Author's pov:
Night time jay and keifer were sleeping together. His long, warm arms tight on her waist like
she might disappear.
But suddenly jay felt a sharp pain on her chest and felt nauseous. She got up quick and tan
to the bathroom.
Only to spit-
Blood
Keifer was startled unaware what to do. Jay had her eyes closed afraid her trauma might trigger and she might hurt keifer.
She washed her face.
"Maybe you should do the surgery first jay!"
Keifer was panicking
"This is normal keifer just come and sleep beside me"
He listened still worried.
But by 3am Jay woke up again. She stepped outside her room and called Julian.
"Where are you?"
"At the investigation room. Come down"
She went down to the room.
But she didn't know that keifer followed her.
He was jealous and hurt that she doesn't share things like she does with Julian.
He was far but close enough for Jay and Julian to not notice.
Julian: you look pale like a ghost
Maria: So do you! She shot back
"Then we might have to put a pause to the competition"
"We will Jul"
But she wasn't sure.
Julian: they are inside the border but how did they afford it. they cannot come here by private jet, plane tickets to expensive.
Maria: how many?
Julian: just one....pero few days ago it was 7.... I asked lucas to look into the unknown person and people who entered but...he couldn't
Julian handed her pills.
Far away keifer watched everything the way they stood too close. the way their shoulders brushed. his jaw clenched. hands tight.
"That's surprising Jul. Lucas is too good at hacking how can he not?" her voice was irritated
"I thought the same too...."
"Well I need to go back Jul, Keifer might wake up. abt the hitlist and enemies we cannot let section E or my family. this stays between the octane phantom, f4 and DOH"
Julian nodded.
Keifer slipped away silently without noise.
Maria stayed for few more mins before leaving figuring out plan.
Julian: so we need to find out whether yuri wants to kill or not!
Maria nodded. They left.
When Maria shifted her sharpness to softness tuning back into Jay after looking at keifer.
Sleeping.
Or pretending to.
She climbed onto the bed, nuzzled into his chest. And whispered:
"love you keifer until scientist find the end of the universe"
Keifer smiled.
Jay thought he was doing it while still sleeping but no. Keifer knew abt the talk but didn't know who was actually in trouble. He thinks it's Jay but it's actually him.
For Jay this was a piece of cake something she can do it in 2days.
Yet she was struggling to find the person who entered the country to harm. On the other hand, Julian talked to the team. Devised a plan. Co-ordinated. Left no trace. They were up. Jay wanted see keifer breathing.
She traced his face: Jaw, nose, eyes, and....lips.
She leaned in and kissed him. It was suppose to be a peck she tried to pull away but keifer held her by the neck and kissed her desperate.
They pulled apart breathing heavy.
"You were awake" she gasped
"No, woke up when you kissed me I felt something soft on my lips" He winked at her.
Jay rolled her eyes pretending to be annoyed.
*morning*
The sunlight dipped onto their faces. Keifer groaned when Jay alarm rang.
"Jay turn it off please"
Jay had already gotten out of his grip.
"sorry"
"What's the time where are you going?" His voice still half-asleep.
"well It's 4am and I'm going out for running with the group if you want you can join"
His eyes snapped open.
"you have training this early??" He asked shock.
She nodded.
"Well yeah. we do a lot. like aiming, running and stuff to build maybe you might get tired anyways"
"The I will just watch and train if they allow" Keifer got up getting into shirt.
He saw Jay train the way she aimed. the way she ran almost the same pace as Oliver's (Julian). The way she never gave up.
The way she did not stop after getting bruises.
Jay walked towards keifer after a while.
"Aren't you and your team being tough on yourselves"
"Being tough gives less weakness keifer. Only if we are tough on each other during training we won't pity others when they lose"
Jay shrugged and went back to training.
*After training and freshen up*
It was suppose to be a normal breakfast. But not for Maria (jay) team. their eyes were on Yuri.
Watching him Monitoring his movements.
No one notice. Not even Yuri and keifer the sharpest one.
What they realized was Yuri never wanted to be part of this. He was sad. Dry tears that he wiped away.
Later at night while everyone went out. Only octane remined in the basement.
While the rest went out to distract. Keifer resisted. He wanted Jay. But through Daniel's strict order he agreed reluctant.
Julian and Maria walked inside Yuri's room. He was at the balcony of his allocated room. Crying silently. whispering to himself:
" how am I suppose to kill my best friend. Even if we are rivals. Who will I ask help"
"You could ask us!" Julian's voice was sharp as glass and firm.
Jay stepped forward.
Yuri got up shocked.
"Yuri...We know everything and we want to help you and your mom"
Yuri did not say anything only cried harder.
He didn't know whether to choose his mom or his best friend
But a little help wouldn't hurt him! right?
"Thank you..." he whispered to him.
In a pleading, desperate tone.
He was torn.
Because everytime he wanted to kill keifer their childhood memories flashed in his mind.
He couldn't lose his best friend for being an heir.
Because no matter how much they fought, they always became friends again. They stood by each other fighting. The friendship that Yuri, keifer, Aries and Percy shared was special.
It always has been.
It always will be!
