...
"What is it? I was sleeping so soundly!"
It was actually nearly noon by now, but after enjoying the night view with Fei Xiao last night and feeling a bit restless, she hadn't fallen asleep until nearly two in the morning.
"What were you doing last night? Don't you usually get up pretty early?"
Lin Siyu noticed the look of exhaustion on her face, even catching faint hints of dark circles under her eyes, and couldn't help but feel puzzled.
"I just didn't sleep well last night. Alright, why were you in such a hurry to wake me up? If there's nothing else, I'm going back to sleep."
Meng Xi said casually, ready to go back for a nap at any moment.
Lin Siyu didn't think much of it, assuming her friend just wasn't used to sleeping outdoors while camping for the first time.
"I woke up early this morning and realized Sister Fei Xiao was gone. She should have been back by her usual morning run time, right? But I still haven't seen her."
"Oh, is that it?"
Meng Xi didn't react much, yawning as she prepared to catch up on some beauty sleep.
Lin Siyu couldn't figure out why Meng Xi was so unresponsive.
"Hey? Wait, why do you look so unconcerned? Do you know where Sister Fei Xiao went?"
Meng Xi opened the tent and said, "Last night, Sister Fei Xiao mentioned she might be away for a while today. She said she should have left a note in her bag. You can go take a look; I'm going to sleep a bit more. Also, don't wake me up next time. She is called the Tian Ji General, after all; there's no need for us to worry about her."
After saying this, Meng Xi couldn't wait to lie back down in the tent to catch up on sleep.
Seeing this, Lin Siyu clicked her tongue and stopped paying attention to her.
Taking a closer look, the bag was indeed placed by the big tree where Fei Xiao had rested the night before.
After some searching, she did find a note.
"The person who called last night said they have something to discuss with me today. So I'm heading home for a bit; I should be back by the afternoon. You two can wander around on your own or enjoy camping here until I return. Just make sure to stay safe."
"Home? Come to think of it, I don't even know where Sister Fei Xiao's home is in this world. I'll definitely have to go see it if I get the chance."
After reading the note's content, she casually put it back into the bag.
Lin Siyu looked around. She couldn't think of anything to do for the afternoon for the time being.
"I'll just wait until Meng Xi wakes up before deciding!"
So, she found a patch of grass nearby, lay down to soak up the sun, and enjoyed the gifts of nature.
...
...
"Hey, hey, wake up!"
Lin Siyu vaguely felt someone patting her face and instinctively rolled over.
Seeing this, Meng Xi slowly shifted her gaze downward and then reached out with her wicked hands.
"Ah! Ah No, no, no... don't"
...
The Little Loli was now fully awake, though a few crystalline tears lingered around her eyes.
She looked at the other person with a pitiful expression.
"That's too much, Meng Xi! We agreed you wouldn't pinch my waist. You know very well how sensitive I am there."
"Who told you not to wake up? And you have the nerve to bring that up? You woke me up early this morning, and now you're sleeping here yourself?"
Meng Xi crossed her arms and looked down at her quietly as she made excuses.
Lin Siyu finally recalled her Remembrance before falling asleep. She had originally just been lying on the grass looking at yesterday's data, but because the environment was so comfortable, she had accidentally fallen asleep.
"Hehe, it wasn't on purpose! Besides, the weather today is so nice, I just drifted off without realizing it."
Lin Siyu scratched her head awkwardly and replied offhandedly.
Meng Xi was also awake now, feeling that the surrounding environment was completely different from the oppressive atmosphere of the city. Plus, the weather today was indeed nice.
"By the way, Sister Fei Xiao, she..."
Meng Xi thought of the note and immediately changed the subject.
Meng Xi checked the time and suggested, "We didn't encounter a single Pokémon around here yesterday. So, let's not worry about streaming today; let's take a day off by the lake."
"Great idea, let's go then."
Lin Siyu agreed without a second thought. She thought to herself that since she couldn't stream Pokémon, an outdoor stream wouldn't be bad either.
After a quick wash, the two set off.
...
"Damn it! Folks, I refuse to believe I can't catch anything other than a Magikarp today."
Lin Siyu cast her line again in frustration.
"Hey, Siyu, look, I caught a new fish again. Looks like I win again."
Meng Xi lifted her fishing rod. On the other end of the line hung a fish that was primarily white with red joints. It had a horn like a unicorn on its head and was nearly half a meter long.
"Let me see... this one is called a Goldeen, a Water-type Pokémon. It's quite pretty!"
Meng Xi checked the pokédex in her hand and commented.
"Just you wait, watch me catch a Pokémon I've never seen before too."
A few minutes later, another Magikarp leaped out of the water.
"Tch."
Lin Siyu tossed it into a puddle nearby. In the small puddle at her feet, several bright red Magikarp were crowded together, flopping about.
(Pfft, hahaha! Sorry, I usually don't laugh... unless I can't help it, hahaha!)
(Come on, Streamer, you'll have ten of them soon.)
(Hahaha, I remember when the Streamer caught a batch of Magikarp, she said the same thing.)
"Damn it, what are you all saying! The next one definitely won't be a Magikarp, prepare to be proven wrong!"
Lin Siyu stared at the chat, her blood almost boiling.
"Good luck then, Siyu! I'm going to rest for a while. Don't worry, though, I'll be watching from the side; I won't abandon you."
After saying this, Meng Xi moved a few steps to the side, took a lounge chair out of her bag, and lay down on it. She wore an encouraging smile as she stared at the Little Loli in front of her.
(Hahaha, that's really rubbing salt in the wound!)
(You're being absolutely savage, the Streamer is completely speechless!)
(By the way, did you guys hear a strange noise?)
Lin Siyu was staring fixedly at the lake, but Meng Xi felt that something was wrong.
"Siyu, did you hear any sound?"
"Huh? The sound of my heart breaking when I caught that Magikarp?"
"No, I feel... it sounds like helicopter propellers?"
"Are you saying..."
Lin Siyu was just about to retort, but when she turned around, she saw several helicopters flying toward their location behind Meng Xi.
Meng Xi also followed her gaze and noticed what was behind her.
The two stared blankly at the helicopters that seemed to be about to land in front of them.
...
The helicopters found a patch of grass on the ground and slowly began to land.
Once the helicopters landed, a group of people in military uniforms walked straight toward the two who were streaming.
Both of them widened their eyes, stunned by the grand spectacle before them.
They had no idea what was going on. Had they broken the law? Even so, that wouldn't warrant sending in the military, right!
...
"Achoo~"
In a small villa, a white-haired, fox-eared older sister sneezed for no apparent reason.
