for stealth, assassination, and close combat. They're easy to conceal but difficult to master. They require agility and precision."
He then picked up a bow. "Bows have been used for hunting for centuries. They offer exceptional range. Easy to learn, but difficult to master. Simple—and effective."
Finally, he picked up a staff. "The staff is commonly used by mage-type Aetherbound. It helps channel and control magic. While it lacks strong defensive capabilities and relies heavily on teamwork, it offers the highest burst damage potential."
Lastly, he lifted a large hammer. A slight smile appeared on his face.
"Now this... is a hammer. Originally used for forging weapons, its true potential was later realized in combat. It requires raw strength and endurance. Used by both Aetherbound and non-Aetherbound warriors, it is a symbol of power and pride. Many call it the warrior's weapon."
Harry could feel the professor's passion. He was almost certain that Professor Finn specialized in hammer combat.
After giving the students time to write and review their notes, the professor spoke again: "I've explained the basics. If any of you have questions, I'll be taking them after a short break. Feel free to ask anything—I'll do my best to answer."
