Wu Tianmo sat back on his hands deep in thought,
"How am I a dragon..."
He looked at his arms and legs defiantly,
"I'm clearly a human.... Could this be the rumored heart devil I heard about...."
He shook his head, he could clearly see that within his mind space there was a dragon resting on the crimson moon.
He sighed,
"I can't stay here, I will meditate on these things once I return..."
Turning towards the pavilions large blackwood doors he smirked,
"First things first, I will claim whatever is left at this Thousand Serpents pavilion."
He stepped inside and found the place untouched, despite the passage of countless years, not a trace of dust remained.
There was a churning in the spiritual essence and his own clothes were wiped clean as soon as he entered.
He looked down at his arms and legs in disbelief. Moments before his red robes were covered in dry blood.
Now they were spotless, as if the gods themselves wouldn't let anyone taint this place.
He walked towards the center where a small leather pouch, and a scroll was laid out before him.
He turned towards the way he just came, the door to the building was gone.
Where is the door..
He looked all around and there was no exit.
He assured himself,
This must be a part of the test.
He walked closer to the table, grabbed the leather pouch storing it within his robes.
Then he picked up the bamboo scroll that was laid open, it detailed a technique. Yet it wasn't just any technique, it was a beast taming technique!
Where after achieving a minor mastery you could bond with a newly born beast, becoming your companion for life.
In a way, this is a technique with great potential.
Many large clans within the capital cities possessed a guardian beast, yet most of these beasts were only at the third tier.
Most available beast taming techniques don't allow the taming of stronger beasts. To tame them, they brand the beasts at birth with special materials.
A truly sinister method of enslavement.
Those techniques are a way to enslave the beasts, the problem becomes that a beast will eventually grow stronger than the brand and out of the cultivators control.
This technique is different, it creates a blood bond with the tamed beast, allowing for complete servitude without the restrictions of a brand.
However this method does have its own weaknesses, the beasts tamed this way will still have their own free will.
They can choose to disobey your orders, at the cost of a setback in cultivation.
Brands are enforced by pain, offering no room for negotiation. The beast, regardless of it's own desires, will obey.
There were stories of rich young masters that would force beasts to even eat their own young to prove the brands effectiveness.
Wu Tianmo shook his head in disgust, people are just more elegant animals at the end of the day.
He took the scroll and realized, this was not something he could learn in a day. There was a Slaughter Festival coming up and only so much time to waste.
The Zhang Clan had lost many of it's members at the base of the mountain, the patriarch surely would investigate.
Time was not on his side.
He looked for the door once again and sighed,
Troublesome... I can't get out.
He looked at the scroll once again,
"Looks like I have no choice."
He sat in the lotus position and began meditating on the information within the scroll.
Learning the chant and proper hand seals required to tame a beast.

7 Days Later
---
He opened his eyes and smiled,
"Finally!"
Over just a week, he achieved minor mastery in the technique for taming beasts and cast the seals in sequence while speaking the correct chant.
Suddenly tens of serpent eggs flew over to him with the desire to be tamed. Freed of their current state.
These beasts had been sitting in this pavilion for thousands of years in a coma like state. Upon hearing the words they were overcome with joy and rushed to his side.
Wu Tianmo looked at the different color eggs before him, he had no knowledge of the different types of serpents and could only go by look.
"According to the technique...I can only tame one beast at minor mastery."
The serpent eggs shook wildly and they began to crash into one another while glowing different colors of spiritual essence.
Colliding mid-air the eggs started a violent struggle for dominance.
Finally one of the eggs started to absorb the others!
From the blue egg with white markings, blue spiritual essence started to be devoured by the larger green egg with golden markings.
The other eggs saw this and attempted to flee.
Their struggle was futile, they were locked in place by an unknown force...
This is divine sense!
The eggs were all completely devoured until only the green one with golden markings remained.
It let out a puff of unrefined spiritual essence like a burp and fell to the ground.
Wu Tianmo couldn't believe what he just saw,
"Hey! You shouldn't have done that... It said at minor mastery I could only tame one, but at higher masteries I could tame more!"
He crossed his arms and looked away,
"You have robbed me!"
He looked away and sighed.
The egg was motionless and didn't pay him any mind.
He finally looked back at the doorless entry and back at the egg,
"I guess I have no choice, I'll call you little green for now."
He made fifteen seals with his hands, spoke the proper chant and cut his hand on his sword. Above the egg a stream of blood poured and a final seal was completed.
The moment his blood touched the shell, it trembled.
The egg, which was originally unimpressed started to shake violently.
It's green silky shell exterior started to bubble and small grooves were now forming.
Along it's once smooth exterior, dragon scales were slowly manifesting.
The essence within the room started to violently be absorbed by the egg, nearly doubling it's size.
It was then that a faint pressure, a bloodline resonance was forming between them.
Wu Tianmo resigned himself and sighed,
"I really am a dragon.."
