Solomon. If it were possible for someone to share the same name in other worlds, then in the Type-Moon World, a name with such symbolic significance, even if it were not the person himself, would absolutely belong to a descendant or successor of that individual.
And this person... the ring hidden by that glove was obviously suspicious at a glance, so this must be the legendary King Solomon.
However, Caelus did not expose him directly just yet. He planned to wait and see how things developed.
"Who are you!"
Seeing that Caelus was not even wearing the Chaldea staff uniform, Romani asked in some astonishment.
"I'm the 49th newly arrived Master candidate. I just met with the Director, and she told me to find Dr. Romani to arrange my accommodation."
"Does Director Olga Marie know I've been slacking off here this whole time?"
Romani scratched his head awkwardly. After all, how could a newcomer find him so quickly? Someone must have told him where he was, which naturally led him to believe that Olga Marie knew he was slacking off and had sent a newcomer to add to his workload so he would stop.
"Sorry to keep you waiting."
Romani got off the bed, put on his shoes, tidied up the cake and computer on the bed, and then smiled at Caelus as he said, "Since the Director told you to go to the Control Room for a meeting in an hour, let's keep this brief. I've looked at your file, it seems you haven't had any contact with the magecraft world before and only joined Chaldea after your Master aptitude was discovered as an ordinary person. Do you need me to explain the basics to you?"
"No need. Someone gave me materials before I came, and I've reviewed them. I have a rough understanding of the situation at Chaldea."
"That's great. Although I don't know which colleague did it, it saves a lot of effort. Let me take you to your quarters first, and I'll help you pick up a set of Chaldea uniforms. Wearing your own casual clothes like that, it's no wonder the Director didn't think much of you and sent you to find me."
"Does everyone here have to wear a uniform?"
"Chaldea's work attire isn't made just for the sake of uniformity. Especially your Master candidate outfit, every single one is a Mystic Code. These garments themselves can provide enhancements and protection for your body, which is essential for the subsequent Rayshift experiments."
"By the way, my name is Romani Archaman, you can call me Roman. I'm the head of the Medical Department. If you ever feel unwell in the future, you can come to me. However, I can't really help with much else, as I don't have much authority or influence here at Chaldea."
Along the way, Dr. Roman talked at length about Chaldea. Caelus just listened silently. He then picked up the uniform from the logistics department that should have been issued when he first entered Chaldea. For some reason, there was a program error that caused him to have to come and pick it up himself now.
"That's strange. When you first entered Chaldea and participated in that simulated combat session, the uniform should have been issued. Why wasn't it? Did something go wrong with the program?"
The logistics staff looked puzzled and finally decided to report the matter, letting the programmers responsible for this sort of thing deal with the headache.
Roman helped check the historical data and found that it did indeed seem like there was an issue with the program when Caelus entered Chaldea, causing it to crash and resulting in this mistake.
Caelus knew the reason, because he had not entered Chaldea through standard means at all. The historical data they were seeing, and the errors they found, had actually just been added to rationalize his current identity.
Caelus returned to his room to change into the new uniform. He checked himself in the mirror, it was okay, but he still preferred the style of his coat.
Walking out of the room, still following the indicator arrows, Caelus soon arrived at the Central Control Room. Quite a few Master candidates were already seated. The ones in the front row stood out in particular, while the vast majority of people were wearing the standard Chaldea uniform, the clothes worn by those sitting at the very front were clearly different, appearing to be their own personal attire.
Caelus's arrival did not attract anyone's attention. Everyone was sitting quietly in their seats without whispering to each other. After all, the Director cared quite a bit about order.
Just as the meeting was about to begin, a red-haired girl burst in rather clumsily. Judging by her attire, she was also a Master candidate.
On the podium, Olga Marie checked the time and found that it was indeed still a little before the start time. Since the other person was not late, she did not say much. Seeing that everyone had arrived, she started the meeting directly.
However, this so-called mobilization meeting merely gave a rough overview of Chaldea's goals and some words of encouragement, there was no substantive content. Although Caelus appeared to be listening attentively on the surface, his mind was already blank, and he had entered a daze.
Not long after, Caelus suddenly noticed that Olga Marie's expression had become irritated. Following her gaze, he saw that the red-haired girl who had burst in clumsily earlier, sitting next to him, was currently bowing her head, eyes closed, and snoring, she looked like she was sleeping very soundly.
As expected, Olga Marie was angry. She stormed over, opened her panel to check the information, and upon discovering that the person was just an insignificant candidate who had been specially recruited as an ordinary person, she grabbed her and threw her out.
After the person was expelled, Caelus saw her name: [Fujimaru Ritsuka].
Oh right, earlier when he was looking at the seven people in the front row, he had seen their names too, but he had paid special attention to one of them: [Akuta Hinako (Consort Yu)].
Perhaps he could try to find out more after this. Caelus thought that after the meeting ended, he would go and look for this Ms. Consort Yu. He was mainly curious about the story of that Overlord.
After this pre-mission mobilization meeting ended, everyone was to immediately undergo Rayshift to carry out their first mission.
Looking at the capsule in front of him, Caelus was pondering a question: if he went inside and they activated the device, would this so-called Rayshift actually work on him? He hoped it would not break like the Simulated Universe did.
Holding this doubt, Caelus lay inside, but soon he no longer needed to consider this question, because an explosion occurred.
The blast wave and flames generated by the explosion swept directly through the entire Central Control Room, and the Central Control Room next door, responsible for operations, also suffered as a result. The vast majority of the staff lost their lives in the explosion.
Caelus silently pushed open the cracked capsule door and walked out, looking at the control room, which had become a mess amid the sea of fire.
"Could it be that I'm naturally at odds with precision machinery? It actually just exploded."
At this moment, Caelus still thought it was his own doing that had caused the instrument to malfunction and subsequently explode.
Caelus thought it over carefully and felt it was better not to stand out too much, so he opened the capsule door, which was already on the verge of shattering, and lay back inside.
With such a huge explosion, others were either knocked unconscious or seriously injured. If he were the only one wandering around unscathed, it would be too obvious. At a time like this, he should lie down and pretend he did not know anything.
Then he heard the sound of someone breaking in, and they were anxiously trying to save someone.
At the same time, an announcement came over the broadcast saying that the Rayshift was about to begin.
(To be continued.)
