The sun peeked through the curtains of a modest apartment in Kuala Lumpur, casting a warm glow across the room. The clock on the wall ticked steadily, reading 7:02 AM. Aduma Ali, a spirited thirteen-year-old with tousled hair and bright eyes, groaned as he rolled out of bed.
"Aduma! You're going to be late for school!" his mother, Farah, called from the kitchen, her voice laced with urgency.
"Coming, Mom!" he shouted back, quickly throwing on his uniform. He dashed to the bathroom, splashed water on his face, and glanced at the orange digivice resting on his desk. "I'll have to leave you behind today," he muttered, knowing his Digimon partner, a small orange creature named Pyrodramon and alifmon, would have to wait until after school for their next adventure.
In the kitchen, his father, Amir, was already seated at the table, sipping his coffee. "You're running late again, Aduma. What happened this time?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.
"I overslept! I'll eat quickly, I promise!" Aduma replied, grabbing a piece of toast and slathering it with jam.
"Make sure you don't forget your homework," Amir reminded him, his tone serious yet caring.
"I won't!" Aduma said, stuffing the toast into his mouth. "I'll be out in five minutes!"
As he rushed through breakfast, Farah placed a small bowl of fruit in front of him. "Eat this too. You need your energy for school."
"Thanks, Mom!" Aduma said, grabbing a few grapes before bolting toward the door. "I'll take the school service today!"
"Be careful!" Amir called after him as he dashed out, the door slamming behind him.
Outside, the morning air was fresh, and the streets were already bustling with activity. Aduma spotted the school service bus idling at the curb. He sprinted toward it, waving his hand.
"Hey, Aduma! You made it!" called out his friend, Rafi, who was already seated inside.
"Just barely!" Aduma replied, hopping onto the bus. "Did you finish the math assignment?"
"Barely," Rafi laughed. "But I think we'll survive Sir Muhamad Eid's class. Just don't let him catch you daydreaming again!"
Aduma chuckled, remembering the last time he had been caught staring out the window, lost in thoughts of his Digimon adventures. "I'll try my best."
As the bus rolled through the streets of Kuala Lumpur, the boys chatted about their favorite Digimon and the latest episodes of the show. Aduma felt a thrill of excitement at the thought of battling alongside Pyrodramon later that day.
When they arrived at the Islamic International Secondary School, the bell rang, signaling the start of the first period. Aduma and Rafi hurried to their classroom, where Sir Muhamad Eid was already waiting, his arms crossed and a stern expression on his face.
"Good morning, class," he said, his voice booming. "Today, we'll be discussing the importance of teamwork. I hope you all remember that, especially during our group project!"
Aduma exchanged glances with Rafi, both of them knowing that teamwork was crucial not just in school but also in their Digimon battles.
"Alright, let's get started," Sir Muhamad continued. "I want each group to come up with a plan for your project. Remember, communication is key!"
As the class broke into groups, Aduma felt a surge of determination. "Let's make sure we work together, just like we do with our Digimon," he said to Rafi and their other classmates.
"Absolutely! We'll show Sir Muhamad that we can be the best team," Rafi replied, his eyes sparkling with enthusiasm.
The morning flew by in a flurry of ideas and discussions, but Aduma's mind kept drifting back to Pyrodramon. He couldn't wait to return home and train together.
As the final bell rang, signaling the end of the school day, Aduma felt a rush of excitement. "Let's go!" he exclaimed, racing out of the classroom with Rafi close behind.
"Don't forget your homework!" Sir Muhamad called after them, but the boys were already outside, the thrill of adventure pulling them forward.
"Race you to the bus!" Rafi shouted, and they took off, laughter echoing through the schoolyard.
Aduma couldn't help but smile. Today was just the beginning of another thrilling chapter in his life, filled with friendship, teamwork, and the promise of new adventures with his Digimon partner.
To be continue..
