CHAPTER 48 APOLLO'S LESSONS
The students sat in a semi circle around Sir Apollo in the courtyard floor.
Different thoughts raced in their minds, but most expecially Roman.
He had to force himself to calm down.
And it turned out, rubbing Fury's fur was one way..
"So, hmm, where do I start..?"
Apollo placed his hand on his chin as he gased upwards.
"You guys are strong in your own way, but this class requires you to own a sword. Some of you already know how to use a blade, but you need for work"
He looked at Roman
"I could tell at first glance that you're already skilled with a sword. You'll make an excellent swordman"
"Thanks. I dedicated my time in the way of the sword, it's like it's a part of me now"
Roman said.
"You haven't used a sword since you got here"
Sarah chipped in.
"Well... let's just say I can get carried away"
Roman chuckled.
"I know that feeling"
Apollo nodded.
"What about you?"
He faced Anya
"I can tell you are versed with multiple weapons"
Anya nodded.
"It took time but I got the hand of it"
Apollo nodded.
"You also use a sword "
He pointed at Bryon.
"Yeah, it's my spirit weapon"
Bryon nodded.
"You use a sword, but you don't own a sword. There's a difference"
"Well to be honest, I'm actually more used to my fist"
Apollo said at him for a while.
"Not in this class"
He smirked.
Apollo tapped his storage ring and multiple swords appeared and flew to the students grip.
The swords were simple in style but masterfully crafted from a higher level crystal.
It was obvious.
"Umm..are we supposed to be using actual weapons in training?"
Lunar asked.
"I kinda like it"
Roman said, swinging the sword and tasting the weight.
"But it's wayyy inferior to mine"
"I can get used to this "
Lan said as he swung his sword with much force than intended.
"Whoa dude.. you got relax when swinging a sword "
Carl said.
"Our mentor thought both Sarah and I how to handle a sword. So we know a thing or two"
Billy held the sword as if holding a foreign material.
Anya swung the sword decently and nodded.
Apollo nodded with approval.
"These were the swords I've been using over the years before I finally got this baby"
He pointed at the great sword behind him.
"This sword was crafted by a very powerful swordsmith back then"
He glanced at Roman
"Story for another day.
"To be able to use the skills I'm gonna teach you, you will need descent mastery of the sword.
So today, we start with the most basic of skills"
Apollo brought out another sword from his ring and turned towards another direction.
He held the hilt with both hands, blade facing forward, both legs apart.
He lifted the sword up, and swung down, performing a basic downward cut.
Apollo turned to look at them.
"Avoid using your spirit energy. Can you do that?"
He asked.
"Well this is the most basic technique"
Roman said.
"I'm not trying to brag or anything but..."
Roman held the sword and performed the downward cut.
Every breath, every motion, the stance, the flow of energy from the foot up to the waist then to the wrist, was flawless.
"I got this in the bag"
He smiled.
Apollo nodded.
"Same here"
Lunar said as he performed the downward cut flawlessly.
"Roman and I trained together for years so this is nothing"
Anya performed the downward cut effortlessly and nodded.
"I've never used a sword, but I figure it out"
Sarah and Carl performed the downward cut without effort.
Lan swung the sword with power and it hit the ground, causing sparks to fly out.
"Whoa easy dude.."
Bryon chuckled.
Billy scoffed refusing to give it a try.
"Alright"
Apollo said.
"Sylver, Bryon, Lan and Billy, you guys will practice for the next few hours. Of course I'll explain in proper details for you to understand the feeling.
While the rest of you, stand over at the side"
Roman, Lunar, Sarah, Carl and Anya moved away, leaving the others.
"Wow, I guess the four of us are together again"
Lan said as he looked at Sylver.
Sylver rolled her eyes.
