Chapter 21 - Chapter 21 - Epilogue

The reconstruction of the *Aegis* was a feat of engineering, but the reconstruction of a soul was something else entirely.

Kaelen sat on the edge of the lunar iris, his legs dangling over the edge of the Tycho Crater. He didn't need a suit anymore; the "Lattice" had become a part of his cellular structure, a thin membrane of silver light that maintained his pressure and oxygen. He looked like a statue of ancient bronze dipped in starlight.

"You're brooding again," a voice echoed through the comms.

Lyra landed her transport nearby, the dust settling slowly in the low gravity. She walked toward him, her movements fluid and confident. She wasn't just a technician from the past anymore; she was the High Arbiter of the New World.

"I'm not brooding," Kael said, though he didn't turn around. "I'm listening."

"To what? The vacuum?"

"To the signal," Kael replied. He pointed toward a distant, swirling cluster of stars on the horizon of the dark sky. "The Core calls it the Swan Starfield. It's not just a collection of gas and rock, Lyra. It's a network. The Moon wasn't the only Archive."

Lyra sat down beside him, her shoulder brushing his. "You're thinking about going, aren't you?"

Kael looked down at his hands. The silver veins pulsed in time with the distant stars. "The Void-Eaters were just the scouts. The 'Bit-Rot' that was eating our ancestors? It's a galaxy-wide infection. If we stay here, tucked away in our little green garden, we're just waiting to be harvested again."

"We just finished one war, Kael," she whispered.

"I know. And I'm not asking the gardeners to fight the next one." He turned to her, his eyes glowing with that familiar, predatory scavenger spark. "But I'm an Architect now. And an Architect doesn't just build walls; he builds bridges."

Behind them, a tall, imposing figure emerged from the shadows of the bunker. It was **William Wilhelm**, one of the first "New Humans" to be awakened from the high-tier digital archives. He carried a staff of white marble, and his eyes held the weight of a thousand years of history.

"The fleet is ready, Architect," William said, his voice like the low rumble of a distant storm. "The first 'Star-Seed' ships have been integrated with the Modulo-Armor. We can leap to the Swan Starfield by the next lunar cycle."

Kael stood up, the silver light of the Lattice flaring around him like a cloak. He looked at Lyra, offering his hand.

"Jax is staying behind to make sure the station doesn't fall out of the sky," Kael said with a smirk. "And the Vanguard is rooted in the Earth. But the stars... they belong to the scavengers."

Lyra looked at his hand, then at the vast, shimmering expanse of the Swan Starfield. She didn't hesitate. She took it.

"I suppose someone has to make sure you don't break the galaxy," she said.

As the sun rose over the edge of the Earth, casting a long, golden shadow across the moon, three ships rose from the Tycho Crater. They didn't look like the jagged needles of the Void-Eaters or the rusted buckets of the Council. They were elegant, shimmering arcs of silver and green—the first vessels of the **Swan Empire**.

Kaelen the Scavenger was gone. The era of the **Architects** had begun...
