Chapter 99: Movements Across All Factions

Following that, Xuanyong held the hands of Cocolia and the others, walking directly onto the wall.

"What… what is happening?" Watching themselves walk on the wall, Cocolia, Tingyun, and Firefly were all filled with shock.

Just as the three were stunned, a bizarre mist instantly appeared behind Firefly. Before anyone could react, Firefly was carried into the sky by this mass of black mist, and a strange monster emerged from within it.

The monster's tail, glinting with a cold light, pressed directly against Firefly's chest. Just as the creature was about to strike, a black hole appeared and sucked it in.

"If I really let you succeed in attacking, wouldn't I lose face?" Xuanyong's cold voice rang in their ears.

"Lord Xuanyong, what was that just now…" Cocolia asked curiously after catching Firefly, who had fallen from the sky.

"Oh, that is 'Something Unto Death'." Xuanyong did not offer much explanation about the monster, simply waving his hand and leading everyone away.

As they left, "Something Unto Death" revealed itself once more from a television set not far away.

Afterwards, Xuanyong led the three women through the Primordial Dreamscape, witnessing all sorts of strange monsters and amusing things.

"This Primordial Dreamscape truly holds so many secrets." Firefly recalled everything that had just happened, unable to help but sigh with emotion.

"But was the voice we heard back then really the Watchmaker's?" Tingyun, recalling the sound that had come from a room they passed earlier, fell into deep thought.

"Probably not, right? After all, the Watchmaker has been dead for so many years." Hearing Tingyun's words, Firefly also reflected on the voice she had heard, lost in thought.

Just as the three women were pondering, Xuanyong arrived before them, holding a bubble-like sphere.

"Lord Xuanyong, this is…" Firefly asked curiously, looking at the sphere in his arms.

"Oh, this thing is quite a treasure." Xuanyong smiled without answering Firefly's question, simply summoning a black hole and tossing the sphere inside.

Meanwhile, several light-years away from Penacony.

"Hmph, to be sent by Lord Xuanyong to carry out a mission with you—just seeing you makes me sick!" A silver-haired woman looked at the blonde man before her with a look of extreme annoyance.

"Yuechu, if you aren't satisfied, you can go tell Lord Xuanyong. Seeing you makes me sick too." The blonde man glared back at the silver-haired woman with equal displeasure.

"Hmph, I can't be bothered with you. But is this the memory of Chadwick, the 79th member of the Genius Society?" The silver-haired woman snorted, then turned her gaze toward the bubble that Xuanyong had teleported over, asking with curiosity.

"What? You don't believe it? This was sent personally by Lord Xuanyong; do you think it could be fake?" Churi smiled, his eyes looking at the bubble with greed.

"Hmph, you are an Emanator of Destiny, yet you covet such a weapon? And don't forget, this memory unit is entrusted to me for safekeeping." Yuechu noticed the greed in Churi's eyes and replied with a cold expression.

"Just you wait, one day I will prove that my philosophy is right." Churi glanced at Yuechu, then helplessly turned and left.

Seeing Churi depart, Yuechu took out a special device to store the spirit entity and left as well.

Meanwhile, at the Herta Space Station.

"Oh, those guys from the IPC want the data on the Fusion Warriors?" Herta looked at the IPC member before her, speaking with indifference.

"Yes, Lady Herta. As long as you are willing to sell the Fusion Warrior data, our corporation can offer anything." The IPC member spoke respectfully, knowing full well he couldn't afford to offend Herta.

"Hmph, you aren't worthy of the Fusion Warrior data!" Herta had long been annoyed with the IPC, and now that they wanted to get their hands on data regarding the Fusion Warriors from the Honkai Impact 3rd world, she gave them no face at all.

"Lady Herta, I hope you consider this seriously. After all, we are the Interastral Peace Corporation." Hearing Herta's words, the IPC member's face darkened instantly, and he spoke with a hint of a threat.

"Oh, so you're the Interastral Peace Corporation, so what? I am a member of the Genius Society. Does the IPC want to wage war against us?" Faced with the threat, Herta merely sneered, not taking it to heart.

"You…" Just as the member was about to say something else, a voice interrupted him.

"My apologies, Lady Herta. This member is a new recruit, so he doesn't understand our rules. If he has offended you, please do not take it to heart." A man with glasses, strange eyes, and elegant manners walked over with a smile, offering an apology to Herta.

"An Avgin—Aventurine." Herta raised an eyebrow at the man.

"Indeed, Lady Herta. I express my respects to you on behalf of the corporation." Aventurine placed a hand on his chest, bowed forty-five degrees to Herta, and signaled for two people to take the staff member who had offended Herta away. As for his fate, that need not be spoken of.

"Enough talk. What faction in the universe doesn't know that you Avgins are natural-born thieves and liars… 'honeyed words and hidden daggers' describes you perfectly." Herta looked at Aventurine with disdain.

"Oh, Lady Herta, please do not misunderstand. I have never denied that I am a thief and a liar…" Aventurine slowly raised his head, looking at Herta with a charming, wicked smile.

Herta fell silent, not intending to say anything more.

Aventurine was not in a hurry; he bowed to Herta once more and said with a smile, "Lady Herta, I hope you will consider it. Cooperating with us will be a good thing for you."

Afterwards, Aventurine left with the IPC members, leaving only Herta, Asta, and the others behind.

"Lady Herta…" Seeing Herta lost in silence, Asta raised a hand, intending to ask a question, but was stopped by Herta raising her own hand.

"This is my territory; those guys from the corporation wouldn't dare make a move here. But, since they want it… Hehehehehehe." Herta revealed a bizarre smile, her eyes flashing with a hint of killing intent, leaving everyone present with a feeling of being shrouded in a chill.

[ Once again: do not underestimate the members of the Genius Society. You can call them geniuses, but never call them good people. ]
