Anisha's heart skipped a beat when the lady turned to glance at her.
She walked over to Nhel, who looked at her with no less curiosity than Anisha.
She tsked.
"A few more strikes and you'd be rubbed out," she said.
"W-who are you?" Nhel said, his voice hoarse from pain.
"Mirabella. Who are you?" She bent close to Nhel.
Nhel stretched his hand and grabbed a knife nearby.
He stood up, enduring the pain in his chest, and threw the knife swiftly.
It cut the vines that had Anisha bound.
She dropped, but he caught her in his arms unfailingly.
"Are you alright?" Nhel asked, looking really worried.
Anisha got down immediately. She moved in panic.
"You're hurt," she said, touching his chest, checking for any injuries.
"I'm alright." Nhel's lips curved up in a small smile. He didn't feel pain anymore.
He turned to the lady who had helped them.
She stood where she was and watched them with folded arms, a slight smirk across her face.
